Default Scale Problems

Hello all. I have been on my plan since the beginning of June. I have an obession with the scale... I know that weight changes day by day but I have an obsession with weighing 2 to 3 times a day. I am going to try to not weigh myself until my month anniversary which is November 10.. What does everyone else do?

I also have this obsession and weigh myself multiple times per day. I'd like to hear the advice of others.

I suffered from an eating disorder for several years, and I know that stepping on a scale is a trigger for me. I start to obsess and then I beat myself up and it just spirals downhill from there.

I'm sure most people are not to that extreme... but I find that weighing myself too often (more than once a week) leads to me feeling guilty and that's just something I have the ability to avoid.

I avoid weighing myself daily by putting my scale in my linen closet in the hallway. Out of sight, out of mind.

I weighed myself several times a day when I first started noticing I was losing weight. It really helped to know how much my weight fluctuated, and it helped me figure out what time of day was best to weigh myself for a little bit of encouragement =) After a few weeks the obsession went away, now i weigh myself once a day, usually at night since I think I tend to weigh a pound or two more in the evenings - it gives me the extra incentive to work out the next morning. I don't see any harm in weighing yourself as often as you want as long as its not interfering with your motivation.

I don't feel obsessive about weighing. It doesn't affect my behavior or my mood if I'm up or down. I just use it as a tool to gauge if I need to be doing something more or less. I weigh myself once every morning, but I only count the actual weigh in on Sunday morning.

Keep in mind that for MOST people your weight is going to increase as your body wakes up. Lowest scale number is going to be first thing in the morning. If you weigh several times a day then most likely you will get different numbers throughout the day. I aim for once a day while I know I'm losing because its encouraging. When I was gaining I avoided those evil numbers like the plague!

I used to be a scale nut, but when I moved a year ago, no room space for my old fashion block doctor scale...so whenever I visit my mother, sister, thats every weekend and holidays. I get weighed in.

Rule...never weigh yourself feeling bloated and stuffed...weigh in on a empty stomach.
