Default Needing Advice

Hi, I am Shellee, this is my first post. I am struggling with health problems due to my weight of 330+. It feels like I have been struggling and feeling miserable for years. I am 48 now and just so tired of it but now with health issues on top of it I just feel so overwhelmed.
How do you settle on a food plan? I always start & stop then feel miserable and go through the process over and over never really losing more than the same 5 lbs over & over. I want my life back I just feel like I don't know what to do. I am insulin resistant & prediabetic, high blood pressure controlled with meds, hyperplasia, PCOS etc
My cardiologist suggested Weight Watchers...I have been in and out of WW so many times. I always quit on myself with although I have no complaints about the program.
I feel lost. I have to go back to my dr in 3 months for retesting on blood work and if no improvement she wants me on cholesterol lowering drugs, and something to lower my insulin levels. I am already on bp meds and prefer not to be on more.
I would so appreciate any advice.

Thanks,
Shellee

Welcome Shellee!
My advice is keep posting here. We are a supportive group but you have to be here to get support.
Second, remember you don't have to stay married to the first diet/plan you commit too. You just have to commit to keep trying.
Tell us more so we can offer advice. What are your trigger foods? What did you not like about WW? What else have you tried and what was your experience like? We try all kinds of plans but most important we keep trying.
Good luck on your life long journey to good health.
You can do this!

Welcome and good luck Shellee! I am not very good at the food part of weight loss myself. I just don't beat myself up about it or dwell on it. I have never tried a strict eating plan, I just do my best to eat as healthy as I can (the MFP, MyFitnessPal, app helps me out a lot).

Welcome Shellee,
I'm not sure what eating plan will work for you, but I know for myself I've lowered my carbs while increasing some of my fats. I try to keep my carbs below 100g which keeps me from eating many processed foods due to the high carb content.

I will say, that I used to be prediabetic, but with eating lower carb and less processed foods my blood sugars are absolutely rock steady.

I truly don't know what way of eating will work best for you because I don't think any one "diet" plan works for every person. I've been following the Leptin Diet which also helped my mother, at the age of 55, to lose 100lbs reaching her ideal weight. It took her 2 years to lose the weight, but she has now maintained it for 3 years. The reason we follow the diet is because it makes sense to us, and once your body is working in tune, the way of eating becomes easy.

Good luck on this journey, I've only just restarted on my journey of weight loss but it's been well worth it.
