September????? What happened to August? Seriously, the older I get the faster the time whizzes by.

I've been doing Atkins for 2 days now, and have been able to keep the sugar/carb cravings under control. It's kind of a shock to see the big (for me) increase in calories as I'm still tracking what I eat on MFP. But, I'm losing a little each day, and want to shoot for getting back to 329 by the end of the month. That will be 11 pounds this month which may be pushing it a little, but I figure that going extreme low carb will rev things up at first.

Going up to the grands today -- everyone heads back to school in a couple of days, so this is the last of the free weekends for a while.

Thanks, Pam. I know that low carb works for me, but need to get my mind set on significantly reducing my carb intake.......on a permanent basis!

I know it must be hard to be tracking and seeing those calories higher than you expected... but your carbs being so low and you see a loss...

I could see it really messing with my mind... LOL

Great day yesterday! did lots of deep cleaning, most cant be seen by others but I know its done and in order.
The bulk of my calories were at dinner but I feel ok about that. I was under my 1200. I got lots of exercise cleaning and I also got all my water in.
My scales are at 235 but I know they will jump a bit when I get off the steriod. I took my last one today. I think they cause me to lose alot of fluid when Im taking them.
Well have a great day everyone

I feel like I waited all year for September and now that it's here it already feels like it's flying by. Geez. I really wanted to be at a 50lb loss by the end of August, but the scale is not cooperating. Blargh.

But hey, my wedding anniversary is this month, and no matter what I'll be 48lbs thinner this year than I was last year. So whoo hoo!!

Sounds as though all of us are on a roll right now -- good for us!

Dgramie -- hope you're recovered from the dental work. Hate going to the dentist, but definitely one of those things that has to be done. I'm in the midst of cleaning my house, too, but not sure I would call it a deep cleaning.

Pam -- My calorie count has gotten back into my comfort range as I'm trying to focus on eating more lean protein as opposed to using this as an excuse to eat steak every day along with bacon and sausage and deli meats. I've been trying to do Induction, but I'm probably closer to Phase I......just no way I can keep it under 20g of carbs although I'm not doing net carbs which with all these veggies I probably should be!

2fat2jump -- Wow! I am so glad that you realize that you've done a great job in getting 48 pounds off. Yes, it would have been nice to hit the 50 pound mark, but celebrating your anniversary and your weight loss for the last year will make September a special month.

Off to the gym.

scale hasn't moved in almost a month. august was one of the worst months ever. I'm back in the full swing of school, though, and will have a lot of choices to make because I have an hour 45 minute break in between my last two classes. I'm hoping that I won't be an idiot like today and go for the fast food option.

what are some easy lunches to bring to school? I will not have access to a microwave.

Boy, you can really tell that the equinox is just around the corner -- sun sets so much earlier and rises so much later. Not sure I'm ready for winter yet.

Dgramie -- sorry you're having trouble with one of your teeth still. UGH!

Wheezypi -- Sounds like you're back in the whirlwind of school. You asked about lunch ideas without having a microwave. Yogurt, cut up veggies, fruit (like apples, bananas, etc.) that are easily transportable, nuts, power bars (low cal/low carb) -- anything that can be grabbed and easily packed for the day. If you have some place to store a small thermal bag, pack a sandwich made either with low carb bread or else as a wrap made with lettuce leaves. The hard part is getting into the habit of packing your lunch the night before. Since you have so much time, could you take a walk then to get in your exercise for the day? That will cut down on the time available to run out for fast food. Or, if you go the fast food route, get one of the salads and keep a bottle of WF dressing in your purse or book bag. Hope that helps.

I seem to be in the midst of a big whoosh -- which as I remember is normal when starting Atkins. I remember when I gained these 10 pounds over the span of a weekend, that someone here on 3FC very nicely told me not to worry because it had to be mainly water and would come quickly off. Instead I gained 5 more, but now a month later, I'm finally having the whoosh from that first 10 pounds. Talk about delayed whoosing.

First, the scale will move eventually.

Second, for school grab apples, and peanut butter to spread on the apple or other fruit. You could take turkey wraps (if you don't mind using a lunch box with a cold pack). Pack some yogurt (as suggested). If you have to get fast food, remember you can pre-plan which meal item to get. Look up all nutritional information online before choosing! I know I squeezed KFC in with their snack bites for lunch and still stayed under my recommend caloric intake.

@ Betsy - yay! Always good to see the 'whoosh'

Sad to see it is September, and I am not under 300 yet. I am sitting at 300.7 (weighed in this morning...). I was on a good whoosh and now I have slowed down. Ah well!

Betsy, you're right. I noticed the sun was just about down at 8pm. It'll almost be time to fall back soon. Crazy

Wheezy pi, August sucked for me too. My body has just not been cooperating lately and it is P#***ing me off! Ahhhhh! No great lunch ideas from me. Hard boiled eggs are my fav, but they can smell sometimes. I usually just do salads. Pinterest probably has a lot of ideas.

Heather, I'd be freaking out if I was that close to Twoderville! I can't wait to celebrate with you! Whoo hoo!

Tomorrow is my official weigh-in day for the week, but I don't think it's going to be very promising. I haven't had a day when I went over my calories in weeks and I've been exercising like a machine. The scale just doesn't want to give it to me. Ah, well. Hoping for the best, anticipating the worst. Sitting here drinking herbal tea trying to be good tonight.

Betsy - it sounds like you are doing great regardless... just hang in there...

Wheezy - I just went through that same thing and right before my doctor visit I dropped a little then even another pound the day after... so it will happen

2fat2jump - you may not have made 50 lost but you got pretty close... and you are right you made changes and lost since last year at this time... I am proud of you... pat yourself on the back...
