What we try to do when we lose weight is to lose fat, not muscle...
324lbs (your ticker) converted to kg is 146.96 kg so let's say 147 kg.
0.86g protein x 147 kg = 126.42 g of protein a day as your recommended goal (not pulling this number out of my butt. Doing it based on a registered dietitians numbers).
If you are looking at protein levels... Are you looking at a Protein Modified Fast (it puts you in ketosis). It is not a classic ketogenic diet because the idea is your body consumes YOUR fat instead of being fed more fat.
Protein is 4 calories per gram.
Carbs are 4 calories per gram.
Fat is 9 calories per gram.
If you tried for a 40% protein, 30% carbs, 30% fat diet it would work out like this:
Approximately 1265 calories a day
126.42 g of protein is approximately 505.7 calories.
95 g of carbs is approximately 379.3 calories
42 g of fat is approximately 379.3 calories
This is basically what I did in the 3 weeks pre-op. 1 protein shake a day, and the rest from low fat foods, lean meats, green veggies, etc.
I lost 5 lbs a week on this.
The numbers I worked with were actually:
129 g of protein is approximately 516 calories.
100 g of carbs is approximately 400 calories
45 g of fat is approximately 405 calories
So a touch higher then the ideal done to the pound for you... It was easier to aim for the protein and get the other two within 10 g + or - so my day would fluctuate. 10 g more fat is another 90 calories a day... 10 g more carbs is 40 g a day but I needed my carbs under a certain amount or I stopped losing inches.
I also lost a lot of inches before starting this by doing something similar but my protein was 110g a day, carbs were 100-130 g a day, and fat was 60 g a day.
Hope this info helps with some ideas.
