hippyvanlady- I hope you do stick around. I'm new too, but I'd love to keep hearing from you. I often time tell my friends at TOPS (and yes, it is a great support group!!) that they don't know what it is to be 300 lbs (I was at 367), just like I don't know what it is to be over 500 lbs. I think there's a lot of lessons to be learned from everyone no matter what, and I am SO glad that you searched out the site. I know there's a lot of nice people here that welcome you. You will do it. I will do it. I know we all can. Like TOPS tells us, it's all about choices. I shall make you a promise. I will work extra hard this upcoming week in your honor if you continue to keep up the good fight. You inspire me b/c I know how hard it was for you to make the decision to change your life.
I just stopped in to let you guys know I weighed in at TOPS and lost 4.5lbs!!!! I am at the lowest weight I have been in SIX years...
Please excuse my . I am just a little excited.
Also, I was elected Leader at TOPS. I am excited and nervous. But I also have the task of setting an example for the members so that should give me another kick in the rump!!!!
for Scooter! You must feel awesome! last week when I saw that I was back in the 2's I felt like I was on so I know how excited you must be!
Tonight was rough...first tech rehearsal is never easy, but I had to go get dinner for the kids, and believe me, having to drive around with 9 hot fresh pizzas in my car was ****. Not to mention my car still smells like it. ARGH. Everyone was on edge and tempermental..I snapped at BF when he called (tsk tsk on me), but...it's over now and we can all move on.
Weigh-in is tomorrow (Wednesday) night. I hope I can post another loss. My pants feel looser and I am fitting into stuff I haven't worn in months..but I worry that the weekend threw me off..so we shall see. I'm going to wear my birthday tiara to WW...regardless of where I am it is STILL my birthday...I mean really, how many of those do I have a year?
I've been having tummy troubles the last few days. I think it's gas from an excess of soy...owie. Is this typical?
Hello Ladies!!!
My goodness, I am away for one day and I miss so much!
Welcome to our new members....and welcome back to Kerri (although I am new, and have not "met" you.)
Well, yesterday I think I did pretty well. I had a 6" Spicy Italian sub from Subway for lunch with more veggies than anything (I get everything except spinach, onions, and hot peppers) and when I got home last night I had 1 1/2 c. serving of my chicken soup with a roll (not so good, but I like to soak up the broth with bread) and breakfast was a granola bar...one of the new ones from Nature's valley.
Now for the good thing...well to me at least. I am down 2.5 lbs this week. Not bad considering my cruddy food choices this week. That and I am hoping that my father in law and I are going to join WW this week, I need that little extra accountability.
On a positive note, went to see WWE Raw last night with my BF, MIL, and a friend and had a blast. If any of you ladies are wrestling fans, you may understand my thrill at being able to go to a live show. It is amazing that my butt fit in the seats (they are made for tiny people....I swear it). But it did feel good to be able to sit back and not feel like I was going to break the seat.
So I guess that is it for now. I was hoping to join the 2x2 challenge but noticed that my name was not on the list...is it too late??
Well, I hope everyone has a good day tomorrow and is able to eat OP!!!
Good morning ladies, I am totally chicken this morning, there is no way I can post replies to everyone These threads are moving so fast! I have spent a good part of the night reading the post.
Synn, I don't think it is too late to join the 2x2 challenge. Just add your name to the roll. Congrats on the 2.5# loss.
I have another Dr. appt. this morning. I am going to get the old peepers examined and probalby have to have new glasses. I think all of this reading is ruining my eyesight! My arms quit being long enough years ago. I do believe they are printing everything smaller now days too!
Its never too late to join in on the 2x2's. For those that are new, that's our challenge to the group to focus on losing two pounds in two weeks and we tally up the group loss at the end. Not to worry if you don't get your name added to the list. Just post or PM your loss on that day whether you had "officially" joined or not.
Scooter!!
Happy Birthday Julee!
Make today a great OP day! No "hoping" - just do it!
I agree with everyone by the time you read all the posts, there's not much time to post yourself. But it's great. If I may throw in an unpaidunpolitically correct announcement: If there is ANYWAY you can possibally make it to SPRING FLING II in Detroit in Arpil, DO IT!!! You will get so much out of it both in getting to know these wonderful ladies, but also in motivation.[B] End of announcement
And while I was doing that Sis called and it's time to leave for the health club, I'll be back later to post and to wish happy birthday to Julee
Good morning everyone, It got below 60 degrees here in Florida, so I am huddled with the heat on. My walking is going to have to wait until this afternoon because my parka is in storage. I grew up in Oklahoma where I was not nearly so wimpy. I do not miss the snow or the dust, although if we have 4 more hurricanes this year, I may reconsider.
Since this is wednesday, my wish is to not lose hope. It is so easy to lose sight of the right road in a long journey. I think about the book the Count of Monte Cristo. In the end he talks about how he had to wish for death in order to really appreciate wanting to live. If you've never climbed out of a valley, you can't appreciate how high the mountain really is. Once on top of the mountain, you can really revel in each step taken. There was a time when people who wanted to climb Mount Everest had to hike weeks to even reach the base camp. Now they fly in.
For me, for today, I am going to be content in taking just one more baby step. I'm going to keep my eyes on my feet, and not on how long the road ahead of me is.
JULEE!!! So nice to see someone (years younger than me) not gripe about getting a year older!
Joyce: We're all thinking about you. Hope the tests go well.
Catherine: I had to laugh at the thought of people trying to stay warm bacause it's under 60! It's about 45 today here and I have a window open in my office, enjoying the cool, not cold, breeze. 60 is just a pleasant, springtime day! (I really need to move somewhere warmer! )
Scooter - and all you other "Losers": Good going! I hope I get to join you after my weigh-in tomorrow.
I think I did pretty well yesterday. Had my usual egg/cheese sandwich for breakfast (6 pts). Had a Lean Cuisine Pizza and salad (8 pts) for lunch and yogurt (2) for snack. Dinner was spaghetti and sauce. DH had 2 helpings...I had 1 1/2 but skipped the meatballs in favor of zucchini. So my total at end of dinner was 27 pts. I made some muffins I had a WW recipe for that are supposed to be 1 pt each and I admit I had to sample them...twice...but still was under pts for the day. I'm just hoping my recipe was right, because otherwise I'm having some mega points for breakfast eating 3 of the muffins! (Hey, they're small!)
Made soup for dinner tonight. I posted the recipe on the recipe thread. I thought it would be good as chilly as it has been. Catherine, maybe I should send you some.
Well Ladies, have a good day! Time to work! (A little at least!) Lilion
Hope everyone has had a great start to their day (we're already halfway through the week!). I was very excited to not have to brush any snow off my car this morning. It's the little things in life
Scooter...congrats on the virgin fat! AND on being elected TOPS leader!!! I'm sure you will do an EXCELLENT job, especially since you're such an inspiration due to your positive attitude and success!
Keri...I HATE those tiny seats! I don't usually have problems with movie theaters or anything, but I hate not being able to ride roller coasters But hey, that's what we're here for, right? We will fit in ALL seats in no time!
Iwillbe...I hear you on the reading ruining eyesight. I can tell a drastic difference in my distance vision since I have been working on computers 40+ hours a week. Staring at this screen cannot be healthy for my eyes (or my butt--this chair is brutal!)
hippievanlady...below 60, eh? I wish it would get above 50 here again! I am so ready for spring, especially after such a disappointing winter (grew up in Connecticut, so I'm used to MUCH more snow).
Lilion...great job staying within your points! I think if I had to stop and figure out how many points my food was worth, I would go crazy I have, however, found myself buying groceries that have nutrition content on the label (pre-packaged cheese and sandwich meat as opposed to deli, etc.) so I can keep better track of calories. I even bought a bag of apples because it had the nutrition facts on the bag...I just never trust calorie counters online or in books because so many of them have different values for the same thing! So I hear your hopes that the muffins are what they claim to be!
Time to pretend to do some actual work again so I don't get in trouble. I'm trying SO hard to stay awake today...I had a HORRIBLE headache last night for some reason--almost brought me to tears--very unusual for me to have a major headache, and 3 Tylenol didn't even budge it. Hopefully the headache will not make an encore appearance today and I will be able to sleep better tonight Anyway...have a great day, everyone!!
Since Barbg posted such a great plug for Spring Fling II (thanks, Barbg), I thought I would once again, because there are sooooo many new folks, let you know that: 1. reservations have been made, 2. there is always room for more, AND 3. you can get all of the info by PMing me your snail mail address so I can mail you out a packet.
