    to the July exercise thread! We're making exercise a habit, giving ourselves some accountability, and getting healthier in the process!

    In this thread, we track the number of MINUTES we exercise for the month -- whether it's walking or swimming or sweaty housework! Most of us set goals for ourselves (I personally will not exercise much without a goal). If you are a goal-setter, early in the month set your own goal! If you're just getting started, feel free to start with a smaller number of minutes (I did!), maybe just a few hundred. It seems easier for many of us to build on the habit rather than meet a very high goal right away. However, you can also just jump right in without a goal, and you can join us anytime in the month!

    In 2007 the 300+ club exercised 205,352 minutes. Let’s break that record!

    To keep track, just add your minutes to the existing group’s minutes. If you’re new, look at what other people are doing – it’s pretty easy to figure out! To help everyone keep things straight, please note the OLD minutes and the number of NEW minutes you are adding, such as
    Group total ~ 500 + 50 = 550 minutes

    We've made a great start and I'd love to see us hit 20K minutes for July!!! What do you say chicks and roosters??

  • I'm in!For 1,000 minutes. I just started exercising,and want to make a goal,I think I can attain.
  • I really need this accountability. I just joined the YMCA and I haven't exercised for a very long time! I'm in for 900 minutes.

  • Hey guys, I'm in again, upping my minutes to 900 this month.
  • As usual, I'm not setting a specific goal. Basically I'll be walking 5 days a week (30-45 mins) and lifting 3 days a week (although taking a rest week after this one). June ended up with 1422 mins total, plus a fair bit of gardening.

    Anyway... 45 min walk this morning.

    Group Total: 45
  • 20 min cardio, 25 min yoga for 45 min today.

    Personal 45/900

    Group 45 + 45 = 90
  • 20 minutes on the bike and 10 minutes stretching and toning.

    Personal total
    30 minutes.

    Group total
    90 + 30 = 120 minutes!
  • 60 min. on elliptical Personal 60/1,000
    Group 120+60=180 minutes
  • This month I am aiming for 660 minutes of exercise per week for the last 4 weeks. The first week since it is short I am shooting for 450 minutes. This should give me a total of 3090 minutes for the month of July.

    Wednesday: Aquafit Class 60 Minutes + 15 minutes Swimming Laps = 75 Minutes

    Personal For Month of July: 75 Minutes
    Goal for Month = 3090 Minutes

    Group: 180 + 75 = 255 minutes
  • Im not setting a goal either, just seeing how I much I do!

    Today 45 minute walk.


    Group: 255 + 45 = 300 minutes
