Hello Chickies -
Popping in for a few minutes while I enjoy some quiet time at home. DH is slowly on the mend, but I have to play nurse Barb everynight for a while when he gets home. He's improving, but will only continue to do so is we keep up with bathing and medication routine we have going. If I don't wait on him like a little kid he won't do it himself. Men! Gotta love 'em. He was very sweet tonight telling me how much he appreciates everything I am doing for him.

I started acupuncture today with a new Dr. It felt really good to go again. I feel so calm and relaxed after the sessions. And, I have not had a headache today --- first time in 4 days! The atmosphere in this office is not nearly as nice as the one I use to go to, but his cost and appt. times work better for me and the treatment is the same. I'll go twice a week for the next 3-4 weeks (until we get through the IVF cycle).

Tonight I picked up some Chicken Chili from Panera and made a nice salad w/ homemade vinegrette. It was yummy. Then I hopped on the exercise bike for a little bit.

Susie - Sorry about the lousy time you are having at your house right now. However --- like you said you have the shining star of going to FL in a few days! ENJOY!!!! I can't wait to take another vacation!

Leanne - I am glad to hear that you are starting to feel a teeny bit better.

Terri - Sounds like Bear will have sweet dreams on his new bed! So cute!

Pardon the short list, but I have so much that I want to do before relaxing for a bit tonight!

Talk to you later!

Barb

Hi all! Thanks everyone for the wonderful birthday wishes! You guys are so sweet.

I worked a bit today and then my friend came from accross town and we had a llllloooonnnnnggggg lunch. Tonight I opted for pizza and the boys are here. That's like my favorite birthday....having my kids here. I guess I have come to the realization that this may be the last year they are both home. Both have hinted that they would like to buy houses this year so by next year it may be just Honey and I.

I can't stay as I have two reports from jobs to write up and then get back out to the "party". "Party" which is them watching Alias and me sleeping on the couch! Can you tell I'm getting old????

See you all later. Thanks again for the birthday greetings. Love ya bunches!

Good evening ladies... morning I guess. LOL
I had a lousy day today... nothing went right for me. Grrr
BUT .... my food was GREAT once again. In fact... my water was MORE than required and I journaled ... so it is a good day there.

A set a plan for today... and nothing went right. I came home about 5pm and the electricity went out in our area. Grrrrr I did not want to sit in a dark house alone .. so I headed out to shop or go to a movie alone. ( Hubby had other commitments tonight.) The power still wasn't back on at 10pm GRrrrr again. When it did finally come back on... now my garage door won't open.

Oh well .... I guess I had a GREAT day if my food and water was Great.

Not doing replys tonight. Sounds like everyone is doing pretty good.
Thin... your birthday sounds about as exciting as mine usually. LOL
I always FORCE my hubby to take me out to eat and a movie... but then right back home. yawn LOL

See everyone tomorrow.

Good Morning. Yes, I'm ready for an 'on-plan' day! I'm skipping my cardio today because I have a sore glut (glute?) Anyway, bottom. I overdid a hamstring exercise the other day and things haven't been the same since. So I'll just be concentrating on upper body today.

Next week (Tuesday) DH and I are making a trip to the big city (Las Cruces) which is 2 hours away, to do some shopping. We'll be eating at our favorite Mexican resteraunt, La Posta. Mmmmm... We're doing Body for Life, which allows one day 'off' per week, so we'll be swapping our Sunday day off for Tuesday. That way I won't feel guilty about eating Mexican food.

I'm hungry now!

2cute - I hope today is better for you than yesterday, but good on you for keeping with your food! That's great!

More later, I'm sure! Have a great day, everyone!

Thumbs up Thankful Thursday

RISE AND SHINE LADIES !!!!!!
It is a new day... a new beginning. Let's follow Barbg's and Qadia's fine examples and get our bodies MOVING.
I wish I could remember the words to songs. I want to sing a song I heard on tv this morning. ( 2cute clearing voice.... Get up off of that thing... shake your body. Get up off of that thing....hmm hmm hmm . ) As you can see.. I am inspired today.

Barbg ... I noticed on your ticker it still says 6lbs. You need to add your those wonderful 8 lbs you lost recently. That ticker of yours keep my on track .... Detroit Goal. I don't want to go to that and not lost a pound. So far so good ... I follow the theme of .... " Good , better, best .... I won't quit trying until my good is better and my better is BEST !!!" Progress... Progress ... Progress !!!!

Qadira... Oh how I LOVE Mexican food. MMmm
I always substitute my rice and beans for salad and leave the flour tortillas alone... but I am weak when it comes to those chips and salsa while waiting for your food.

Well ... I am going to go house shopping with my youngest daughter today.
I may surprise her and take her to lunch and a movie too. Gotta go shower and get going.
Qadira... "I am ready for an OP day !!!"

Morning, ladies! This is just a fly by as I really need to get out of here and get to work.

Yesterday was a very laid back birthday. We ordered pizza and stayed in for the evening. Honey bought a small cake and we did not have ice cream to go with it. The "baby" bought dinner for my present, #1 son got me The Terminal on DVD and a Shania Twain Greatest Hits CD, and Honey got me sapphire earrings and matching studs. We watched TV and that was about it. The "baby" didn't feel well so he pretty much slept other than to eat pizza and come back down for cake.

I'm back OP today and feeling all energized now that some of the stresses are gone from my life. Mother Nature has decided to visit after a long bought with nasty symptoms so all is getting right with the world!

2cute: Have fun house hunting. That should be a great time. What movie are you thinking of seeing? We worked so much during the holidays that we didn't really get to "see" much of anything.

Qadira: Sounds like quite an excursion to get to the "big city". You must really be out in the boonies!

Barbg: How's that new plan of yours working out? Is it easy to follow?

Marcie: I'm READY!!!

Thanks again everyone for the wonderful birthday wishes. I didn't go back any further than this morning's posts so if you're not listed her, it's not that I don't love you, it's just that I ran out of time.

I owe, I owe, so off to work I go........

Hey everyone i think its about time I reply to everyone.. but I'm just starting from this post. ;P

Kari - good luck with weighing in! I hope you'll be happy with the outcome I think diets are really just fitting to each person uniquely. Lower calorie is good for me, while I could never do lowcarb/high protein or whatever.. I don't eat much meat at all or dairy, but mostly breads - which is "Wrong" but I cant just change who I am ! If it works, it works! 3 days of working out is awesome

Jibbelle - dog walks are great.. I miss having dogs.. I cant walk my kitty sadly though I do run up and down the stairs and all around the house with him!

Susie - I hate the TOM.. oh boy.. I just finished mine.. it makes me so miserable! So uncomfy.. I hope you feel better soon! Where in FL are you going? I live in Tampa Bay, and it is still pretty chilly and windy here - looks like rain too.. I hope where ever you go you have an awesome time!

Barbpa - You know.. though so many hate "slaving" and "Serving" I never loved anything more than babying my man - especially when they're sick Especially when they appreciate it a lot. My boss gets acupuncture weekly or so.. and loves it, I dont know if I could ever do it though!

Thin - Happy Belated BDAY! It sounds like you had a good one I love hearing you talk about your "Baby" and such.. we didn't celebrate my moms birthday almost all of my childhood, but this past one I planned a surprise birthday party for her and she was so happy - bawled like a baby. I hope your sons come to visit often even after they move out/away

2cute - oh I hate not having electricity! The power seems to go out here just with a simple gust of wind. It was so horrible the last year (as I'm sure most have heard of all the hurricanes here in FL) .. and our 13 days of no/partial electricity. We also didnt have it for 3 days the other week as well. No Fun! I also love hearing about your mommy stuff! I love when my mom wants to take me out, its not often.. but I love every moment of it.

Barb - have fun with your water aerobics! I miss swimming, I grew up with a pool and swam constantly.. we have pools here at the apartment.. but for some reason I'm too chicken to swim in a public pool in the middle of an apartment complex full of college students

Qadira - its funny you are having problems with your gluts/hamstrings.. I spent all morning looking up exercises just for those muscles! Mmm Mexican! I havent had mexican food in so long Enjoy it!

I hope thats everyone!

I'm actually extremely stressed at the moment.. lots of school problems still but I'm dealing! I've gotta run but I hope you all are doing great, I'll check in later.

Hey guys! Mary wtg on getting in some time on the treadmill. Hubby and I are going to the gym tonight. We went last night, but I wasn't feeling well yesterday so all I did was the bike. I started feeling dizzy after 20 minutes so that was it for me. I'm feeling better today so I'm looking to do more. Thin- glad to hear you had a good birthday. We hung out at home for my birthday too. Well hubby did take me out to breakfast. Sometimes a laid back day is just what you need. Gotta go help my son with his homework before making dinner. They just came in from outside. It is 65 degrees here today. How crazy is that? I love it, but it's going to be in the 30's by the weekend. No wonder everyone is getting sick. Talk to you all later.

Just a quickie before going out to dinner. Just me and the Honey. It's a pretty ritzy joint, I guess. A "job" of course or we wouldn't be going. $130 reimbursement so I think we'll be "stylin'".

MaryB: Who makes those cones you were mentioning. Are they Slim a Bear or WW or something?

Mary: The treadmill! You go girl! BTW, I think I forgot to congratulate you on being under 200 again. That's GREAT!

CD: Sorry you're still having school problems. I think you thought you had that all worked out, didn't ya? * My folks used to have a winter place not far down the coast from you: Ruskin/Sun City area. It was nice down that way, but I guess you still get pretty good weather changes whereas the folks further south probably have it warm all the time.

Steph: The pics are great! You and Bob make such a nice couple. I love the Vin Diesel thing he's got goin' on!

Gotta run and change clothes. I'm thinking jeans and a tee shirt are probably not proper attire for dinner this evening. See you all later. Love ya bunches!
