Talking Saying hello

Hi, everyone! (Newbie jumping in again.)

Catherine: I am very proud of you, happy for you and excited for you. It is so hard to put it all out there for everyone to see (and criticize). I joined a gym last year and walking in there was the hardest thing I ever had to do -- the majority of the people there weigh about 110 pounds. Only once in a while do I catch someone laughing at me, but it’s usually a 16-year-old and I tell myself/remind myself “they don’t know how far I’ve come and how much I’ve accomplished.” (Plus I secretly delight in the fact that they have yet to find out what will happen after they have a few kids and their bodies turn on them. LOL.)

Also, Catherine, I haven’t seen any strides in loss of poundage from going to the gym, but I have lost 5 inches in my waist and I can walk upstairs one leg at a time (left, right, left, right) instead of having to go up one, stop, bring the other leg up and wait to start on the next (each step being its own project). My body feels as strong as it is big. You’re going to love those machines!

Rosie: Lie. The machines will hold you (as long as you aren't like 50 to 100 pounds heavier than the heaviest weight it will allow). I had several MRIs and wasn’t supposed to (too heavy -- by about 15 pounds). No way I was telling them I was heavier and have to go somewhere else or not get the tests done. If worse ever comes to worse, you could always say "maybe your scale was wrong."

I hope everyone will have a good, productive, healthy day today!

Good morning ladies!

Looks like a rain day for us. Good, the fertilizer on the yard needs it. Plus I need to stay home tonight and get stuff done here.

I'm up and have done 35 minutes on the spinner. My goal is to do 40 minutes each morning so I'm getting there.

Julee - Tough situation with the friend. For my two cents, I'd send the pics and be proud of who you are. She can like it or not. You can't control whether people judge you or not but you can control who is in your life.

Catherine - I loved reading your post about going to the Y. I love your spirit about your journey to better health.

Barb.G - Sorry about missing chat. I didn't get home from the horses until after 8 pm. I'll make it sometime!

Unfortunately, I have to go to work now. Boo!! Have a great OP day!

PSA - Don't forget, we have a 2x2 ending on this coming Monday and our goal was to break the 300 pound mark. Think about that when you're reaching for a bad food choice or not getting up to exercise!!

G'morning everyone
Finally a day where I can be on for more than a minute.

Welcome Rosie!!

Thanks for the 2x2 reminder Terri...maybe it will motivate me again.

I have been out of control eating wise...I was doing so well, and then blew it, and continue to blow it...today is the day to stay OP.

We have had unbelievable flooding here and the county has been closed. They have opened the county roads, but the roads in my town are still closed...you pretty much have to drive through my town to get anywhere, so that makes no sense at all. Alot of roads were washed away and people are in desperate situations.

I am off to do a WATP tape...I will check in later

Have a great day!!!

Default Good morning and THANKS for the welcome!

Hi everyone, thanks for being so nice, and for you support with my FOOT!!! Someone suggested a podiatrist, which is not a bad idea. Boy, this experience is reminding me ONCE AGAIN that we do not live in a large person friendly world. It is hurtful to me at times.

Anyway, I am hoping to plod along with all of you! I have done this before and can do it again! YAY

One day at a time.... Eager to hear everyone's suggestions and ideas!

Rosie

OK still working on that weight loss tracker....duh

Smile Good morning!

Good morning chickies, I have been absent for a couple of days, and wow have we moved fast! Welcome to the newbies!

Terri, thanks for reminding me that the 2x2 ends Monday. I think I will have made my 2 lbs, but you know I had to lose a couple that I had gained back first. ARGGH!

I have been busy doing some research on the web, and I think my eyes need a break. (also my backside ) I won't be lingering long, just wanted to pop in and let you know that things are going well. Until later, Iwillbe

Good Morning Ladies!

Hope everyone is having a happy, healthy, OP day!

Well, once again I got no exercise and didn't get enough water to drink last night. After work, homework, settling fights between neighborhood boys, dinner and doing battle with the forces of mold and mildew, it was time for bed. That's the excuse for exercise at least. Water...just keep forgetting darn it. I'm only getting a liter down a day...with caffine free sugar free soda on top. This could put my 2x2 in real trouble. But on the up side - my bathroom is now clean.

MRI's - Hate Them! I'm not even particularly comfortable with open MRI's as I don't like things close to my face. As I've gotten older and fatter I've gotten progressively more claustrophobic. Of course, I also got health problems that required MRI's - Lucky me! First back problems, then a pituitary tumor...nothing serious, but something that required a CLOSED MRI every 4 to 6 months! I've finally been released by the neurosurgeon that was watching that...Thank GOD! No more sticking me in that tiny little tube. I was always terrified that I'd get stuck. I could just see it happening. I'm normally not a wimp...but I actually refused to go in the last time. They left me sitting in the exam room for 15 minutes, staring at the little tube and one tech was talking to me about how small it is...and when I started to go in I just freaked! Couldn't do it.

Sorry, rambling, makes me nervous just thinking about them.

Julee: What a decision to make...I'm sure you're worried about opening yourself up to being hurt again. But, you might want to think about this...if she's been divorced...she hasn't had a fairytale life. She may be happy now...but she's had bad times too. You are happy now too! Perhaps you should think of this as a chance to find out what happend to her, but not expect her to be your best friend again. Whatever you decide...we're here ((hugs)).

Jilly: nice to see you! Sounds like you are very busy!

Rosie: And any other newbies! Welcome! This is a great group with tons of love and support!

Well, tomorrow my job announces who gets the axe - if anyone. This fact makes me quite motiviated to get back to work!

Good morning, Ladies!

I'm just here for a minute to try and help Rosie. BTW, Rosie, Welcome to the group.

As you can see, some of us have a "signature". Like mine is "Thinthinker" in a color and then the disclaimer. If you go to the top of this page and choose "user CP" a page will come up where you can create your own "signature". Add your name, colors, font size, etc.

At the very top of that page, you will also see where it says would you like to have your own "weight tracker". Start there and it will walk you through the steps to create a tracker. You put your weights in, then pick a slider, then a little guy to move down the slider, etc.

Once you have created your tracker, the last page gives you a bunch of "codes". It will say in RED that the "BB" code is the one to use for this site.

You'll need to copy and then paste THAT code into your signature page you created. (I just followed my own directions and the only way I see to get back to that page where you originally created your signature is to use your "back" button on your browser.) So highlight and copy the code and then use your "back" button to get back to that signature text page and THEN paste it there.

When you're all finished, hit "save signature".

I hope this helps. If you have any other questions about how to do it, please holler and I'll be glad to try and assist you.

I"m not sure why, but sometimes I have a hard time making myself come here. Guilt? Depression? Oh, I don't know.

But I'm making a committment yet again. I made a new batch of my veggie burritos and froze them for future lunches, and I pondered the ethics of McDonald's at a Disney board, LOL. And now that the weather is getting nicer, I've been taking walks.

Anyway, I'll check back in later. Sorry I've been in hiding.

Arcayne: BF and I finally watched Super Size Me this weekend...WOW. I am still not sure which aspect shook me more. I know that the experiment was an extreme case given the parameters he chose to establish...but it also was representative of some people who do eat that way. The project he did with putting the different foods in the glass jars though was so disturbing. Makes me wonder how many of the McD's fries I ate over the years are still chilling inside me somewhere....YUCK!.

So...back to the friend and pictures thing...I emailed her and basically told her how I felt. I told her that it hurt when she had judged me but that I am a stronger person today and that I am proud of myself and who I am..and that even though I do not yet love what I see in mirror physically that I was proud of myself for making the choice to regain control of that askpect of my life. I did send her a photo (yeah I owe you guys one too..so sue me) and basically said...take me as I am. But I told her that I have trust issues when it comes to her and given the fact that she has now been out of my life almost as long as she was in my life...it was a shock to the system. Her response was good...she was concerned with reconnecting and wanting to see me again and that although we both made mistakes in the past, that the past was the past and didn't need to be rehashed and that she didn't care about how I look. She didn't exactly own up to being a B***H but whatever...sometimes you have to just let things go.

Maybe I'll go see if I can figure out how to post a picture now.

LOL...someone from another office came through our office while the three of us were eating our wonderfully healthy (and delicious) lunch of salmon, salad, veggies and grapes and asked us if we had any chocolate....we got a good laugh off of that. I actually do have some in my office for when the kids stop by, but I can't see it and it doesn't interest me in the least. But the teachers in our day school all eat like crap. They get the same hot lunch garbage that the kids get....fried chicken nuggets, tacos, greasy lo mein, pizza, etc...a few of them make the attempt and eat yogurt and saltines and drink flavored seltzer water...but ugh. And of course you know they are all rail thin.

Ok...off to do something that resembles work. Late night here tonight...bleah.

Byeee.....

Howdy everyone! Hope you are all having as nice a day as I am. It's 72 degrees in sunny :sun: Michigan today. Definitely a nice change from Winter!!! I could live with this temperature year round. I really don't like it too much warmer than this. And too much colder is just depressing!

I went to work and then did some Fling and grocery shopping. I don't mind the shopping and buying stuff, but I HATE putting it all away. I found a decent price on some Top Sirloin steaks, so I think firing up the grill in the next couple of days will be in order. I also found a nice buy on a beef roast so crock pot here that comes. I haven't eaten much beef in quite some time so I think the roast will probably go in the freezer for a couple of weeks. I bought some Top Round steaks to slice up for either quasadillas or tortillas. I think I'll probably freeze that as well. Can you tell they had a beef sale at the grocery??

Jazz: Did it ever stop raining out there by you? I saw some news reports and it didn't look too good. Are you ok?

Rosie: I'm sorry, but that's really nasty about your foot. I can't believe that they cannot accommodate a larger person! Absolutely disgusting that a health care facility cannot handle it. I hope you find somewhere soon that can take care of you. I'm with whoever said, lie about your weight. I think I've been 250 on my driver's license for the past 20 years.

Jill: I wondered where you were and figured you must have your hands full with that new busy schedule. Glad to see you checking in. *I often slip into the "not eating enough" routine. Sometimes you just have to force it, especially when you finally get your head around the fact that you have to eat a certain amount to actually lose.

Terri: I hope the buy out truly is a good thing for you all. Honey has been involved in a company that got bought out twice. The first time was fine....only improvements. The second time, however, they bought 'em and moved all the jobs out of state. That sent everyone into unemployment. Not fun!

Shop: I don't think you ever said, do you work or go to school? * I bet California is beautiful this time of year. Are you close to the ocean?

Barbg: Thanks for putting together and organizing chat last night. It was great fun. Fast paced for this old girl, but fun, nonetheless. We really had a great turnout.

Julee: Boy, I'm usually full of advice but I don't know on your old friend situation. Everyone here has basically said to give her a second chance. I'm usually very forgiving, but you said she said some REALLY NASTY things to you before you parted ways and I just don't know. I think, here's my 2 cents worth again , that you're just going to have to go with your gut. If you truly miss her, like your life isn't full without her, then I guess I would say proceed....but VERY CAUTIOUSLY. If she's someone you can do without, then?????? I usually go back and see if anyone has posted while I'm writing before I "submit" my reply and sure enough, there you were with an update. I was going to erase what I wrote above, but figured I would just add another 2 cents. Boy, now you REALLY owe me! I'm glad that you were able to tell your friend (former/current/ex????) just like it is. The first great step is honesty and it sounds like you laid it all right out there for her. GOOD FOR YOU!!! Maybe bygones, should be bygones. Good luck with this NEW relationship.

Melissa: There are a couple companies that have you jump through a bunch of hoops called "training", but usually I don't have the time for them so I just work for others. And it's funny, but some of them that have the MOST HOOPS, pay the LEAST!

Brandnew: [[[hugs]]] I hope your family situation clears up real soon. It's nice to see you peeking in.

Bobbi: Here is a link to a picture especially for you. http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/atta...chmentid=17582 You mentioned about going to the gym and not losing pounds, but losing inches. The pic is 5 pounds of fat vs. 5 pounds of muscle. I don't know about you, but I'd sure rather see under my skin looking like the latter, instead of the former.

Iwillbe: Whatcha researching? You know me, inquiring minds want to know!

Lilion: Tell ya what, will you join me in making a new rule? Starting tomorrow, I vow to drink my 6 glasses of water BEFORE touching anything else to drink. Wanna join me? * When do you leave for Vegas? This weekend?

Esmaraude: Welcome back, I've really missed you. Thanks for posting the recipe. I read through the ingredients and the burritos sound delicious. I'm used to using the Morning Star Crumbles instead of ground beef so these will fit right in. A couple of the girls were talking this past week about putting together a healthy taco salad and that mixture sounds like it would fit the bill for that too. Thanks again.

Scooter: Thanks for posting the pics. You do have beautiful, long hair. That bike looks great. I'm glad you like it.

Theotherjen: It takes a long time to grow hair that long, doesn't it? I have to say that your hairstyle really looks good on you too though. The pics you posted were very nice.

Arcayne: Consider yourself signed up for that 2x2. We never turn down pounds lost towards our goal.

Huggy: Nice to see you. We all have THOSE days, and weeks sometimes. Just pick up the boot straps and get back on the wagon. Being successful means starting over....again....and again.....and again. [[[hugs]]]

2cute: Did you get your sale stuff ready for this weekend? If you're anything like me you'll have made a bigger mess than you started with. I always start and then get too pooped to get it finished.

Tina: How is your FIL? I hope he's doing better. You had a Dr. appointment too, didn't you? * Sorry Tony didn't win Sunday! I think you said you were going to Bristol. I looked for you, but no luck.

If there's anyone else out there lurking, please stop in and say "hi".

Joyce, you haven't been around in awhile. Do you still have your granddaughter staying with you? I think you're supposed to be going to California this month, aren't you? When do you leave?

CD: where have you gone off to, girl? Have you been able to keep up with your online classes. The semester should be nearly over, isn't it? Hope you're doing well and will stop in.

There's a whole bunch more that I would like to address, but Honey is on his way home and I'm headed out to get healthy Subway for dinner tonight. Tuesdays are Two for Tuesdays at our local Subway so I can get out of cooking......again.

See you all later. Love ya bunches.
