Life....I sure hope you get to feeling better soon...strep is certainly NO fun...make sure you take care of yourself!!

Ratkity...hang in there....having no weight loss in a month is certainly daunting...i think on my last attempt at losing, i was losing so well, and doing so well, adn when i hit that stall...it really threw me for a loop...and i stayed on my plan..and still no loss...and in the end....it was so discouraging that i started gaining...and then before i knew it a year had passed and i had gained all my weight back plus some....so i am sooooooooooooo proud of you for hanging on and pursuing through your stall...that gives me HUGE INSPIRATION!!!! thank YOU!!! i am proud of you!!!

Rainbow do you come from the UK or did your parents move here? Sorry if you told me before, I have an abysmal memory, lol! xxxxx
Well I'm in agony with my back, got a hotwater bottle on it, a quilt on my legs, a dog on my legs and a coal fire so I feel better, or at least loved & warm! lol Took heavy duty pain meds and had gel pain reliever too so hoping for a good sleep tonight. I've had a cr@ppy day, pain, stupid bank messing up, sister had bad news and TOM is VERY late BUT ...miracle of miracles I'm NOT cheating! I could have killed for shortbread (had some in the breadbin) or cheese roll or crisps(chips) BUT I've not had any, thinking today isn't so bad coz I've stayed on plan. I don't want to sound smug BUT just to say staying OP CAN make you feel better, even after a bad day.
xxxxx sharon

Hi, sorry Ratkitty that you are having a stall, are you mixing up your foods/exercise? I've found that trying new foods and exercise can 'shock' your body into loss, not that I'm an expert, lol! xxxxx
I've been careful taking the boys to & from school coz the snow is still here but it's now ice, guess what? I fell over in my KITCHEN ! Slipped on a bit of melted snow! My wrists; where I tried to grab a worktop; my ankle, knee and back muscles are all wrenched (sp?) and I banged the back of my hip as I fell on the hard floor. Poor me! As time is passing I'm noticing more aches...bleh BUT I am moving, took ibprofen and I'll be having a hot bath soon but it is so IRRITATING!! Everytime I feel good something cr@ppy happens! I got into my old size 18 jeans yesterday, all 4 pairs!
I'm not letting it derail me, I keep thinking of weigh in tomorrow and it's measurement day too. I know there are people out there (like Annie) who've had TERRIBLE luck with their health but I still feel pi$$ed off.
Sorry for being an old moaner!
xxxxx sharon

Susan, thanks but even though I never gave in to Chinese last night I GAINED 4lbs TOM arrived so I know it has to be that. One of my knees and shin is all swollen too so I'm hoping it's fliud retention as I know I should have lost something as I never cheated AT ALL!!xxxxx
Cyn revamping your life sounds a good idea, I don't believe in God or other religion but I know it gives a lot of people hope and peace, do what feels right for you.xxxxx
Well I went up Derby (the nearest city to us) and it was CRAZY, I got nothing I wanted but a lot of stuff I have no idea what to do with! TOM has a lot to answer for! I'm still taking ibuprofen and I've lots of pretty coloured bruises emerging on my arms and legs, lol!

Hi ladies I Have a question I have been drinking a lot of water and doing my wii fit work out and cut down on eating and calories, I am at 1200 calories a day, I got on the wii and for the past two days i have gained , it says 1/4 of a pound, could this be because I am building muscle? I read that a vast amount of water consumption fills in your muscles and makes them more toned. So I am hoping that is it, not to mention I only started back on monday.

Rat I am so sorry about gray kitty

welcome to our new members ,
Everyone I am proud of your loss.
voodoo Sorry about your fall those are not fun at all.

If I left anyone out i am sorry so big hugs to you all.

tracy, it takes a long time to build muscle. you are probabally more likely in starvation. the more you work, the more you need to eat. sites like the daily plate or fatsecret.com (which comes with an awesome app for android - and i assume iphone) and see how many calories you really need, i would assume you would need about 1900 to 2000. i know it sounds like a lot, but try it for a week and you will see a huge difference.

tracy -- waterweight is the most likely reason you gained. We are more water than anything else, and it fluctuates greatly!

See this thread for some great info about weight fluctuations.

Greetings Peeps!

I was thinking about your calorie limit, Tracy and I think you have it down to that magical cutoff where the body goes into starvation. If you were to add calories, I'd focus on protein so you have the building blocks for muscles. I think most athletes try for a 50% protein, 30% carb, 20% fat intake percentage with the carbs being a mixture of complex and simple (like fruit).

Things have been going well for me, despite no weight loss. I've been upping my protein significantly and am hoping that will jump start me. I've also been partaking in the stupid candy (without wheat) and am going to have to go through a candy detox!

Hugs to all during the holidays. Please be safe and check in after it's all over so we all know you made it through in one piece (at least physically)!

Ratkity

Cyn WOOHOO about the snow! Have you see Ava yet? xxxxx
Well I hope next year brings us ALL good health, happiness and of course weightloss!
I went to a works 'do' with a mate (someone had to work so I got the ticket) it was pretty wild! Men stripping their tops of, boobs being rubbed in faces I didn't know whether to laugh, hide or pretend not to notice! lol I laughed as there were only adults there. I did my nails, hair AND I wore a DRESS!!!!
I've bought new scales coz my old ones fell out of the cupboard and broke so I'm saving my weigh-in for 2nd Jan, not looking forward to it!
