Hi
Princess_kyn , you remind me of myself, I used to be a soda junkie, but now I haven't had any in over a year. I don't drink sweetened drinks hardly at all, I pretty much just want water. I was originally 350 lbs. a few years ago, and my best explanation to how I achieved my once "low" weight of 305-310 without dieting (I didn't really begin & stick to a program until this year) was simply cutting out sugared drinks, namely soda.
We're all different, but I am a big fan of eating my calories, if I am going to gain weight, I'd rather it be from food than drink, that helped me w/my decision. I also have PCOS and soda is like poison to anyone w/PCOS, insulin-resistance, diabetes, etc. it just isn't worth it.
There is a great video I'd love for anyone w/this issue (soda-addiction

) to watch on Youtube
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l4-Xztw7tOY << it is a documentary (not boring at all) about the " The Men who made us fat" there is also one called "The Men Who Made Us Thin" it is all very interesting and helps us understand the effect soda/high fructose corn syrup/artificial sweeteners have on us. Knowing what it is doing in our bodies makes it less appetizing.
I'd love to add you on MFP as well (my screenname is candidcamster ) , congratulations on your 5-pound loss, every pound loss is moving you closer to your goal, and making you just that much healthier. I wish you all the success on your journey! <3
