Wink Not sure where to start

Hello everyone! I am new here to the forum, and to actively trying to lose weight. I will be honest, I have no idea where to start.

I have been overweight for most of my life...but I was always comfortable...since October, I have gained around 40 pounds...and I am now at my breaking point. I hurt ALL the time...have trouble with stairs, cant stand up from the couch....

I have always wanted to be smaller, and I have always wished I could be more "normal" in size....I didnt worry to much about it, cause I didnt FEEL fat...the only time I even realised I was fat was when I looked in a mirror and I was like, holy crap!! I dont FEEL that big!! Now, in the last few months, I can't believe how much my weight is effecting me!

So here I am....hoping that reading through the site, and posting on the forums, and blogging, and making friends and maybe finding a buddy or two, will help me find a way that works for me, and will help me to drop this weight once and for all.

Now if I can just figure out where to start with posting and answering....... LOL

Hi & welcome. I'm new here too. It's a great first step (finding support & friends who can relate), and so far this website/forum seems to be an awesome place for that

Good Luck on your journey!! <3

i am enjoying the support of this forum, and seeing all the inspiring tales of success. but it is also nice to see there are other people just starting out instead of well into it.... basically in the same boat i am.

heather - the first thing i did was cut the sodas and up the water intake, then i started with 20-30mins of light exercise per day. and i made the decision that when i'm home and have to use the bathroom, i'll use the toilet on the floor opposite of where i am. if i'm downstairs, i'll run up the stairs, and vice versa if i'm upstairs.

i've found that little things can add up, and in just 2 weeks, i've added a few more minutes to my workouts

Welcome and good luck! When I started I cut out all soda and started portion control on my food intake. I measure everything. Maybe that will help you.
