Default 300+ and getting fit after 40 - #297

This group is for those dealing with the challenges of being fit when you have a significant amount of weight to lose which becomes harder after age 40. If you're an old or new friend and not over 40 and feel this is the place to post, jump right in!

Mornin' all.

Had a good day yesterday. Scooted over to Tuesday morning and picked up some small bowls. I needed something that didn't make my cereal look like a tiny puddle in the bottom of the big bowl. If the small bowl looks full with the same amount I can fool myself into thinking it's a bigger portion.

Settled in with my second cup of coffee to watch the Tour of Flanders this morning. I love to watch cycling road races!

Have a super Sunday.

Good morning all.

Think this will be a lazy day today but will be sure to get out for a walk.

Have a good day all!

The early spring has me working outside already. Seems I've lost some of my stamina, need to work on that. POP weekend!

Stay strong!

Hubby and I both have dr appointments today. I had rather be beat than go to mine. The scales said that I had way to much sodium yesterday, nothing to do about it now but go and face the dr.
Hubby and I got in a mile and a half walk last night. It was nice and we both know its what we need to do.
Food this week is still not planned but will include lots of grilled meats and veggies.

Well, the good news is I had a relaxing weekend. Didn't go crazy on the food (but I'm not writing everything down, either).

However, now I have a LOT to do this week!!

Had a great OP weekend. Fighting the evil, head hungries this morning but they are going to lose.

Lots of stuff to do, both in and out, this week. I'll be packing a small cooler on days when I'm not home at lunch time.

I enjoyed my day off yesterday even if I had to go to the dr. I had lost 4lbs since my last visit. She was hoping for more but was ok with that. She still isnt really happy with my blood pressure and changed my blood pressure med to one that includes a water pill. She pressed on my legs and decided I am holding fluid. I told her I had eaten alot of sodium over the weekend.
We hit walmart and then had lunch. I really didnt enjoy lunch and didnt overeat. woohoo!!
Enjoyed watching our WILDCATS game last night.
So back at it today...got alot of yard work waiting for me today. Hoping to be able to take the kids out with me to do it.

Debbie - congrats to the Wildcats. My Jayhawks didn't play their best last night.

Hello everyone, Sorry I am missing so much of the time lately, but this cold, or sinus infection, or whatever it is, has about kicked my backside. Just not feeling very well. I woke up wet with sweat last night and today I seem to be worse instead of better. I still have a few days of meds to take. I just want it to go away and leave me alone. LOL!

Eating is not such a big deal right now. Probably haven't lost any weight though. I have had a lot of soup and such.

Love seeing that some of you are really doing well. j-ann, I am so impressed! Dang I need some of that resolve! Keep it up.

Ta for now. Hugs to all. Ruth

Plucky - I'm headed to the pool tonight too!

Hope you're all staying safe in the rough weather - take care of yourselves!

Doing well food and exercise wise - if only I could convince the scale to budge.

Stay strong!

Great day here yesterday, calories were perfect and clean! I spent the whole day outside and did over 3 hours of yard work. MY flower beds look awesome at last.
My brain keeps telling me its early but everyone is starting to plant their gardens(mom says never plant before May no matter how warm it is). Im starting to plan mine. I cant wait to dig in the dirt more! I really enjoyed being in the yard yesterday.

gggirlsAre you swimming or taking a class such as aquafitness? I love the water.

dgramieDo you plant any vegetables? I miss gardening. I have not done any since I was a child.

HeatherSorry to hear you have a sick husband and not doing so great.

I did get to the pool for shallow water aquafitness. That is twice this week.
