Hiya my peeps,

I think as we continue to struggle, we grow despite ourselves. Jacquie, perhaps finding someone who appreciates you for all you do and for that lovely smile I see in your avatar is the thing you really need. It's a shock when this revelation comes about, but I believe you deserve so much better.

My growth involves letting go of my big sister and her troubles. I'm tired of being her confidant, her mother and her rescuer. I think the first step was getting angry at her this past week with the tax thing. She called last night and was "whoa is me" about some hearing that happened without her in NC. She knew about this, ignored dealing with it and then was surprised at the outcome? Her ex got a restraining order against her extended and gained sole legal control of their house so he could sell it back to the bank. There's other information to this story and I'm not going to dig for it, just for her to lie to me about her involvement. I'm still in the angry phase. I'm not sure when I'll be able not to answer the phone when she calls.

Meanwhile, I sorta over did it going to back to work on Monday and Tuesday and was so wiped out energy-wise, I went home and slept for hours. I decided I was pushing it and did work at home today. I'm tired, but not wiped out and grumpy.

Hugs to all... more snow coming tomorrow night to MD area.. ugh!

Jacquie...DON'T FADE AWAY!!!!!!! You are a good person....in rough spot right now. Take care of yourself. Put yourself FIRST before everyone including your BF and things will be what they were to be. I think all things happen for a reason. I just hope for your sake that they don't drag out endlessly and then you can go forward in a happier place. I hope this makes sense....

eta: RK...I am so sorry about the situation with your sister

Hi all,

I have been feeling sorta blue so stayed away. I do need my gall bladder out but...my EKG was abnormal so I have to get clearance from the heart Dr. on Thursday to get off blood thinners, check the EKG and be sure my heart can withstand surgery. It really depressed me cause I feel great except for the tummy issues. I have gained about 15 pounds from my lowest weight and am terrified to keep on climbing so I am trying desperately to do something about it. I have been stress eating which doesn't help at all. It just causes... more stress only about my weight. lol.

Life is sure tough sometimes. lol.
I haven't read any posts so I will try to get back on and "catch up" sometime soon.

blessings all,
Annie

Hiya Annie,

I have been thinking of you and wondering what was going on. You are so much like me and isolate when you are feeling down.

Can the docs give you ursidiol to help your gallbladder in the meantime? Just curious. Maybe the stones are already there and making you miserable.

Hang in there, sweetie. The docs will clear you or give you alternatives to living with that silly gallbladder until they can clear you.

Hugs,
Ratkity

Jacquie: Ahh sweetie..I hope you can find a way to get strong and find that life you deserve. Relationship troubles seem to be everywhere...YOU so deserve a great relationship from someone who loves you..all of you!

Annie: I hope you can get that thing out soon. I was more miserable b4 I had it out. The probiotics have done wonders for me.

Rat: I too have to stop being everyones crutch.

As for me: Tomorrow I go to the heart Dr. I hope he says I can go off the beta blockers since he really thinks my problem was something gasteral (spelling)

We walked tonight and it really kicked my butt. That ok..I need it sometimes!

Had a bad day yesterday. Himself slipped on the ice. He only hurt his pride, but yours truly picked him up. Now my back hurts. Big shock. I did some pain eating last night. Never a good idea. I'm on fluids today to flush out my system to reduce the swelling. It's not bad, but it could have been much worse. A couple of days of rest should take care of it. I've got to learn better ways of dealing with pain.

Hi all,

Heart Doc cleared me to go off the blood thinners for surgery then back on them. I am stoked as I have proof that the Plavix is working, even though it thins my blood terribly. My heart on the echo prior to plavix was working at 47% compression rate (normal hearts are 50% for this particular test) now I am at 55-60 % compression rate. Proof it is working. So, next step is to hear from the surgeon on when I go off the meds for 10 days prior to surgery. The cardiologist won't let me get off baby aspirin completly so hopefully that won't be a problem.

Any who. I am so happy about it cause I am sick of this pain. It is sunny right now and dear hubby just pulled up in the driveway. Who could ask for anything more.

Catherine: sorry about your back. Hope it is better.

Blessings to all,
Annie

Hiya my Peeps!

OMG Annie, 47% is probably what my fat-ladened heart pumps at. I didn't have an abnormal ekg though. Yay for the plavix! I'm psyched that you can get that malfunctioning gall bladder out of you. Keep us informed so I can send extra healing thoughts during your procedure and recovery.

Oh dear about your back, Catherine. I hate my back. It goes out on a whim. I don't even have to pick up fallen Himselves to hurt it. You know all the drills to get it back to functional.

Cyn, what did the doc say? I hope you get your gastrointestinal stuff straightened out.

I am continuing to heal. I've been a grumpy pants these past few days and need to up the lexapro to higher dose as per doc's instructions. I'm switching from cymbalta because that's a delayed release and my new intestines won't keep it long enough to work correctlly.

I'm taking all vitamins. Switched out one iron type for another for better absorption. Also makes me less constipated too.

Made some of my sister's awesome chili (but not so spicy as she makes it). Yummy low carb, high protein.

Hugs to all,
Ratkity

Evening all..

No walking for me tonight..I am to tired! Taking my youngest to the dr tomorrow. He keeps having pains in his lower left side below his stomach. I have no idea what is going on with him. I pray it is nothing serious.

I went to heart Dr today. He sort of made me mad. He was like all is well you dont ahve to see me anymore. I said what about the beta blockers..he said oh stay on those they will help keep your blood pressure down. I said but I dont have high blood pressure. He said follow up with your regular dr and if she wants to ween you off them I dont mind. I was floored! Shouldn't he ween me off them?? I know my regular dr does not want me on them at all. So I will make another appointment with her in about a month and see what she says.

I think everyone in this world..just really needs some major HUGS! Seems like everyone I know is having some sort of problem

I'm so sorry you guys are having trouble with your hearts. I know how scary that is. When I had my angina attack in 2001, my ejecta was about 45%. When I had the angio two years ago, it had improved to 77% and I no longer have to take the heart medicine. The cardiologist had never had anyone be able to go off nitro before. I truthfully don't think they know the bodies of severely obese people really work. My doctor in Florida said I was like a big science experiment, and was in new territory. I was so afraid that I had permanently damaged my heart, I was glad to have been given a second chance.

Hiya Peeps!

I think one of the coolest things that I've heard recently was that the doc's who did my WLS said my liver looked good (it was highly fatty in a 2004 surgery..docs did a biopsy on it then). They didn't even take a biopsy because they didn't think it was necessary. Our bodies are amazing and heal themselves when they are treated properly.

I recently read that 90% of back issues resolve themselves when the offending pressures are taken off (weight, bad shoes/posture, lifting fallen Himselves or other heavy objects, bad weight lifting or exercising).

I am tired of the cold!! It's horrendously windy here and it cuts like a knife when outside in it. One day I'll have the money to replace the drafty old windows in this ancient house.

Meanwhile, I'm sitting here with my heated throw and relaxing. I'm healing tremendously well and am trying not to get PMSy. It's too hard to bury bodies when the ground is frozen!! hehe.

Hugs to all,
Ratkity

Where is everyone? ONLY 2 pages to this thread on Sunday?
Annie hope things carry on getting better for you, I'd be SO fed up in your shoes. How is Moose going, has he been waking you up again in the early hours to go out? xxxxxx
Ratkitty WTG on getting better AND knowing all your efforts paid off for your liver & other 'insides' we often only think of our 'outsides' when losing weight. xxxxxxxx
Catherine how is your hubby, any bruising or aches? How is your weight, have you lost much since recommitting? xxxxxxx
was really feeling a bit fed up (tom is due any day) so popped on the scales; I'd missed 1 weigh-in coz of being snowed in at my parents; expecting a 2-5lb loss as I weigh on Mondays anyway, no a GAIN I am SO angry. I ate op, walked, drank my water AND I started exercising everyday this week too, 30 minutes + walking. My jeans are still falling down but I was so fed up I ate two slices of garlic bread AND 1/2 slice buttered fruit bread! How STUPID AM I ?????? Anyone who's done low carb knows how a little bread will cause a (temporary) gain, I weigh in tomorrow so I'm bracing myself.

It sure will, but it is only water and this too shall pass. Also, you could be UP due to TOM coming on. Just get back on plan and you will be fine. What LC plan are you following?

Hang in there sharon! After surgery, I was tracking my carbs (less than 20g per day) and calories (about 500 per day) and for 10 days I lost NOTHING. Our bodies defy logic at times. My TOM is going to start any day too.

Yes, it's been really quiet around here.

I made some mini quiches yesterday that came out great!

Made in a muffin tin sprayed with non-stick spray:
3 eggs (use egg beaters if worried about fat)
1 can evaporated milk (12 oz)
Browned sausage (I used irish, heavy in garlic) about 1 cup, drained
1 cup of colby jack cheese shredded
0.5 cup of cheddar cheese, shredded (save for topping)

Add all ingredients except cheddar, fill sprayed muffin tins to 3/4 full. Top with cheese. Bake 25 min in pre-heated oven 350F. Allow to cool. Quiches pop out of muffin tin easily. Change cheese types to lower fat content.

Rat - you're a cooking fool these days - thanks for sharing. I ventured this http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/entr...h-chicken.html
yesterday - it was good but oh sooooooooo salty - way too salty for me - pondering how I can do it without the soup mix.

I'm also in the tired of winter/cold category - contemplating bundling up and leashing the girls for a walk - I think snow has melted enough we can walk the streets - does that make us streetwalkers?
