Default Back in the saddle again

I'm trying again to get back to a more reasonable weight. This time I'm trying the South Beach approach. So far, it's led me to eat more nutritious foods and cook at home more often, but hasn't done much for portion control.

Anyone have any big success with South Beach? Or other recommendations for sticking to it this time around?

I wish I could help, I don't know much about SB. I am on restricted carbs due to IR but Im not sure if the diets are the same.
I do however struggle with portion control. I am a "grazer" I pick all day long. So I had to stock up on cucumbers, carrots, peas. They are free carbs on my diet..so Im not sure if that would help on your diet, do you have any "free" items on SB?. Learning to eat the raw veggies without the ranch dressing was really hard but after a few weeks it was ok. Also I chew A LOT of gum..LOL.
Another thing that just popped into my head...I make sure I eat every 2-3 hours, some days I can only go 2 until I feel like Im starving, but it has helped with portion control.
