New avatar alert! That's a picture of the real Ratkity. Psychotic, 15 yrs old, hates everyone.. no one believes she cuddles with me, purrs and kisses me when no one is around. I think I captured her essence in the avatar.

Hugs,
Ratkity

LOVE the new avi RK! That is a kitty with one bad attitude!

Nurse practitioner called last night. She would not give me #s but said all thyroid levels (TSH, T3, T4) were in normal range and cortisol level was fine. Also...they did a FSH to see if I was in peri or actual menopause as that can also cause my symptoms...but NO..not at all. The doc who reviewed the results said to see my GP if symptoms are continuing. DUH...of course they are...why do they think I wanted bloodwork done...LOL! Oh well, I will call next week and ask for a referral and see what happens next!

It is good news that the levels are in the normal range though!

Rat-We are actually above freezing, and have been for a couple of days. Just makes everything melt then re-freeze at night. At least with the car now, I don't have to brave the slippery sidewalks. The weirdest part is that since it is so high and dry here, we get snow fog in the mornings where the snow doesn't melt, it goes straight from solid to vapor bypassing liquid. Himself is fine. The Archbishop is going to nominate him to the Pontifical Academy of Science, so he's got a spring in his step, is off to bum a free lunch off some reporter.

Felling pretty good right now. I'm just so ready to lose the rest of this weight. There are so many places I'd like to be able to go to that would require a plane flight, so I need to lose this weight to be able to get on with the rest of my life.

Greetings my Peeps!

Catherine, snow fog must be odd to see. I am so ready for this weight to come off too.

Each day I do a little bit better. I wasn't as tired as the prior weeks today.

Today, I over did the carbs (>50g), but got in 70g of protein. The goal is 100g of protein while keeping carbs under 50g. So far, the only side effect of too many carbs have been a little gas. I'm drinking all my fluids and feel much better. I get nauseous and slightly dizzy when I'm below 50oz of fluids. I definitely went past 64oz and feel so much better. I also get fatigued more easily when I'm dehydrated.

My internet and phone went out for 4 hours today. I am so dependent on the net for phone numbers, that I had to dig for an old bill (I am doing paperless now) for the service phone number.

Thanks for the new avatar kudos! No one lubs the Ratkat like da mama.

Hugs,
Ratkity

Hiya ladies, I have posted a few current pics on the picture page. I am having a bit of a funny time of it weight wise; have got into bad habits recently, eating like the old me, and it doesn't make me feel good...so I am not upping my ticker weight just yet as no clue what it water or fat and will weigh again in a week and see whats what.

On the upside, I am loving my job as a community/district nurse, its so great and am very happy in my work. However it involves hours of kneeling and bending etc so weight loss will be very helpful.

I am also wondering about changing my view on certain foods, I see high calorie and fatty foods as treats, but recently the way they have made me feel I am starting to feel differently and view them more as poisonous and that is a big shift in my head...

We are holidaying in Greece in 3 months time and really want to have lost at least a stone and be feeling slightly more confident in myself before we go....

So I am back to logging and being more aware of what I am eating...

I am exercising quite a lot tho, as well as working and dog walking I now do aquafit and swim a lot, twice recently have swum 100 25m lenghts in one go!

Hi to you all and hope everyone has a great weekend xxx

Greetings my peeps,

Could I get some healing thoughts for the real Ratkity. She's refused to eat anything in 2 days. I called the vet and she's so contrary to take in, the vet said sedating her might do more harm than good and to wait. I think she has a massive hairball because a couple of days ago, she had the throw-ups. She isn't tossing her cookies now. She's drinking water, but has refused cream, chicken broth and heated chicken baby food. Rat is 15 yrs old and normally very healthy.

Thanks for all your help!
Hugs,
Ratkity

Aw! I hope your kitty gets better soon! It might just be the season, mine's starting to shed her winter coat and she's not feeling too well either. Speedy recovery!

Did good this week---focused on healthier foods and I have begun to start writing down the food I eat and weighing myself. Which is a good start for me. I messed up and had a cheeseburger today---didn't even realize that I was eating something I said I wouldn't---I think I was just mindlessly buying food.

this has been a rough week. Took my oldest to ER on wednesday night because his hives were getting worse and he was weezing. 12 hours later..ugh..they sent us home after telling us he needs to be on benadryl and pepcid while taking the steroids. I didn't know that. He seems to be alot better..atleast he can walk now. He is suppose to work today for 4 hours..lets hope he feels up to it.

Today I am babysitting my niece for a few hours. I also gotta clean. Looks like rain today..I gotta get my walking in..somehow.

Hope eveyone is doing as best as they can

Greetings my Peeps!

I'm doing pretty good and am going to attempt a half day of work on Monday to see how I do. I tire easily, but each day I get a little stronger. I stayed up watching the Olympics last night and got up a little late. Then felt tired and took a 3 hr nap! Guess I needed it.

Ratkity is eating a little. I think she's awfully unsteady, but she's complaining as per usual when I pick her up. When she bites me, I'll know she's feeling better. hehe.

My big sister called in a fit. She has been ignoring the bank that holds her old house in foreclosure. They got a judgement against her for $200k and she ignored it. She went to take money out of her account and it was cleaned out from the judgement. I was a little ticked because you have to talk to these people and I told her that she had to arrange payments. A person can't ignore stuff like that and hope it'll go away. She asked for money, but I don't have any. I'm trying not to get too upset by it all. She's been burning through money like it's no tomorrow and living in a house that costs $8800 a month. I told her not to move in there either. Oh well. Rant over. What do you do? Guess I'm just mad at her and her decisions.

Hugs to all,
Ratkity

OMG...$8,800 a MONTH?!?! Is that a typo?!?! Don't let it get to you RK. She dropped the ball by not communicating with the bank. Live and learn...and it will be hard living having your bank account hit all the time. Yikes!

Million...there is nothing wrong with a cheeseburger depending on your plan and how it was served, etc. I had a perfectly legal and yummy double cheeseburger with bacon for lunch...no bun for me!! All on plan! I am making eggplant parm and italian sausages for dinner. Just make sure it fits into your plan and no worries!

Have a great weekend everyone!

Tort,

Unfortunately, it wasn't a typo. I told her not to move there and find somewhere cheaper. She has spent my annual salary 3x over in the past year .. easily. I even live outside of Washington, DC.. next to CA, one of the highest costs of living in this area. *sigh* I complained to my other 2 sisters about it. Letting go is hard. I don't want to answer the phone when it's from her now. On top of this, she's drinking heavily. ugh. family.

I'm hanging in there. Probably over did it today. Will go to bed early.

Hugs,
Ratkity
