Good Morning!
Betsy so happy about the pounds down! How many is that since you recommitted?
Sam I am really going to start watching my carbs too. When I started slacking on the carbs I stalled. Please learn from me and don't start!
Fi good job getting rid of the unused and making room for furballs of love to come into your home!
Sugar we only fail when we stop trying. We are not perfect. We are on a learning journey. The scale will go up and down. As time goes on it will go up less and down more until we figure it out.
Terra today is sunny but chilly. I did not get my walk in yesterday so I really have to today! How is the calorie counting going?

Today I was thinking when we step on the scale and it goes down we are so happy. Why don't we try to make ourselves happy more often? They have the saying "A year from now you'll be happy you started today." How about "Tomorrow you'll be happy you stayed on plan today."?
Have a peaceful day!

Good morning all. It's so much cooler this morning -- perfect temp for getting more yard work done.

SamWow -- really big breakthroughs for you with a) understanding that you're doing this for you and b) stopping when you're full, not when your plate is clean. Good for you!
Fi I'm exhausted from your organizing/decluttering/clipping, but so glad you found a good organization to help with taking the books. Those little fur balls will be bringing you sweet dreams soon.
Sugar As wonderful as vacations are, they do sometimes also point out where we want to be. Keep at it and you'll be one of the tourist types next time. The olive fields.....I have such a wonderful image of your day there.
Terra I think you said that your scale and the doctor's scale showed two different weights. If you initially weighed on the doctor's scale, then use it as your "official" weight scale, but if you just want an idea of what you're weighing between doctor's visits, then weigh on yours but add or subtract for the difference. For example, my doctor's is always 4 pounds heavier, so I know if I weigh in the morning I need to add 4 pounds to know what I'll weigh at the doctor's office. Have I just made things muddier with that too long explanation?
Ubee Twelve since the latest recommittment -- most of that was a whoosh of Noah's flood proportions.

Time to get it in gear. Lots on the agenda for the next couple of weeks, but I like being busy! Have a great day.

Fi Sounds awesome that you are donating so many books for people who need them...I really like that idea...and great job on all the work you're doing for those little babies that will be meeting you soon

Sugar I was talking to DH yesterday about possibly getting us some bikes to ride around on. I'm not sure if my body is ready to try and ride a bike again, but it sounds like it would be a fun thing to do soon. The olive fields sound amazing! Enjoy your time there!

Ubee I am learnin girl I feel really great in saying that I have been 100% OP with exercising and eating this week...I am hoping that it shows on the scale on Sunday for my 4 month official weigh in!

Betsy This has definitely been an eye opening experience for me...It's different, but I am liking the changes...They're for the good so hopefully it will stick with me for life.

Came home from work and immediately started my workout. I just did cardio this evening. I thought about lifting weights but I was soo hot and tired when I was done I thought I'll just do it tomorrow. DH is making dinner for us tonight...I'm having spaghetti squash with sauce and he's having regular spaghetti. He's on his second week taking vitamins daily and started jucing again and it seems like he is feeling better than he has in awhile. I'm slowly starting to try to get him to be more active too but not being to pushy. He finally revealed his weight to me the other night...He is 260. His ideal weight is 175-180, but when we met he was about 220 so for only gaining 40 lbs in almost 11 years ain't bad in my opinion. I on the other hand had gained 155 lbs since we met when I first started my journey...It's a long road ahead, but for the first time in my life I feel ready and determined...and it makes me happy to see the good habits starting to rub off on him. He will never go to the extremes that I'm going to but he is doing very well and I'm proud of him...I'm really trying with the positive reinforcement with him because I know that's what I need sometimes to keep going with this journey, so I hope that helps him.

Tomorrow we are planning to go to the beach for a little while. The weather is supposed to be beautiful so hopefully DH won't back out on me lol...Otherwise I guess I'm goin by myself haha

Well I hope everyone enjoys their Friday night!! I'm off to go check on dinner. Take care my weight loss family!!

Good Morning!
Betsy 12 pounds is great! That is 1 & 1/2 less gallons you are carrying around. Think of that next time you hoist a gallon of milk!
Sam I want you to know that since your very first chat post I have thought of you as my younger cousin. No lie! It is so much easier if your hubby is part ways on board and not fighting you every step of the way. Tell him I said "Good Job!"
Sugar when you get back I am expecting a LONG post on your trip. I want details!
I did amazing yesterday! Which is important since I have a party to go to this afternoon. Potluck. They are the hardest. I have a very good plan, which will require my husbands cooperation. He will so be on board. I am actually looking forward to Mondays weigh in.
Today I am glad I was on plan yesterday!
Have a peaceful day!

Ubee ~ The calorie counting is going good. I started to use myfitnesspal again and I've gotten use to using it so it really helps letting me know if Im under my calories or not when I log my food so Im not actual counting calories anymore or when you log your food would that be the same as counting calories?

Betsy ~ Nope I understand now, Thanks

I walked already this morning and I'll walk again after dinner

Good morning everyone. It's overcast and cool here today -- supposed to rain today, but we keep having sun breaks (yes, I live someplace where we have an official name for when the sun peeks out). Hope everyone is having a great weekend.

Sam You are so good about sticking on plan and getting that exercise in. And having your hubby's support makes such a difference -- for both of you! Hope you get to the beach and enjoy that walk.
Sugar I knew that olive trees were really tall but only from pictures. I bet it's beautiful being there.
Terra Glad the calorie counting is going well and that MFP is helping. That's what I use as well......some days it helps me to wonder what I was thinking in terms of menus. Hope you enjoyed your morning walk.
Ubee I can't remember the last time that you were looking forward to weigh in. That's wonderful! Enjoy the pot luck and reveal your plan to us. Anything like that is something that definitely needs a plan of attack!

Just got 40 bags of soil, manure, and compost delivered to put in the containers for my deck garden. We have terrible soil, and I'm tired of trying to create my own. So, I'm gardening on the deck this year. Lifting and toting those bags will be my weight workout this weekend! Going out to dinner with a friend tonight, but we're going to a Thai place so I'll be able to order veggies and maybe some shrimp with it. Have a great day.

If you happened to wonder why I didn't post yesterday, it's because I got an idea for a collage right around 6:30 in the morning, and proceeded to spend sixteen hours straight on it, with no breaks to speak of. Then I crashed, slept, and woke up to spend six more hours this morning, completing it. 22 hours for one collage!

This artwork is all about how I feel trapped by the huge amount of labor that remains to be done on the BERP. Here it is: the title is "as free as a bird."

Ubee Thank you for making my day!! You do really play a big part in my journey...You're always there to cheer me on or knock me down to reality when I need it and I so so so much appreciate that! Thank you for being you!! I will definitely tell DH

Betsy Didn't make it to the beach today...DH didn't sleep too well last night so he's taking a nap, but we are planning on going in the morning. I need some sun!!! Awesome job with the 3 lb loss! I hope you had a great lunch date with your friend today!

Fi Wow girl!!! That's a long time to spend on a collage but it looks like all that hard work paid off! The collage looks great! I love it!! I hope you're having a great weekend!

Had a late night last night...my friend called me yesterday evening and wanted to go walking again like we did earlier in the week....So I ended up getting double cardio in last night . She had her first baby last October...I think she looks great and she bounced back pretty quick. She said she still has 10 lbs she would like to lose and needs to get back in the gym...I told her just to work into it...Can't always jump back in full throttle. Her fiance won't go walking with her so if she calls I go even if I am tired or finished working out...I can get all the activity I can get so I don't mind, and I'm helping her get back to things so that makes me feel good. We walked for about 2 miles at this place called the Market Common...It's on the old air force base here in Myrtle Beach. It's got shops, restaurants, a grocery store, book store and a huge pond that they have a track that goes around it with some little fast cardio things you can do along the way if you want and a playground for the kids. After we walked we went to the book store and got some coffee from Starbucks and just enjoyed the weather outside. I didn't get home till around 9 and then went next door to the neighbors apartment to hang for a bit. I don't think I ended up going to bed until 2 am.

Today I had to take the car in to get an oil change. DH and I went to this mexican restaurant he wanted to go to...I didn't exactly want to go since I've been doing so good being on plan this week. I didn't eat any chips, got water with lemon and ordered a taco salad but didn't eat that huge taco shell bowl. I even gave DH some of my sour cream and cheese because they put too much on there for me to feel comfortable eating. I am still counting it as on plan because it was basically something I'd eat at home and I did cut out the taco bowl so I think it will be ok. I couldn't get DH to the beach today...He didn't sleep well last night so he promised me we would go in the morning.

Since DH is asleep I decided I was bored so I exercised lol...There's definitely a change in my decisions on what to do when I'm bored...Exercise would never be on top of the list lol...I did 20 minutes of cardio and 40 minutes of weight lifting. Today I focused on arms...I'm really starting to feel some muscle all over my body now and even though there's fat around it I can kinda see a little definition. I think it's kinda cool that I am building this awesome body but it's just hiding right now until it's time to make its debut. I have really never been in a better place in my life than I am right now. My mind is clear for the most part, I'm eating right, exercising, working on being happy and having a healthy relationship with DH (we have our times like all couples)...Everything is actually as close to perfection as it's going to get. Once our health gets in a good range, we both lose the weight we need to in order to be healthy I am hoping that we can work towards our own place and saving. I am dying to have my own tiny house ...One thing at a time though...

I hope everyone is having a great weekend...Tomorrow is my official 4 month weigh in! I am hoping for a good loss! Take care everyone!

Hey ya'll sorry I've been out of touch, just staying offline. Not even doing much productive. I layed on the couch this afternoon, the weather is gloomy its snowing and dark and icky and just a downer after we got a taste of sun last weekend.

Weight has been bouncing around the 290's I need to start being more hardcore, and I know that but I am not feeling up to it. It's one of those things I'm not eating horribly, I'm not totally inactive.

Sam - Your a sweet friend, I like walks as a way to socialise with friends.

Betsy - Wowsa thats a lot of gardenning you're about to do!

Ubee - Such the philosopher, hope you are happy today!

silentarctic - sorry to hear you are having motivation issues. Do you know any reasons why that might be? I find it really difficult to get active, but it is important to stick to the food plan. Is there anything that has motivated you previously that you could replicate? I am only three weeks into this journey, so feel pretty hypocritical giving advice. Just know that you have support in here.
Sam - sounds like you have been going well! Congrats on being so strong in the mexican restaurant. It must have been so hard with all of the temptation. Well done you!
Fiona - I love your artwork! Sounds like the BERP is going gangbusters!
Terra - I have just started using MFP and bought a Fitbit Flex to monitor myself. I am finding the numbers useful to know what the impact of my movement and food. Being able to quantify everything is appealing to my analytical brain.

Well, I got new kitten pictures today. =big smile= But instead of loading all the still photos onto my domain and all that fuss, I'll just give y'all the link to the new video of the oriental shorthair named Cherry Bomb and her four kittens, now four weeks old. To those of you who haven't been following this story, two of these kittens will arrive in my husband's and my home in about nine weeks. Enjoy!

I was going through some old stuff of mine and found my old pedometer! It really lifted my spirits remembering how young I was back then and finding this again. I'm wearing it now. Maybe it's time for a late night walk.....
