Smile

I almost did not even come in here tonight. I fell asleep in my hubbys chair and woke up from a phone call. I knew I should just go to bed ... but what can I say. Here I am. LOL

Andria.... Scope ... ACL .... OUCH !!! It sounds like you may be doing sit down exercises with me. LOL
My mother and sister were both big crocheters. They have made a lot of beautiful stuff. My mom made my youngest daughter a baby blanket for her first child before mom died ... BUT... my daughter does not know it. It will be a surprise !!! I know she will start crying when she receives it. It is neatly wrapped in baby paper hidden in my closet. This month mom will be gone 1 year. I swear I think of her more now than when she died.

Angela... I posted that article on water. Made a new thread for it.
I also lose more when I drink water. There is something about your liver and losing weight when you drink water. Read that article. It is longg but worth it. It is best to spread your water out than to drink it all in the morning or such.
I will tell you ... what I told my kids about cleaning their rooms..
it applies to drinking water here too....
You don't have to 'want to'..... you just have to 'do it' !!!
That's from the OLD MOTHER HEN... not the COOL 2CUTE CHICK LOL

Terri... {{{ HUGS }}} Been there/done that !!! Me and my daughter.
I fought for my innocence with the insurance company and won.
My daughter had NO DAMAGE and got stuck paying for other car !!! Grrrr
When she asked her insurance agent WHY ??? He said... "I guess she fought harder." NUFF SAID !!

Thin... I remember you and those dreaded PB cups.
I thought of you today when I ate a serving of mini SUGAR FREE PB cups.
It is made with that new sugar substitute that gives you .... diarrhea. Needless to say... I won't be cheating on those. (Nuff said)

I am glad several of you are receiving your TURKEYS ... finally.
I warned you they would be juvenile and silly ... but still fun.
He just makes me "SMILE " everytime I look at him.
I got 3 of 4 today. No credit of exerercise....even though I walked/RAN several miles to and from the bathroom after those SF/PC cups

Heck... I still have on hour before midnight.... I just may go do it.

Thankful Thursday....
I am thankful for my cyber friends
I am thankful for the opportunity to work on this silly game.
I am thankful for my willingness
I am thankful for my family
I am thankful for my life.

Default Heeeeeeere's Skittles!

Hi all

I am sorry that I have been gone so long. I have about 5 threads to catch up on. I have been sicker than a dog. And trying to get going on this new insurance job. So I am working two jobs right now and recovering from being sick. I have classes all day this weekend and next weekend. But right now it is all worth it for this career change.

I have to go back and try to read everybodies posts from the past week. I did see something about Christmas card exchange, I'll be in on that. And I saw something about Turkeys, what is up with Turkeys? Thanksgiving is just a few weeks away.
Anyway, I have missed you all. I m going to go and try to read a bit to catch up some before I go to work. I hope you are all doing well.

Good Morning! TGIF!!
I am sitting here eating my oatmeal, having a nice cup of hot tea and have a BIG cup of water for the morning. It's my work at home day and I am sitting here in my jammies!

Yesterday I did my exercise, journaling and water! I can not take credit for a good food day. Today I will get everything in!

I finally faced the music this morning and got back on the scale! Not a big surprise to me that I have gained some weight back. I'm not going to let it get me down, I'm going to use it as motivation to get right back on track.

Terri - Ugh! I am sorry about your lousy evening! I hope you don't have to pay anything for that ding-dong hitting your car.

I've got a conference call in a few min so I am going to run for now!
Have a super day!

Just stopping in before I leave for the club. Walking and Water Aerobics are waiting. But will go on whether I'm there or not, so I have to make the effort to get up out of my chair and leave!

I just read the most enlightening and entertaining article about the Scales. If I have time and can figure out how to do it, I'll post it later today. If not, I'll tell you where to find it.

I had another good day yesterday, and great plans for today. The weekends are usually my downfall, but I'm already making a plan for them.

Have a great day everyone!

Morning all!

Skittles: Good to see you back. I was worried about you.

2cute: I didn't mean you have too much time on your hands by being here, I meant by all the hard work you did putting the game together for us. You're 2Good!!!

BarbPA: Working in your jammies! OMG! Somebody else does that too???? I've been such a slug this week. Need to beef up my schedule. I planned light so I could get something done around here, and I did nothing.

Barbg: Good for you going to the club on a regular basis. I'm soooo proud of you!

Angela: I have to tell you that caffeine is something else I gave up cold turkey. It was when I first started WW because you can substitute up to 3 waters for other no calories, no caffeine beverages. That means Crystal Light, the flavored waters, coffee, tea. So I just gave up the caffeine. It was TERRIBLE. I went through 2 weeks of HORRIBLE headaches. But I DID IT! I also gave up Pepsi at the same time (actually that's where all my caffeine came from). It was a real addiction. It was probably almost a month before I even had a Diet Pepsi or Coke. I didn't switch over, I just gave it up. Now I do have a Diet Coke or Pepsi when I'm out, but only after I've gotten in my water.

Well, ladies, I must run. Have to work today. I've been lazy far too long. See you all later. Love ya bunches.

Hey all...Quickie post so I get credit...or does it have to be on the Turkey thread? Whatever...I have 2 good days under my belt. Several times I have actually had my hand out, heading for the cookie jar, and I shake my head, say "NO CHEATING" out loud, and pull that hand back like I just touched a hot stove!!!! The turkey commands compliance and determination! I must obey!

Last night I had planned on getting a good 45 minute walk in while my son was at Karate...but it was pouring... I would have gone if it was just raining, but it was POURING BUCKETS OF RAIN DOWN, I tell you!!! So I went to the library instead and started to read a very good self help book by Dr Wayne W. Dyer. I have to go to my local library and see if they have it...then I will post the name because I forgot it. When I got home, I had to eat dinner and get my pre-work nap in. But I still hadn't exercised! How could I leave a blank spot on the turkey's tail??? On Day 2?? No. I found an old Kathy Smith Timesaver Cardio Fit Something or Other tape and popped it in...and got 20 minutes of cardio and about 10 minutes of stretching in.

I'm scaring myself!

I have to sleep now.

One more thing...(Another water advocate heard from)
Angela:WATER. DRINK IT. IT'S GOOD FOR YOU!
Not just for weight loss, for everything...all bodily functions rely on being well hydrated. Your body needs it and will thank you when you start guzzling!

Okay...off to bed.

See you later!

Default Thanks

Only have a minute as I am running out the office to meet Thin for lunch, but wanted to say thanks to 2Cute for thinking of me and sending me the turkey packet for the challenge.

Geez, water fanatics. Seriously, I know water's generally good for you and all. And I know I should. There's just really only so many things I think I can change at one time. I'll try to start upping it gradually, since you're all convinced. But I'm sorry, there's no way I'm giving up coffee. I gave up cream and sugar in the coffee about 7 years ago, but I can't give up the precious black core itself.

Skittles--Sorry you've been so sick--all better now?

BarbPA--I'm kinda starting over too, gained a couple pounds back in the last few months. We're still here! We can do it! We have will power!

Kat--You make me laugh! The turkey demands compliance. I didn't get in on the turkey, but now I'm imagining a live one following me around, demanding compliance. My new imaginary friend.

Oi, I hate Fridays. Why? Because I have the day off.. and for some reason - even though I have many other days off.. Friday I just can't get myself out of bed. I just sleep and sleep and sleep, and feel cold.. then sleep some more. Usually I get out of bed by 12ish but thats still late I have Monday and the weekend off too - and don't have this problem then!

I haven't been doing as well as I've been planning (old news, eh?). I've amped up my water (from nothing to at the least 40oz a day), even though it was too late to work out last night - I still did situps and leg exercises for 20 minutes, I've been eating pretty well (despite still missing breakfast, a nutter bar..)

Skittles - its good to see you back, I hope you're feeling much better now.

I need to put the turkey up on my wall! I'm about to go post an entry in my online journal about some issues I have with being overweight, then I will get back on track with everything.

Oi! I don't know what else to say... so I guess I'll just say that I hope everyone has an awesome Friday and weekend and good luck with food, exercise, etc

Post What a long, strange trip it's been...

Hello ladies,

Well, after a hiatus of a few days, I am back. Things are pretty much back to normal now. I chalk my mood the other day up to mostly "monthly" stuff, stress and not enough sleep. Thank you so much for your supportive posts, I deeply appreciate it.

I have read every post and am caught up with everyone's news. Glad to see that everyone seems to be doing really well with food, water intake and exercise.

Terri: Sorry about your awful night, hon. I bet we can all relate to having had some idiot who got their license out of a Cracker Jack box run into us and then all of a sudden it's OUR fault. The way I keep sane during those kinds of things is to imagine that in their next life, those nitwits will return as crash test dummies!!

CD: Ahhhh...sleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep. Gosh, with a 2 1/2 year old I've almost forgotten what it's like to be able to roll over and say "what the heck" and go back to sleep in the a.m. Enjoy it!

I have done pretty okay with food, awesome, as always with water (I drink about 100 oz./day and always have) but exercise has sucked BIG time. I went to Curves on Monday and haven't gone since. DH doesn't work until 10:30 am tomorrow, so I plan to get my butt there by 9 a.m. so I can claim at least 2 days of exercise this week.

I guess that's about it. Oh, unless of course we count the phone call I got last night from DH's psycho sister from **** in England. She should be hospitalized but no one in his family will deal with her. She called last night to inform me that I should never have married her brother because he's a no good, rotten S.O.B. and that he doesn't deserve to be happy. She then threatened to kill me and our daughter. She has been nuts her whole life, but lives on her own now after going off her medication and divorcing her husband last year after a year of marriage. He is a saint to have put up with her that long. Needless to say, my DH was fit to be tied last night. After she "disowned" him (like he cares ) awhile back, he wrote and told her to NEVER contact us again. He now wants to get our phone number changed and unlisted, but I am refusing. I will not let her dictate how we live our life.

Okay, enough of that crap. Gotta run, little one is up from her nap. Have a great evening!

TTFN

Thumbs up

Hey SKITTLES !!! Welcome back. Sorry to hear you have been so sick. Sounds like your life is pretty chaotic right now.
I won't go back into the details of the Turkey Challenge. When you read the old posts it will all make sense... plus there is a Turkey thread too.

Barb... I am glad you are not going to let the past stop your future. Just accept where you are and go FORWARD from there. But then.. I know you know that already. You are a wise woman. This weight loss journey is seldom a straight and narrow road. It usually throws us a lot of curves we have to adjust for.

Barbg... Your post sounds like a winner to me.
Quote... "I have to make the effort " ... YES... that is what we all have to do. Keep it up !!
I am looking forward to reading that article.
WEEKENDS !!!! They are a downfall for most people. It requires a LOT of extra effort. YOU CAN DO IT !!! .... WE ALL CAN !!!!

Thin.... have you noticed all the "positive changes" you have already made.
Giving up caffeine ... peanut butter cups ... drinking water.
Pat yourself on the back. It was HARD but you did it.
Your next challenge may be hard too... but you know you can do it... because you already have proven you have it in you.

KAT.... 2 good days under your belt. WAY TO GO !!!
The COMMANDO will be sooo proud.
Don't be scared from exercising....
be afraid of the COMMANDO TURKEY if you don't.
Oh yeah, You only need to post here... not necessarily in the Turkey thread.

Susie... Your welcome.
I am bound and determined to DRAGGGG you back here.
Hope you and Thin had a great lunch.

Angela... another thing I learned long ago.... NEVER SAY NEVER.
It will come back to bite you in the butt. LOL
And for the "imaginary friend" .... trust me...
HE IS NOT IMAGINARY !!!!
He will come gobble you up if you don't COMPLY !!!!

CD... what GREAT progress you are making. From o to 40 oz is SUPER !!!!
That is exactly how I started too. If it were not for this Turkey Contest... I would still be only drinking 40. I needed that little PUSH to get me drinking more.
I have one Turkey on my refrig and one on my desk with my computer. I need all the encouragement I can get. Actually it keeps those two words embedded in my feeble little brain....
Discipline !!! and Commitment !!!
I am serious about staying ON THE LINE.

Okay.. I am going to go exercise NOW !!!
No waiting until 11:40pm for me today.

HI
Just caught up from a week ago. Whew, so many stories, so little time!
I drink lots of water too, it makes me run to the toilet or wet my drawers. End of story.
Thanks for the Turkey 2Cute. I got it yesterday, so I missed Wednesday's challenge. I have one sticker for yesterday and onw for today. The water thing. I may get 20 minutes in after I leave my Work-at-home chair in a few.
We are bringing in plants today in anticipation of the first frost of the season. I don't look forward to this, my plants are messy and in the way. i really need a greenhouse.
Now DH wants to run out to Wally World. Ok, bye for now, gotta go!

Good evening! I am having a great food day, did my 20 minutes of exercise, drank my water but didn't journal. There's always something that gets left out!

For the people having a hard time with the water, you can count the flavored water at Walmart. It tastes pretty good with no points, no calories etc etc etc. and its usually on sale for 2 bottles for $1.00. thats how I get most of my water in!

Still have work to do on this house. I have one box left in the kitchen to do then thats all set. John hung the blind in the kitchen window today and put the curtain up! Looks like home now! I love my kitchen!

Well I better get going and get the boy ready for bed! He's tired!
