300+ Many Moving in March Exercise Thread
WELCOME!!
to the March exercise thread! We're making exercise a habit, giving ourselves some accountability, and getting healthier in the process! In this thread, we track the number of MINUTES we exercise for the month -- whether it's walking or swimming or sweaty housework! Most of us set goals for ourselves (I personally will not exercise much without a goal). If you are a goal-setter, early in the month set your own goal! If you're just getting started, feel free to start with a smaller number of minutes (I did!), maybe just a few hundred. It seems easier for many of us to build on the habit rather than meet a very high goal right away. However, you can also just jump right in without a goal, and you can join us anytime in the month! In 2009 the 300+ club broke our 2007 record and exercised for 216,854 minutes. I believe in 2010 we can break that record!! But it's going to take a lot of work from a lot of people to get it done! Please join us! To keep track, just add your minutes to the existing group’s minutes. If you’re new, look at what other people are doing – it’s pretty easy to figure out! To help everyone keep things straight, please note the OLD minutes and the number of NEW minutes you are adding, such as Group total ~ 500 + 50 = 550 minutes. Here are the running totals to date: 24,105 January (a new MONTHLY record!!!) 24,081 February (nearly a record, and 3 fewer days in the month! So, a daily average record) 48,186 thru February March is a little longer... I think we have to break 25k!!!!! |
Ok, I'm going to man up and just do it. My goal for March is 2800 minutes..

Since I underestimated myself for February and have passed my goal by 50+ minutes, I am moving my goal from 420 minutes to 600 minutes.

Hi I am brand new and what a way to start a new month :D
I promised myself 1 hour a day. so my amount of minutes for march will be 1860 minutes. it sounds like so much to me when i put it that way but I know i CAN do it. exercise has never been something I did, so this is a great thing for me I think posting will help keep me going. |

Now that I'm back and bootless, I have to stick to my Couch to 5K ONLY...doc's orders...so I'm going to pledge 345 minutes, just like the plan says. :)

Okay ladies, I am here.
I did not reach my goal my along shot last month, therefore I think I better start out this month with something a little more realistic for me, something I can achieve. I pledge 200 minutes and if I pass that it will be gravy on the mashed potatoes. So tomorrow it will be ready....set.....go!!!!!!! |
Todays walking total includes a walk in the park, marathon grocery shopping, and vacuuming most of the house, for a total of 65 minutes

I'd love to join in, but rather than overcommit I'm going to put myself for 300 minutes, and hope to pass it. I'm just starting out, so I hope to work up to more!

Just getting back into exercise after a long break.
It took me 40 minutes on the rowing machine to go 5000m today. 110 + 40 = 150 minutes |
well, I did over twice as much exercise minutes than I committed to in February. I set out to do 500 and actually did 1136!! I can hardly believe it. So, I'm going to add another 250 minutes this month and commit to 750 minutes for March.

I got in 15 minutes of walking today, even with this bad foot. Go Me!!! And I am still standing.:carrot::carrot: 235 + 15 = 250 |

I am a bit late in posting this as it is just after midnight. here is my count for march 1st.
cleaning 30minutes x2=60minutes yoga 30 minutes total 90minutes personal goal 1860/1790 minutes left. sounds silly but I am ahead and proud of myself.. not only that I got up to do more of the little things, like when someone needed something i volunteered to get it for them instead of the other way around. so Group total 335 + 90=425 |
40 minutes of rowing (another 5000m on the machine first thing this morning!)

much better than yesterday! If i can keep up this rate I will be doing great! I know I feel sore, but I have more energy.

Pushed my running intervals up to 1 1/2 min running at a 5 and 3 1/2 minutes walking...YEAH!! (that extra 30 seconds was hard, but worth it!) This was yesterday's numbers.

3/2 - 20 minute stationary bike 3/3 - 20 minute mopping (more intense than it sounds!) So personally: 60/300 Group: 1432 + 60 = 1492 |
