I have already walked 50 min today while the kids played at the playground. I actually have started wearing a path in the grass around the fence line.LOL
I got a bit to much sun this weekend so had to drag out the sunscreen today.
I lost 1lb this week..was hoping for more...but a pound is a pound.

I was not overly good yesterday. Laziness and poor planning on my part. However I didn't go whole hog. So it wasn't terrible. I resolve to try and do better today, and tomorrow and so on. Hope everyone else had a better weekend.

Gorgeous, cool day in Northern CA today. My bed arrived and it's gorgeous! Looking forward to sleeping in it tonight.

Yesterday I cooked a pot of steel cut oats for breakfast, but never ate it because my older son, Quinn, and I had an appointment for which we were late. So I left the lid on the pot after turning off the stove. When we got back to the house, I put it in the fridge. Had some for breakfast this morning; just microwaved it and it was good! I don't like sweetened hot cereal, so I was weird and poached two eggs to go on top of it, plus sauteed three cups of spinach in a little olive oil to put on it as well. YUM!!! I know it's not for everyone, but I love it!

I weighed in...lost six of the ten I had gained back due to emotional eating two weeks ago. I am convinced calorie counting is the way to go for me.

Hi ladies. Quiet Monday round here, eh?

Did a little old-car-cleaning but still haven't finished the job. Also did some academic work today, but didn't manage to get my mother doing anything besides vegetating.

Eating was basically okay, despite having a social event in the evening. I did have a piece of cake, but it fit into the day, just barely.

Georgia: Good job on the loss. WTG. I count calories--more or less--too. How many are you counting to at this point?

MadamRuppy: Hope the rest of your day was OP.

DG: You're so right, a pound is a pound and a loss is a loss! Good work.

Vortex, I eat between 1800 and 2000 calories a day, depending on how much weight training I do (it makes me hungrier). And I keep carbohydrates around 150 g most days, but sometimes allow myself to get up to 200 g, again, depending on my level of weight training and how tired I feel as a result. I wish I could keep fats down at 65 g or lower, but for me, that's the most difficult one to control. I just don't like fat-free stuff. I've eliminated fats from as many things as I could. But if I'm going to have cheese, which is once or twice a week, I gotta have full-fat. And I do eat half an avocado every day, which is very healthy fat, plus fiber.

I am going underground for a couple of days. Going for another load of boxes at the other house, which is always good for burning calories.

Heather - I'm getting excited to post my exercise minutes - I have exceeded my goal with 2 days left - guess I need to push it for May.

My scale is not budging - GRRRRR. DH is going to be out of town for a week starting on Thursday - I'm looking forward to doing some special meals for me without having to thing "will he like this?" Our anniversary is Saturday and he will be gone - thinking of sending a book to his hotel - suggestions?

Angela - I try to stay under 1800 - preferably 1650 but I don't feel pressured until I get to 2000. How many are you shooting for?

Lilion - how is your tile project coming? I hope better than ours - Monday he no showed. Today he delivered material. At this rate it should be done by Memorial Day.

Terri - how bout this weather? I wish it would make up it's mind.

Debi - get some rest. You are so busy taking care of everyone else - take care please.

Geo - did you get great new linens too? I'm eying a beautiful new tapestry for our bed. I'm sure I will somehow justify it eventually.

Hope you all are having great weeks!

I usually shoot for 2000 as well, but I'm thinking I need to go lower.

GG - I think a tapestry sounds lovely! I like doing unusual bedding. When I lived in Kuwait I bought up several silk sari in a wide variety of colors. The embroidery is so beautiful. Eventually I'm going to make a quilt with it. But for now, it's all white sheets and quilt coverlet from Target.

Vortex - I have tried so hard to drop my calories. I really lose weight when I'm eating under 1800, but I also get very, very hungry. And because my hunger is more hypoglycemic in nature, it messes with my mental state, I get really shaky and I overeat. As long as I remain under 2000, I still lose, albeit very, very slowly.

I was thinking that I could eat as if I were at goal, 180 lbs. and 20% body fat with a moderately active lifestyle. But that's around 2500 calories, according to what I'm using to calculate it. I'm afraid I'll gain at that intake. I'll have to make sure to stay active once a reach goal.

Listen to me...if I could just break 300 lbs, oh what a dance party I'll be throwing!

Well, Georgia, breaking 300 isn't that far away. I've been hovering here for a while, not exactly counting my calories. I've been counting calories off and on since I was 7, and I'm a creature of habit who thinks she can estimate this stuff. BAD Angela. Naughty. So yesterday I went looking for an online food diary that I would like better than fitday and I think I found one; logged everything yesterday even though I went nuts at and after dinner.

Today I'll log again and shoot for 1900.

Barb--Hang in there! Hope the week goes smoothly.

Wow, just looked at my post and realized, it's really true. I was 7 when my mother took me to a nutritionist and I started counting calories, and I've counted calories off and on ever since. In junior high we tried a clinic that gave vitamin B shots for a while, and lecithin tablets and other some such stuff. Tried a therapist in my 20s -- expressly for weight loss. Much good it's done me; the closest I've been to a normal weight was senior year of high school at 190. Yikes, that really is depressing. So right now I'm just going to focus on 299.

Hi Ladies!

Ohhh...I THINK the kiddo is asleep. We continue to battle the sleep issues here, but tonight went well (so far). And...the big news here today...he pee-peed in the potty! We are slowly getting there with potty training. Hopefully when he's done it will be easier to train the little one.

It's actually been a really nice week here. It's always busy when hubby is out of town, but the house is strangely peaceful. I think a big part of it has to do with me struggling to get my hubby to help out much around the house. In the evenings he has a bad habit of spending too much time playing computer games and I get very annoyed and a bit, hurt and resentful. When he's not here it all falls on my shoulders and I have no one to resent. Hmmm...not sure that all makes sense.

Food and exercise have been great but the scale has halted. I know I just have to keep doing the right things and push through this. I am working with my trainer tomorrow and plan on talking to him about it all. Not sure if I should lower my calories or mix anything up. I'm a little bummed I'm not going ot hit my BFF challenge goal. I am flying to MN a week from tomorrow for a long weekend that I know will include eating and drinking....but also lots of exercise. I was hoping to have a few more pounds off by then. We've been the closest of friends since High School and I'm going to visit him to celebrate his 40th Bday. He hasn't seem me since last June when I was 340ish!

Vortex - Oh my...you brought back so many memories of the childhood visits to the nutritionalist, the calorie counting, the diet plans.... I realize as an adult the biggest thing my parents left out was being consistent with healthy choices. They both struggled with their weight as well. They would take up exercise and it would last a week. Or have a healthy dinner and I'd find dad eating crackers and mayo late a night.... I am making changes that will last for life and I want my boys to learn healthy habits as well.

What's everyone else up to? Any plans for the weekend? I am taking the little guy to a Gymboree B-day party on Saturday, hitting the gym, biking if the weather is nice and hopefully doing a little shopping.

Off to decide on a little snack...

Night Gals!
