Hello all,

I know I've been AWOL for a few days...i was just going through some down times and i didn't feel like burdoning you all ..especially since i had just ranted last week. it seems selfish to pop in here when im down and can only think of myself! i know a lot of you will argue but i stand my ground!!
Today was abig step for me...(even if i did have a piece of chocolate cake...)...I starting doing my exercises again. and let me tell you..toning exercises are nothing compared to the cardio exercises that race your heart. i always forget that too! even though i made a baby step and did half a mile (my leg injury after all) i felt wonderful. i'm going to do the half a mile every day until next week when i can start doing a mile and then eventually work myself up to 3 miles (there was a time when i did 3 miles in 40 minutes!!)

take care all..
Melissa

Hi all! I'm supposed to be out working and where am I??? Here, with all my friends! Couldn't help but peek in. Just stopped home for a minute, but you were all calling to me from the office. I heard you!!!!

Been out doing "bra jobs" this week and then of course if that wasn't enough, I popped in a couple of groceries and banks as well. Such a gluton for punishment, I am.

Jen: It's so good to see you peeking in. 2cute's right! We did get alot out of your post for someone who didn't have anything to say! I liked how she interpreted the Dr. Phil book thing, "It told us you are not reading Dr. Phil's book.... yet, and that you will be shopping today... but don't expect to buy it." That's EXACTLY what I read into your words too. You can't hide anything from us wise old (sorry 2cute, I'm lumping us together ) women!!!! On the subject of not "having lost enough" to go back home: Oh honey, it's home. It's the place you should always feel comfortable to go back to. They don't care if you're thin as a rail or big as a house, they're your family. Go home and let them comfort you and help you make the waiting easier for your honey to get home. Don't stress yourself about what they'll think or not think. You've got enough stress in your life right now to not add to it. [[[hugs]]]

Terri: You're "tip" was GREAT! You are so right! We all do the back-handed compliments, even on ourselves. How many times have we said, "I love my hair, but...." or "That's was a great movie, however...." It's no different than the backhanded way that we sabotage ourselves in not just our actions, but in our words too. It's those "buts" and "howevers" that will get us every time.

BarbPA: Good Afternoon!

2cute: Ok, made the appointment, mom. June 4th, 8:00 AM.

Susie: Sure, lunch sounds great! One day next week. Tuesday or Wednesday maybe? * PS. Rob's already getting the million, Vote for Rupert!!!! Besides, Rob's not as cute without the fur on his face!

Melissa: You can always come here and dump on us. Don't feel like you can't. Sounds like you're going to get right back up to speed with the walking. Hope your leg continues to feel stronger.

Lucky: Where are you today? You held down the fort the whole weekend almost entirely by yourself, now that others have come out to play, you've gone into hiding. Must be working yourself to death once again.

Well girls, I've proceeded to kill an hour and a half. Now I really do need to get back out to work. See yous all later. Love ya bunches.

Red face Crunch time

Hi friends
Sorry for not being here more often, but this is my last week of school and I finished up my projects last week and on the weekend. My thought was that I only had at least 2-3 tests to do, but NOOoo! I am having to do essays and summaries and regular homework. So here I am crunching for time and eating whatever I can get my hands on, which seems to be nothing because it all has to be cooked, (don't have any fast food or snacks) well, except the microwaved popcorn. For sure water, and my morning coffee,is my only beverages too.
I hope to be stopping by lighter this week. See ya'll lighter too

No replys... but I had to share.... I have my new bra on and boy it has "lifted" more than my just my spirits. If you need your spirits lifted... go get a new bra ... and get the "double" satisfaction I have.

I did my exercise !!... but headed out the door... again.
I got my hair cut... but it is still too long. I have never gone back and asked for it to be shaped up better... but I also have never paid as much for a haircut as I did either. lol I hope I keep my courage up once I get there. LOL

Thin... I am sooo proud of you. Our health is nothing to mess with.

IHATE how S L O W this site is anymore.

I haven't read anything past Jen's last post, but I felt I had to stop and respond...Jen, PLEASE, go back and read Terri's post about negative self talk. To me, you are setting yourself up for disappointment if you, a. feel as though you need to measure up to what you think others are expecting of you, b. don't get it into your head that nobody is perfect, c. don't start rejoicing in your accomplishment and doing everything in your power to maintain that. (ie:exercise). I may be overstepping my bounds here, and feel free to tell me so if I am, but all I read in your post is just reaffirming that it is NOT just the weight loss that we need to work on, but what goes on inside our heads too!

Damn, I hate when Dr Phil's right again!

And speaking of him...try Amazon or half.com to buy his book cheap!!

Back to cleaning the garage...if dh finds me here, I'm in BIG trouble!!!!

I sat at my desk at work tonight, grinning like a fool, as I read what Kat had to say.

Kat likes Dr. Phil
Kat likes Dr. Phil
Kat likes Dr. Phil

Hmm, maybe we should get her tickets to his show?

Hey gals!

Once again, I've been lurking and reading, but no time to post. Seems like everytime I get a minute someone needs me! Can ANYONE relate?!

2cute - yup, a new bra will always make a girl feel good. Only problem I have is that I can't ever find cute bra's big enough for my honkers! My husband just doesn't understand the frustration . . . 'nuff said about that . . .

Terri - I loved your tip for the day. There are so many times that I think like that! I'm now making a concious effort to do the opposite!

Jen - did you lose your weight for other people or for yourself? (you gotta get the Dr. P book ) Even if someone is dissapointed in you, be proud of yourself and the heck with what the others think We all get enough of what our "image" is "supposed" to be from the media etc. Be your beautiful self and the heck with what others think. Okay, I'll get off my now . . .

Melissa - I've only been posting here for a short time & even I know that everyone is great. Of course you should dump on us - good and bad Keep up the good work with the exercise!

Joe Anne - - with all your school work - can't say that I envy you

kat - I think some of these girls are trying to make you eat your words about not liking Dr. Phil You hit the nail on the head in your reply to Jen

Well, hubby is home now, better go make supper (boy I hate these late nights!) Hope everyone has a great evening. And remember, I'lm always lurking!

Good morning ladies!

I'm skipping Weigh-In Wednesday due to PMS weight gain.

Nothing exciting to say other than it sure is humid. I'm still wondering what happened to the beautiful 75 degree spring days. Seems like we skipped them this year and went right for too warm, too humid.

Now, here's a cat for you. The neighbors have two cats. One that seems to love taunting Bear and he loves to bark at her. I had taken him for a walk and was going to make him sleep on the deck as it was cooler. I get woken up at 11:30 by barking, which we don't like to bother the neighbors, so I get up. I stick my head out the patio door and that damn cat is sitting on our fence post looking at Bear on the deck. We block him on the deck so he was captive and she apparently knew it. I love cats but I could have knocked that one off the post for teasing him.

That's the extent of anything exciting or intelligent to say. The commute will be disasterous as they are doing road construction all summer now. Great. As if it weren't bad enough with all the lanes open.

I better get moving and get on the road soon. Have a great day!

Guess What!!!

I found the pound I lost last week...That is what keeps discouraging me. I've worked, and worked, and worked, and one weekend I eat "normal" food, and all my hard work is completely erased!

Okay, I guess I've made it obvious that I'm bummed out, but why is it so hard?

And yes, I've worked throught the 2 chapters of Dr Phills book, but I guess I'm a tougher cookie than Kat, I keep fighting him.

Hi Everyone!
I hope you are all having a good morning! I just got back from my weekly acupunture session. When I get back from vacation I'll start going 2x a week again. It was a nice relaxing session. Now I just wish I could relax the rest of the day. Nope, gotta work. I do plan on going to the gym at lunch time!

Food and exercise have been pretty good the past few days and I am feeling better than I have in a long time. My body is free of all the fertility drugs and junk food I was feeding it there for a while.

Terri - I am with you....what happened to spring? We went from cold to HOT! We ended up turning on the AC because it was just too humid and sticky in the house --- not to mention my allergies! Sorry about the commute - I can relate! Loved your "self-talk" tips! Thanks!

Thin - How did Dr. Phill and "babysitting" go yesterday? I'll admit - I don't own the book. I have another one of his, "Life Strategies", but haven't had time to pick it up.

2cute - I agree, a new bra is an important thing! Glad to hear you are "perking" up!!!

Susie - We know why you voted for Rob!

Melissa - Good job on exercising. A little exercise is better than none!

Joanne - Great to see you popping in. You're a busy, busy gal!

Jen - Gotta agree with Kat's post to you!

Lucky -

Lisa & Crystal - Hi!

Barb - Don't sweat a pound up or down - you know it could be anything - salt, water, a good trip to the bathroom (you all know it's true ) You've gotta keep on keeping on.....

Gotta work....chow for now!

Barb

I know I sound like a broken record... but I still don't have time to post.
I am pretty stressed out and I still have 10 more days until the wedding.
But the weekend company is coming tomorrow morning.
I just have to use my time wisely.

Only reply I am making is to Barbg....
Fluctuation !!!!
It is definitely frustrating... but it is only a pound.
Don't get stressed over a pound.
Hang in there girl and stay on your course.

Hi ladies! Dropped in at the library to get a book and decided to drop a quick post while I'm here. They finally got the new Jan Karon book Shepherds Abiding. It is the latest in the Mitford series. I have really enjoyed these books. Wish I lived in a town like Mitford.

Not much to post about - my life is verrrry dull. I let my weight get in the way of fun things - like not going to concerts cause I may not be able to get my BIG A$$ in the seat or going anywhere that requires being on one's feet for a long stretch of time cause my feet start hurting after about an hour I am too young to be old (but not necessarily too old to be young ).

I got my copy of the Dr. Phil book - lot's cheaper at Wally World than the bookstore. He may be hard to take sometimes but maybe that's what it takes sometimes to get through to people (like me) or maybe he's stepping on a few toes. If it takes someone to kick my butt to get me in gear then so be it.

My time is about up here.

2cute - nothing like a new bra to give you a "lift"; on that subject, I read that you should have at least 3 or 4 bras and rotate them daily - the spandex needs at least 15 hours to get back in shape and the bras don't wear out as fast.

Joeanne - good luck with school; hope it goes well.

Thin - were you able to get started on the book while babysitting??

BarbPA - good job making exercise a priority - I need to follow your example

Crystal - how's it going in your part of the state??? Hope your having a good week

Melissa - don't be afraid to share; love your avatar!

To everyone else - have a good day foodwise and otherwise. See you all later.
