Julee:
1) Do you have a SO (husband, fiance, serious BF, wife, GF, partner, etc)?
Yes, my husband's name is Eric. Our first anniversary is next week! 2 July 2005... we can't believe it's been a year!
2) Is your SO heavy, of typical weight, or thin?
I guess Eric is 'normal weight' (145 at about 5'6"?) or, he could be 'thin' - he's not rail thin though...
3) Does your SO support your weight loss efforts...if so, how?
He definitely supports me! He cheers me on, asks in a funny way about my weigh ins, celebrates losses, comforts me for maintenance

He does my walks with me and says he's my 'coach'

And since I started he's allowed me to cook whatever I needed to cook, however I needed to cook it and that's what he eats for dinner too. Although he loves sausages and bacon, so I tend to make him his own naughty breakfast and I'll stick with porridge or a healthy omellette. Most importantly, he was strong and firm during my largest challenge yet, the 8 mile WALK FOR LIFE we did in London. He's a gem!
4) Were you heavy when you met your SO?
Yes, I was. I didn't used to weigh myself 'back in the day' but I think I'm still about 10 lbs larger than when he met me (I just got back into the clothes I was wearing Xmas 2003 and some shirts from that summer - when we met - are still a bit snug).
Dogpal - thanks for your congrats on the walk - but I don't really ROCK! I had gone mad. I was a whiney, crazy B

!! for the last half of it

My goal is to be able to do the walk next year without losing my mind this time
Dogpal, you're so considerate, writing just about EVERYONE back! I hope you're feeling much better these days?
Lilion - yes, I have noticed that fast food places are offering healthy choices, but I don't quite trust them, especially since hearing about McD salads being sprayed with a fattening preservative (a few years back... ) and of course after SuperSizeMe... A few weeks ago I had a Mediterranean salad from Wendy's because it was 4 pm, my best friend and I hadn't eaten anything at all, and we were still running around doing errands pre-wedding, but if I hadn't been starving, I wouldn't have had fast food.
Doxiemom - Thanks for the TOM tip. Now if they don't carry those in the UK I'm going to throw a HUGE tantrum
Bamamom - Welcome! Your story is really touching. I hope we can provide you with the support you need! I don't have any kids yet. Me and my husband enjoy life so much now, we're just not sure if we want to. Anyway, I know that I won't even consider getting pregnant until I am of normal weight. And even then, I know it will be a challenge to not gain toooo much and to drop that weight after dropping a baby. I admire you guys who have kids and are able to stick with your programs and focus on losing. You deserve a medal!
OK gang... love and kisses XXX
