Barb.g - I am so sorry about your friend's father. That is heartbreaking.

I am also very excited, but have a lot to do. I need to leave for the airport at 2:00 - still need to pack and run some errands......better go.

Lucky - Check!!! Camera Packed!

Isn't it amazing how much we depend on the internet for day to day life??? Well, at least I do!!! I was planning on leaving my laptop here, but now that I seem to have enough room in my bag it's going with me! I'm addicted.

I have a DVD player on my laptop - I am going to take a couple movies with me - if I get lucky enough to have an empty seat next to me on the plane and some room to move I can watch a movie. Oh - headphones at work - well, they are cheap I can pick up another pair.

Hey you Spring Fling Survivor fans --- I am bummed that I am going to miss my favorite show tonight! I wonder if the suite we have booked has a VCR???? Anyone want to tape Survivor tonight and bring it just in case???

Almost ready to go.....see ya later!

Funeral over, and Miss Meliss we didn't actually know the man himself, but are very close to the daughter. Her husband worked for my dad for over 20 years (10 of those years I also worked there with him) and now he works for us. Also they go to church with us. In fact, they are the only ones in the family who go to church anywhere, and Donna is the oldest child, so our associate minister helt the service.

Now I can start getting excited about a trip to Oklahoma. What should I wear?

mmm...exercise videos: Tae Bo, beginners version, is very good, not hard to do but you'll sweat like crazy. Any Kathy Smith, I like the "Peak Performance" one. I have an old "The Firm" video which is great, but the 80s leotards are kind of outdated...I currently like Beach Body 90. Depends on what you want...cardio? weights?
Anything that gets you moving is good...you just have to find someone you enjoy watching/listening to. I can't stand Denise Austin's voice and mannerisms, so even if her videos are good, she irks me too much to follow!! There used to be a show on ESPN, "Bodies in Motion" with Gilad. I loved him! He was funny and the workouts were good, without being too hard to do. I may have to get over to Amazon to see if I can find some of his stuff! Hey, thanks for getting me thinking about this, Meliss!

Okay, I finally bought my new scale......Oh, you want me to get ON it?

...geez...now I have to go find a battery...wait a minute...the things I do for you people...

Well, THAT was an eye opener!!!.

I bought a fancy schmany scale with dates and memory and weight and BMI, (it appears that I'm in the DANGEROUS category there--no sh!t)

So, where was I...oh yes, my digits...Well, in the interest of starting over, for posterity, here they are...ulp...weight=269, BMI=44.7. (18.5-24.9 is normal) So there they are. My fancy schmancy scale shows how much is lost or gained everytime you get on the scale. Good. I need some accountability. I must say that I was pleasantly surprised to see that I was not in the 270s. You know, there's just that psychological ~thing~ about going into the next decade (for lack of a better word!) up or down!

Enough about me.

Barb!!! Since you'll have your laptop with you, I do hope there will be bulletins and news flashes as they happen!!! I'm so looking forward to pictures and I have designated my credit union account as my "airfare savings account" for next year's excursion! BTW, I TiVO Survivor each week, you'll have to come over and watch with me here!

BarbG...so sorry to hear about the suicide. So tragic for those that are left behind.

Terri, I'm getting on my bike today JUST FOR YOU! My bike riding cohort.

Lucky...I ALMOST bought one of those balls when I was at KMart, buying my scale. And then I came to my senses. I will spend NO MORE MONEY on exercise stuff!!!! I have a ton that I do not use. And a gym membership. So, I'm sorry, we can't compare 'falling off the ball' stories! Although, I'll be happy to listen to yours!

Andria! I've been meaning to tell you, "YAY!" about the biopsy! I'm thrilled for you. Did I mention that my dad's was NEGATIVE too?

Samantha, I like Fitday too! I go in spurts, using that...it's great to have a visual of what's going into the old pie...er, I mean, salad hole!

Okay, I have to run...must get out into the glorious sunshine! One more night of work and I'm off for three! Oh yeah...

see y'all later!

Ha ha ha...80's leotards...I bet there are still some people who would wear them if they sold them anywhere..you know...For some reason people still like to do the bangs curling thing ...curling them up and hairspraying them(no offense if anyone does), i just don't think it's flattering on anyone, and it takes a whike to do, probably...

Kat. I had a similar experience when I calculated the body fat percentage per the Discovery Body Challenge. Except mine was...WHAT THE ****! Can't be right! Then I had to wash my own mouth out with soap.

Come on gals, quit being wusses about the stability ball. I have never fallen off. If my DH can sit on the ball and even roll until he's on his back, you can too. Just sit gingerly and roll down slowly until you get the hang of it.

I think my hobby is buying exercise equipment....no wait, thought it was sewing material (back in the 80's)...no wait, thought it was ceramic stuff...no wait...maybe its just buying stuff. What a drag to think you have to do something with it.

I personally like Leslie Sansone walk vids and her step vid. Yes, she's a bit annoying but nearly as bad as Denise Austin. I used to love Gilad too!!! I had forgotten all about him. Then there was Charlene Prickett. She's much better if you could put a sock in her mouth. I probably still have my Jane Fonda ALBUM! Anyway....back to contributing something helpful to Meliss. It really depends on what you want. I like doing the walk tapes, I like my cycling videos for the stationary bike, I like doing Tae bo, I like doing Winsor pilates, I like the stability ball workouts. Try looking at the library to see what they have and try before you buy!

Hey, maybe we should do a video exchange! I may still have some Richard Simmons.

I am going to start saving up for next year now too!! Hope DH survives this weekend. He is excited about going and lounging around by himself. As long as I come back to the room sometime before Sunday noon!

I need to go do more laundry and the dog is laying at my feet looking forlorn. Like he knows I'm leaving him behind. That and he knows I haven't taken him for a walk yet. Note to self: Next time buy a dumb dog.

Who got to watch Survivor? I'd like to vote all of them off. I wouldn't last long. I'd tell Alicia and Jenna to shut up and back the **** off. Again with the soap in the mouth.

Have a great evening!

Terri: I like your ideas for saving money. I can't use Thin's because I rarely use cash - I don't buy anything during the week. I take my lunch to work and use a check card for Wal-Mart, groceries and gas.

I could pay myself for each time I fall off the stability ball!!!

Okay, experts - do I need one of those things you use on footballs and stuff to use my air compressor on the stability ball?

Kat: I was thinking we could "chat" with OK since they will be by computers.

Thin: When is the Spring Fling #2? I don't get vacation until after May 5th. Also, I notice many of you mentioning doing your nails. I don't know if I will fit in with all of you fashion slaves. I NEVER do my nails.

When I was cleaning tonight I did find a tin full of coins. I must have been saving them at one time - I figure it is my "starter" for next years party.

Talking

MissMeliss: Well, mine is a huge *** piece of green rubber right now so I don't sit on it!!

I have to find one of those "things" you use to blow up sports balls so I can use my air compressor on the huge *** piece of green rubber .

Funny, Terri, I ordered the over 50 tape and got the EXTREME one. Do they even look at what we pick or just give us the closest one handy for them?????

So, who's in OK and how is it going so far?????

My ball came with it's own pump. I tried the video that came with it, but because of my "artificial" knees, I was scared to try too many of them. But it's fun to use for a lot of things. When I was using the trainer, we used it a lot.

I have quite a collection of exercise video, but don't use or recommend any of them, except the Oxycise ones. But what I really collect is diet books. I think I have every one ever written, and I've found that reading them doesn't help at all. maybe I should try doing what they suggest?

I've said dieting is my hobby. Maybe that's my problem, I don't take it seriously enough.

The way I've "saved" my Spring Fling money is fun. DH buy lottery tickets every Wed & Saturday and he will usually buy me a couple of scratch off while he's there. Of course, we've never won the lottery, and it's not worth DH's energy or effort to go to the store to collect a mere 3.00 win so I save up all winning scratch off's and the lottery tickets until I get quite a few then take them too the store and wait patiently for the clerk to run them throug the machine. He hates to see me come in!
So over the years time I've saved up enough for spending money for my trip.

As for air fare, I don't know what I'll do about that. I was able to get a FUN FARE to Tulsa from Dallas for 82.00. It will probally be a lot more from Dallas to the North Pole!

I have to ask. Is it that the ball is "huge ***" or "*** green"? My first thought was, gosh my *** isn't green? !

Lucky - I was trying to get the Extreme vid and got the Fifty one. Send it back because I really like the Fifty one. I like the Gin Miller one too but she does have some hard moves for the more advanced.

I think Barb and 2Cute are the only ones in OK so far. We won't be there until about 10pm tonight. I have no idea when Syn or Thin & Susie are coming in.

It occurred to me this morning that we are headed into TORNADO ALLEY in the springtime. Next time - no tornado alley please!!! Especially since I thought I heard there was tornadic damage around Tulsa yesterday.

Have a great weekend ladies!

Good morning...

My sister's surgery went well... but .. her recovery is hampered with difficulty in breathing. Please send some prayers her way.

Only a few hours until a bunch of us get to meet.
I did want to pass on... there are no threats of tornadoes this weekend.
Our temperatures are only going to be low 60's with some rain. But tornadoes do not like low temps ... so we should be just fine. But please tell your families that I have a saferoom if needed. It will be a tight fit.

Okay.. gotta go. Time to go check on my sister. She is in ICU.
