I have some very sad news.

Please, all of you bow your heads and say a little prayer. My “huge a$$ green ball” died.

I had some suspicions yesterday because it was so low on air but then I haven’t used it in two months sooooooo.

I pumped it up, used it and realized I really liked it. I felt my muscles working and it was good.

Then later I noticed it looked smaller. I went over and pushed on it and it was “smooshie”.

I don’t know if something happened to it when my nieces and nephews were in the house – alone?????? Or what.

NOW the big decision is to get another one????????????????? Maybe I will check Ebay????

Hey everyone

Just checking in. I slept through my chance to go to Curves today, so I'm about to head out on a walk with the girls. The weather outside is just gorgeous. We finally got rain! Hopefully it put out some of the fires around here and didn't start any new ones. Things are so dry, the storms that have been wandering through are causing more damage than they are alleviating with the teensy bits of moisture they leave behind.

This week is a busy one, but I think I can get through ok with the promise of so much fun and relaxation next week. I need this break desperately. I've been feeling so totally burned out. I've actually missed a writing deadline and still haven't been able to make myself sit down and write out the lousy 800-1000 words. It isn't like it is a big deal, it is just that I'm so tired, and part of me really wants to let this particular writing gig drop. They pay about 2 cents a word (no, I'm not kidding!), and the extra work of finding people to interview weekly as well as the time to do it really has me worn down. The thing is, I'm worried that I'll miss even that measly sum if Adam pulls his usual losing his job in the fall routine. I guess it would help if I could catch up to these guys to get checks for the three pieces I've already written.

Enough whining! The girls have decided they don't want to walk. One wants to IM her cousin and the other wants to watch a movie she has watched a zillion times already. I'm going to go out and enjoy the evening despite these two slug wannabes. There is something so sad to missing the sun for an entire day. I can honestly say that I despise working nights.

Guess I wasn't actually finished with the whining... Well, I am now! Walk and then some dinner, and I should feel like a new woman.

Good Morning Ladies,

I am new to the forum and thinthinker has been so kind as to let me know where to go and what to do. Thanks thinthinker. I posted a little intro message out on the forum in a new discussion, before I knew exactly where everyone was. I look forward to talking with you all. I have read this thread and you all sound like a wonderful group of people. And I'm not saying that just because thin said you all were either.
I am 36, feel like I am 28, only cause my husband is 8 years younger than me. We don't have children, I can't actually have any. So we have 2 cats, 2 rats, and a fish. I want a dog too, but that will have to wait until we have a house.
Anyway, I have questions.

1) For those of you who do water activities, do you find that it is a good workout? I love the water and when I am allowed in the pool again that is one of the things I would like to do. (I just had surgery so I cannot go in the water yet)

2) thin, I read on one of the posts that you have a pilates machine, do you like it? Does it make any of the moves easier to do? Does it help support certain areas?

3) This is for everyone, What is your biggest motivator when you don't feel like doing anything or you are too tired to do anything? What makes you get up and go?

Barb G. I don't know if this will help you or not, but for your laptop, I had the same problem and I hit the little reset button on the bottom. You have to use a pin to do it cause it is inside. I don't know if yours has one or not, but mine is a Compac. I also had to reinstall all of my programs. It worked fine after that. It was a virus, and I haven't had any problems since then. But I also haven't connected it to the internet since then either. Hope this helps.

Hey everyone

Welcome Skittles! Good questions to think about this morning.

1) Water is the best! Whether to drink or to exercise in, it is hard to get enough. A water workout is really fantastic for recovery after a surgery especially. Happy accident led me to water aerobic classes after a uterine surgery. The quick build up of strength and overall feeling of wellness kept me there.

2) Thin, I'd love to hear the answer to this one.

3) My biggest motivator right now has been a concrete goal and a fun challenge. Once you get the weight loss ball rolling, it tends to gather no moss. You want to perpetuate that great feeling; it is pretty addictive. As far as keeping it going... sometimes it has to slow down, and your body doesn't give you much of a choice in accepting that. But I've seen more than one of us work through plateaus here. That is where the group comes in. When we are down, someone here picks us up, reminds us to dust off (put down the chocolate donut and back away from the table! ), and we move on. I know I get through my own bad places much faster with the group than without. And I also know that sitting on my backside won't get me where I want to be, it just helps me maintain where I am at. I honestly cannot live like that anymore.

Well, there you go... a morning diatribe arriving before breakfast! I'm trying to get myself motivated to do some writing before staff meeting at the cheap paper I whined about yesterday. If I go in with my tail tucked between my legs and a fresh piece in my hand, they might not let me go. And if not, it isn't like I'm out tons and tons. I'll collect the checks for the last month and a half and move on. We'll call it a reminder to not play at being SuperWoman if I'm unwilling to don the cape.

Got to go, my day awaits!

Wow, is it hot and HUMID here today! I was just looking at the forecast though, and they are predicting radical drops in temp in the next few days... 60 to 70 degrees during the day and 40-50 degrees at night! Ahhhhh, I can't wait to open my windows again! Bring on the 40s I say!

Hi Andria! So? Did you make your deadline? For two cents a word, (and your writing is so good) I'd tell them to stick it! Free yourself up some time to just be. Or time for taking walks with y our girls. Working nights is hard enough, who wants to have to think too? Good to see you back with us! I love reading your "diatribes!"

Welcome, Skittles! I was thinking, "Aw, isn't that a cute name"...and then the light bulb went on...Skittles+rainbow=SKITTLES! MMM! Candy! My powers of reason and deduction amaze even me sometimes...

To answer your questions:

Water aerobics...YES! I LOVE it! It's fun, it's versatile, it's a GREAT workout, it doesn't feel like exercise, it's easy on the joints, did I mention it's fun? Go for it!

Thin's Pilates machine...this I can't wait to hear about! I like Pilates, but never tried the machine.

Motivation...I find that recording my weight and progress here is motivating. I do not want to have to post a gain. I'm trying to keep in mind that I like to exercise and sweat and that I also like how it makes me feel when I'm done. That re-energized feeling as opposed to that sluggish feeling i get when I eat too much. This group of women is a great motivation too. I find that I want to do well for them. When I'm on a roll...I can't wait to share with these girls and get the positive feedback and encouragement...On the other side of the coin, it's great to come here and vent and get that gentle push or that kick in the butt that I need to get me back on track!

Barb, I've been thinking about you all day. Sending nothing but good thoughts and hopeful prayers!

Lucky, I'm glad you found a new big A$$ ball! I was going to suggest a bike repair kit to patch the old one. Keep on bouncing, baby!

Thin, I hope Mom is doing well. You've sure got your plate full lately. I hope your dinner cruise with hubby was just the escape that you needed!

Aw, shucks gals --- thanks for thinking of me today! I am happy to report that I am more optomistic today than I have been in months! We LOVE our new doctor! There was not a doubt that we were immediately switching to him. He was very personable and real with us. He was very surprised at some of the things our old doc said and did (or didn't do in most cases). So, I am going to have a few blood tests done and then we are going to start this up again. We've decided to take a few months off and I am going to try my damnest to lose some weight before we go for round 3! Third times a charm, right?? We'll try again sometime Oct-Dec --- just depends on when my period starts and it's really a 2 month process because you take a month of BCP before starting. Jeff will also have to see a new uroligist and may have to have another surgery. I am so happy that we made the choice to go see him!!! I would be devastated if we gave up our dreams of having a child with all kinds of questions in our head.

So, I am back into the getting healthy and losing weight mode!!! By the time I start again I want to be down 20-30 pounds. I know I can do it and I am so happy to have you all here for support. I love you guys!!!

Gosh, just typing this I feel like a HUGE cloud has been lifted!!!

I want to do personals, but I can't right now.....you want to know why??? I am going to exercise while I watch Big Brother.

Hi everyone! Mom is home from the hospital. She will be fine if she learns to simmer down and not try to be "play at being SuperWoman" without "donning the cape!" (gosh, Andria, I love that!) She was going to take a pain pill today so that she could stand up longer. I told her "no, no, no. Let the pain be your guide as to when it's time to sit down and rest!" OMG, she'll be the death of me yet.

I did tell her Monday that if she behaved herself Monday and today that I would take her out to lunch tomorrow. And if she does well there I'll let her go to the morning session of cards at church on Thursday morning!!! Ahhhhh, the power of having the car keys!

Honey and #1 Son have installed grab bars in her tub so she can take a shower and be safe. I'm ordering her extender blocks to raise her toilet seat so that will be easier for her. Then honey is going to install a grab bar next to the toilet so that she can get up easier.

Her first appointment with out patient physical therapy is Thursday afternoon. Then we'll see what kind of schedule she's on. They said that it's usually two or three times a week for about four weeks. FUN!!!

My weightloss efforts have been pretty much NONE lately. It's been all I can do to keep up with my laundry and run back and forth to the hospital. I did jump on the scale Monday morning and was up 4.5 pounds since July 15th. No excuses. Just been busy and that's NOT an excuse either. Too much other stuff on my mind and I've been doing alot of fast food because I've been on the go so much. I did cook tonight. Yeah, right! Rotisserie chicken, instant mashed pototoes and corn. WooHoo! At least it wasn't fast food or a restaurant! That's a plus.

Terri: Your latest ride sounds wonderful. It's always fun exploring different areas. You said you wanted to talk to Grizzlefart for his side of the story, but I don't think you said what his side was. Or did I miss it?

Andria: 2 cents a word hardly sounds like enough to feed a family on. Oh my! And you're such a good writer. Seems like there should be better paying writing jobs out there. * I'm glad you're getting to take a little vacation. I'm sure it will be good to get away.

Kit: How did the wallpapering go? I gave up on that some years ago. Now I "sponge paint" all my walls. Gives them a nice print without all the hassle of papering AND when I get tired of it, I can just paint over it.

BarbPA: I'm so happy for you and Jeff that you were able to find some encouragement from this new Dr. [[[hugs]]] That's wonderful news that he feels like there is still a good chance for you guys.

Katrina: WELCOME BACK!!! I had to laugh, I bet you had trouble typing Thin and Pilates machine in the same sentence! But yes, I fell and bumped my head last week and spent $400 and some odd dollars on a Pilates machine, stand (cuz my poor knees wouldn't allow me to get down on the floor) and cardio board (mini, vertical trampoline).

Lucky: I'm so glad you found a new "big A$$ green ball". BTW, is the new one green too????? I'm actually happier that you found you enjoyed it. I just know that if I could "like" sweating that exercise would be more fun!!!

Mary: Tell your brother to "get over it" and just love the baby when he gets him and leave the woman alone. She doesn't know how good she had it and besides, he's got a new lady now anyway.

Barbg: Any luck getting the laptop going? I forgot to ask #1 Son about your troubles, but I'll try to remember to do it tonight. I think I'll leave this page open, then when I sit down tonight to shut my computer off it will remind me to ask him.

Skittles: Shhhhhh, you shouldn't tell them all that I said they were a "wonderful group of people". They'll all get BIG heads and think I really like them or something! Really though, I'm glad you found your way over here. I'm sorry to say that I don't have my Pilates machine yet. I got the stand for it yesterday and really expected the machine itself to arrive with it, but it didn't come today either. Soooooo, here I wait. I'm trying not to let my enthusiasm for the thing go down the drain in the meantime.

Lisa: I know you're off camping, but I wanted to tell you that I'm hoping you and your daughter are having a wonderful time.

2cute: Do we get you back in 2 weeks? How's the computer hunting going??? Or are you too busy doing other things?

Wow! i caught up with the posts tonight, it was good to read everyone's notes. You guys are so good, horseback riding, swimming, going to the gym...give yourselves a hand! In this busy life, to squeeze room in for your own health is noteworthy.
