Default kinda icky

sorry in advance if this question is kind of icky but I've been working on a 2000 calorie diet for just over a month now and lost just short of 20 lbs which I'm thrilled about. I had lost 10 lbs since January just cutting out junk food too. Lots more veggies and fruit and a lot less nasty processed foods and bad carbs. So here's my question...I go pee all the time! I'm talking 20 or more times a day also, I have the runs all the time. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind if it helps me lose weight and I remember a friend of mine having gastric surgery and he complained of the same symptoms, in his case it went on for near on a year as he was losing weight the fastest. Any of you have this issue? Did it go away? I should add that doctor has ruled out a UTI or other obvious medical problems.

Having the runs is normal, I have them now that I eat a lot more veggies and drink more water. I go pee about 5-6 times a day, not 20, so can't help you there.

If you're eating a lot of fruits/veggies with fiber, it will definitely affect your BM's. A good probiotic may help. As far is the urinating, I'm in the bathroom ALL.THE.TIME. I drink a lot of water and have the bladder of a 3 year old. It sucks, but at least I know my kidneys are functioning well!

Are you drinking a lot more water (or beverages in general)? That would explain the peeing. If there doesn't seem to be a reason behind it then I would consult your doctor, as excessive urination can be a sign of problems. But, if you've radically overhauled your diet then odds are it's just that.

Same thing with gastrointestinal issues. Given that you've radically overhauled your diet, odds are very very high that it's behind it. As long as it's nothing too extreme, like where you can't keep yourself properly hydrated or can't do normal daily activities because of it, odds are you're perfectly fine. In my experience, your body will eventually adjust to its new balance of nutrients and your bowels will become more normal.
