Wow, no posts over the weekend?? Where did everyone go?

I had an okay weekend -- both foodwise and life-wise. It was pretty relaxing and I reigned my eating in. So, yay. But I need to up my exercise!

I had a great weekend at home. Didnt do alot of anything but did get a few things accomplished. Eating was easy and great! I am truly amazed at how well I am doing when I really put my mind to it. I am hoping the scale agrees with me on thursday.
My youngest just called and passed her 1st semester in the nursing program.I am thrilled and relieved its over for her...now just 3 more to go.
Heather- I agree with needing to increase exercise.I am getting in 30 min a day but need to work towards getting in more.
Hope everyone has a wonderful week/

I really thought I got here over the weekend - I'm like Debbie - I had a great, productive weekend and hit the gym too!

I'm in the zone not just with food and exercise but my head seems to be in the right place too. I've been looking at gifts in a jar - anybody ever made brown sugar body scrub? I love the stuff but have always bought it - I like to give each of my employees a little something - that with a bath puff was what I was thinking - thoughts and suggestions are appreciated.

Be warm - be well.

I've been sick all weekend. Today I basically had to strap a tissue box to my hips. My nose is so irritated now. Nothing tastes good. I tried to clean house, because I've been sick for a few days now, and my former maids from Indonesia and Kuwait never showed up...gosh, I miss them so! I miss getting sick and knowing that I could stay in bed and get well and they would manage the house and the kids for me. I used to get well inside of three days, but when I'm still running the household, motivating kids, running errands for my parents and not getting to bed before 11, it takes me a lot longer to get well. Sick for six days now!

I'm feeling a pity party coming on...better go clean the kitchen and get bach in the game.

Georgia -- I'm not feeling well, either. I hope we both feel better soon!!

I'm restructuring my day to get more rest today... and hope that helps...

georgia and heather- hope you both get feeling better fast!

woke up to really high winds here this morning. Going to send hubby out to secure our lawn furniture.
Scales are going down...down..down. Im hoping for a good loss.
I never realized how much fat was in a nice lean steak...wow those points are high for beef!! I ate my steak last night but had a huge salad with loads of veggies and just a tad of dressing. I will be more careful about buying steaks or beef in the future.
My challenge today will be a program at church with finger foods. I love fingerfoods. I am thinking about not staying for the food...There isnt usually any veggies there.

Windy here too! Not to mention cold. Fortunately we did not get the accumulation of snow here in the city they got not far away. I think maybe we got 3 inches.

Debbie - glad you are enjoying your new way of eating. I'm mixing things up a bit and making sure I have some protein at breakfast instead of so carb loaded. The one thing I will say is I seem more hungry than before. It's a nice change in taste though.

Georgia and Heather - take care of yourselves. Make sure you get plenty of fluids - not to mention plenty of rest.

Be warm - be well.

ugh. Laryngitis. Also some minor congestion and mild fever. Why do I think this will only get worse?

Mornin',

My laptop died a couple days ago. I've ordered a new Macbook but it'll take a few days to get here and I've got to sneak on at work so I may be AWOL for a few days.

I am happy to report a 1.6lb loss for the week.Im getting close to having 90lb back off. I am sure going to try and keep from ever having to see the 220s again!!! It feels good to be back in the teens and this time im planning on not hanging out in them as long!!! Im hoping to be at 100lb mark by jan 27th(my 2 yrs anv of getting healthy). I was so hoping for it to be a fast trip down to goal but we all know that it isnt easy and plus longer it takes better the chances of keeping it off for life.
I get my granddaughter today and have already got my lunch planned out so its easy and quick. I cant rely on a slimfast this week for lunch.(recall)
I skipped the program at church last night...I had a horrible headache and just stayed home. Hubby went out and got us some dinner and I ate it and went to bed
Geo and heather_ how are you both feeling? I hope its a better day for yall.
Carol- your on my mind today..you are such and inspiration to me !
judy- cant wait to have you back with us...
teri- come out and play
julia-?? where are you?

Hi Ladies! I actually think I have tonsilitis. It would explain both the severe sore throat and why it's not progressing to the flu. I will try to have it checked out today, but if it's viral there's not much they can do.

It has been easier to stay on plan, however. I've missed some social events. So that's the silver lining.

Hi ladies,

Wow, is it Thursday already? Time gets away from me so easily these days.

I'm just about done with my holiday baking obsessions. Thank goodness. And tonight I'm packing it all up for disbursement. We are sending cookies and breads overseas to three soldiers. One is DH's GD's husband who is in Egypt. The other two we sort of adopted through bakinggals.com. They organize monthly shipments to soldiers who get nominated. I've had several recipes I wanted to try so I got to without having a stash of goodies to eat. I was good about putting them in the outside freezer immediately. Well, except for the cranberry walnut biscotti. I've never made biscotti so it was fun to try. Much better than store bought!

So DH and I kind of jumped off the deep end last week. His mother has upcoming money issues as in not a whole lot and still in good health. We had her cash out some whole life policies so she'd have cash when hers runs out in June. DH has been wracking his brain on ways that he can use that money to make a little more money than she'd get in a CD or money market. DH kept coming up with all these ideas (he's a salesman through and through) and I finally said, "I'm thinking alpaca's". He took that and we ran with it. We have an empty 4 acres and set up for animals. We'd already decided that the horse boys were more than likely staying over at Anne's because she has 35 acres for them to be on plus her arena. We did some research and found two nearby farms. This Saturday, we will pick up four llama females. The two males are being gelded and we'll get them in a month. On Sunday, three gelded Alpaca's arrive. We are getting "R & T's Happy Tails Farm" off the ground. We are going to have fiber animals. We don't expect to live off the farm income but if it can produce some extra cash a year, we'll be happy. And they are less work and expense than horses. I'll go over 3-4 days a week to ride the horse boys. Now I have to write up our business plan and figure out how to create a website.

Wish I could say that I've been doing really healthy things for myself. I will say that I am energized and feel very enthusiastic about building what I want to be my retirement. I haven't been sitting around feeling depressed or doing any comfort eating. I'm still hanging in there at my current weight. Not that I'm happy with that but at least its not going up anymore.

Better get this posted. I'm sneaking it in at work.

to those that are losing and also for those who are able to maintain during this holiday season. to those of you that are sick.

to all!

Wow, alpacas!! Sounds like fun!

I'm just checking in to let you all know I'll be out of town for the weekend and probably not checking in much. I'll be visiting family, and hopefully my tonsilitis will be doing better by then... Have a great weekend!
