Hi all.... I keep doing these pop ins and then disappearing again. Dang I'm tired of no progress. But I've made some progress on my book, so that's good. Sometimes it seems I can only focus on one thing at a time. But spring break is almost over. So the students will be leaving catherine's beach and returning to campus. (OMG you made me laugh, Catherine, imagining your dog checking all the students....)

It's a beautiful day, so I'm going to make sure I get a walk sometime today. Maybe the pond will be dry enough to walk around it.

Sorry not to do replies again. Sounds like folks are making progress... anyone out there completely off program like me? I keep showing up here hoping the accountability will help me get back on track.

Well I have gotten diddley squat done today. It is so pretty outside. I want to be out there and not in here....

Hope everybody is doing good today. I haven't done so hot on the food front. I had a HotCakes from McDonald's, and Cheese Pizza from Papa John's for lunch but i will have Baked Fish tonight.

Tomorrow will be better.

Another good day for food, still haven't done my walk yet, I will get to it though. Wow, Adult Protective Services still hasn't called, my boss says that could mean the case wont even be substantialized. :cross:

Catherine - across the bridge to tampa? I think it's funny that your dog wants to wake up immature drunk kids, it's a hoot. if they don't want to wake up having an animal slobber over them, perhaps they should have opted for a bed?

Hey, does anyone have a good recipe for pizza? I'm really craving pizza BADLY and I don't want to fall into a trap of buying one at a pizza place, it would be just TOO greasy, and I can never seem to be reasonable with pizza and just have a couple of slices

Barb - wow you've got a lot of traveling coming up! I won't be totally heartless though, and say that i'm jealous, especially after hearing your tales about in vitro...i often wonder if i too will have to go through that when i decide to have kids one day (i have PCOS). I'm also very sorry to hear about your mom, I wasn't here to hear your news.

Julee - never been square dancing but i've done contra dancing. that was a nightmare, the men were sooooo unbelievably harsh when i would make the wrong step or go the wrong way. they'd jerk me this way and that...ouch!

Talking Tgif

Just stopped in to say Hi

I am having a great day off from work, although my plans didn't work out, and that was to spend it with the kids. They all want to do their own thing since they are back to school on Monday. But we do have plans to go to the local casino tonight and play a few rounds of bowling and video games and then dinner.
As for my school stuff, I got most of the reading done so now it's getting my thoughts/reactions on paper
I've got good news though, and that is my blood sugar levels are down and so is my weight. The bad thing is, I haven't done anything good for this to happen except to be not stressed. How weird is that? Anyway, you all have a fun weekend and I'll check on you lighter.

Meliss:
I have a recipe for a pizza casserole with whole wheat pasta. It's a "core" recipe on WW and tasted pretty good. There are a lot of ways to modify it. Let me knowif you want it.

I'm following along, but don't have much time to post. Even though yesterday was St. Patrick's Day. I made both boiled cabbage and potato and braised cabbage and onion (but no bubble and squeak, alas). The boiled cabbage was great - I had a little bit of brine from my mother's brisket. Cabbage boiled in corned beef brine is my favorite, and the little potatoes (not new potatos, but little baby Yukon Gold potatoes) cooked up beautifully and were as exquisite as any potatoes I've had since my father's secretary sent us a bagful of her homegrown potatoes - which were, in turn, so incredibly good that they sort of redefined potato (until I forgot again, as usual.). I had a recipe for braised cabbage topped with crème fraiche, so I topped mine with the poor dieting woman's alternative: fat free yogurt, perhaps a tablespoon or less for a heaping helping. It was absolutely delicious, so I think that braised cabbage will be a semi-regular on my table - cabbage is so reasonable, this was so delicious, and pretty easy to prepare.

Angela - good luck getting back on track! I'm pretty confident that you can do it. After all, look how far you've come. I look at your tracker and it's inspirational.

Meliss - If you are interested in tackling a yeast crust, I have a few recipes. They're all very basic and can be made healthier by using 1/2 whole wheat flour and 1/2 white flour, though I haven't tried that yet. It makes a delicious crust, and if you make your own sauce and control the cheese, it would probably fit right in w/your program. Otherwise, I like pita-bread pizza too. Good luck finding something that works for you!

For Fun Friday - my fun was, I saw someone I hadn't seen for two months, and she asked me if I'd lost weight. She's the first person to notice my weightloss and say something, so that was a real pick-me-up. I think.. people who see you everyday don't see that as well as people you see occasionally.

I have to run before the bank and mailboxes, etc. close. I'm mailing someone some ramp wine! Have a great evening, ladies!

Good afternoon Chicks!! I know its been a week since I last posted but I have been busy trying to get my bedroom and master bath organized and cleaned and winter clothes washed and put away and unpack some summer clothes. Its starting to get spring like here now!!

Got good news on the weightloss front...I had WI (not Wisconsin) today and lost....5.6 lbs!! Plus....I joined a gym with one of the girls at work. Its a 24 hour gym so you can go whenever you want! Its not a meat market gym and they take care of you and give you a T-shirt when you join, a pad of paper and pen and they work you out a program to follow and every 90 days they check in on you and help you update and make changes to your program and whatever else you need help with! Its really a great place to exercise!! It was very inexpensive and only $15 more to add John to it too! And...best of all its right down the road from work and since we get a 2 hour break on Mon, Tues, and Thurs I'll have NO excuse and since Christy joined too...she will definately DRAG my hiney there those 3 days a week! Thats my goal for now...3 days a week at the gym and more IF I feel like it! The good thing is you can go in any time day or night!! Even if the urge strikes you at 2 a.m. !!!

Well I need to say welcome back Barbpa...glad you had the time away with your honey!! And I just have to say I miss you too! Even though we didn't get together that often just knowing that we are so far away now makes me feel sad! But...the next time we are up that way I'll let you know and maybe we can do lunch or something! Or go to the park again with a picnic lunch! Or if you are ever down this way let me know!! K?

Scooter...I love your pic of your Kees. I had two of them when I lived in RI. My baby girl Quiche was 10 years old when she got really sick. It was the week before I moved to PA. Your pic brings a smile to my face every time I see it!!

2Cute your family has been in my prayers! I miss seeing you on here on a regular basis! And I love seeing all the new people joining us too!! There is always something to read when I check in!

I'm not going to be able to catch up with you all this time but I will be back over the weekend to check in! I am soooo motivated with my loss I want to keep going and coming here instead of the kitchen surely helps me stay on track!

So...for now...have a great night!!

Michelle

Good evening ladies. Went to my TOPS meeting today and am down
another 1/5 lb. Not a lot but every little bit helps. Were getting
ready for our installation of officers and ARD in April at my TOPS group.
Our ARD theme is 1920's so were making a banner.

For all those that watch American Idol. I was switching channels last
night at midnight and guess who I saw? Constatine!!!!!!! He was
on the show ELIMIDATE! Its where 1 either female or male is supposed
to pick a date from 1 of 4 people of the opposite sex. I've seen it before
but not a steady watcher. Anyway when I was changing channels there
he was!! I said I know that person and sure enough it was him. He was
rather young looking. I tried to catch the credits at the end but just
barely saw them I think it was in the late 1990's. I'm going to look it
up on the web and see if I can find the program. He was singing to
the girl - skating-and dancing at a night club. I think it was Boston.
He won the date! She picked him. He was really young looking though.
Wonder if American Idol knows about this???The way people drop
out I hope this does not effect his staying. Even though I don't think
he will be the all round winner. I'm with others it will either be BO or
Nadia.

Well I'm off to fix supper so everyone have a great OP weekend.
Talk to all later - lighter

Hi again just come across this on the web.'AI's' Constantine's Lost Performance for Love
March 2, 2005

"Extra" has uncovered the long lost tape of "American Idol" hopeful Constantine Maroulis. Before the heartthrob became an "Idol" frontrunner and this season's resident rocker, he actually competed for a young woman's heart on the dating reality show "Elimidate" a few years ago.

"I definitely have a lot of drive," Constantine bragged on his audition tape. "I know I'm going to do well with my singing one day wherever it takes me."

Well, it's working for him so far. You can catch Constantine's "Elimidate" episode on Wednesday.

See all later. Supper is calling. HILTA

Hi ladies!!! I am wondering what kind of bike you guys use. I admit, I'd love to get one and learn to ride; it's always been a dream of mine. But I've heard such horror stories about fat people getting on bikes and the tires deflating heh, I'm nervous. So what kind of bikes do you guys use??? I found one online that I fell in love with that is specially made for big riders, but it's SO expensive. Bleah. So when I win the lottery or get a job one day I will definitey be getting it. It's called a Kona Hoss Dee-Lux. It's good enough to have a wet dream about heh.

Here's a pic!

Thanks for the info on the seat though, I will definitely keep that in mind.

I live in St. Pete, sort of a wang of a penisula hanging off half way down the west side of Florida. Clearwater is the upper half or so of the penisula, and tampa bay separates us from Tampa. The bridges to tampa are about 15 mintues long. The Skyway bridge to the south is really tall because it goes across the shipping channel. I have to want to go to Sarasota awful bad to fly over it. Being surrounded by water on 3 sides keeps us warmer in winter and cooler in summer. It's also crowded and expensive, but I love it. No hail or dust storms like back home in Oklahoma.

I make great pita bread pizzas. We have a mediterranian bakery here. They make a fat free whole wheat pita that is only 148 calories for a pita the size of a large plate. I use vegetarian canadian bacon or pepperoni from the health food store, and a really good grated romano chese for the top. 2 table spoons is only 40 calories. Sometimes I use a fat free flour tortilla. 2 minutes in the microwave actually makes the tortilla crispy. Classico pasta sauce is the lowest caloriewise. I also got a bunch of plastic pet food can covers so I can use only part of a can of olives or mushrooms, or spinach. If my pantry is full, I'm much less likely to get into trouble.

Loki: The bike looks nice. You made me jealous. So here is my bike that I should be getting in 23 days. (I have the money just not the time to drive to Louisville)

Here she is:

It is called the DiamondBack Wildwood Deluxe. It has a big seat. There is suspension on the front and back. Both tires are quick release and 24 speeds. drooool

I just need to find a helmut to fit my big head.
