We are a group of individuals who weigh or have weighed 300+, or near there. This group was formed to provide a place for others like us to find support, inspiration, and hope. We are aware of the distinct problems that come with weighing over 300 lbs.
We want to invite everyone (roosters as well as chicks!) to join us in our journey. We share laughter and tears, heartaches and fears ... joys and celebrations. We also share what works for us and what doesn't.
We know the thread can move very quickly, and that people often make "personal" remarks and keep a number of conversations going. Please feel free to contribute even if you can't make personal comments all the time.
Finally, we also have several extra threads going on simutaneously such as Monthly Challenges, Weekly Weigh-ins, Recipes, Bios, Photos, Exercise, Info for Getting Started and more. Many of these threads are stickied at the top of the page. Please feel free to check them all out.
We have found this thread to be more than just a support group... we have found it to become a home. We invite you to join us.
I know you'll all agree that we are really thankful for the free services here at 3FC. The sisters offer all of this support and information with no charges to us. There are a couple of ways though that we can help out.
If you are thinking about buying anything at Amazon, why not help out 3FC at the same time? You can do this by clicking on the button for the Amazon "store" in the upper right hand corner of the screen on the PURPLE tool bar. A portion of your purchase price will be given to 3FC by Amazon. It doesn't increase your price at all, but it does help out 3FC. You can use any of the Amazon.com links that you see on the site in order to help contribute to the site.
Also, BTW, in case you didn't know it, you can view the message boards "ad free" for a minimal charge. I think it's $15 for 6 months. A very small investment to be rid of the annoying ads and make your pages load quicker.

Well Purpleorc and I were thinking alike this mornnig. lol. WE both started a new thread at the same time. Luckily my got absorbed, somehow, into hers. lol.
Toni: Hugs and remember no matter what the chart says, you will be no longer morbidly obese soon.
Luan: Tee hee, God is awesome not letting you have that cinnabon. lol. It is amazing how He works. They are tasty though.
Purple: Good morning. Great minds think alike huh?
Well, it is 4:12 and I am needing to go brush my teeth and head out the door for work. As I figured, my weight is down today but, I already changed my tracker and reported for the week on BLC thread so I will just wait until Friday to do anymore changes. If I have a huge loss, hoping I do, then I will have to take into consideration that most of it was from TOM.
Everyone have a wonderful week and a great Monday.
Morning Sorry didn't keep up well last week with the thread. I hope to be able to this week. Although today isn't going good already. I'm staying O.P just my boys who have Autism are having bad meltdown day already. So not much sitting down time for me today. Also got to start our homeschooling soon here. Boys have doctor appt today and I dread it always turns bad they hate waiting and doctors. Well was hoping to write more but gotta run another meltdown.
Hello and good morning! I'm new but wanted to jump in and say hello instead of lurking like I usually do. The support you ladies give on this board is amazing. Hopefully together we can win this battle.
browneyegirl: Welcome to teh group! Lurking is ok but posting is way better.
Well yesterday I finally got my tree down. It is a sad tree that I have had for a looong time. Poor top was bent beyond repair. and thanks to my lovely cats, it has seen better days. Hello ladies :]
I am very pleased to report that WI went very well this morning as I've lost 7 lbs! Yaaaaay!!
School was very relaxing today for a change. In English, we were discussing about the coursework that has to be done by the end of March then we watched Northanger Abbey. For the coursework, I have to compare Northanger Abbey with Jane Eyre because we are doing a pre and post-gothic novel thing. It's quite an interesting coursework! In ICT, the rest of class was with the teacher going over stuff as they have to re-sit a module to improve their results so I used the computer to research things for my other English class, I have an essay on the Duchess of Malfi. Such a productive day!
purpleorc
Do you see yourself as a purple whale? Just wondering because of your username, purpleorc Sorry if I'm wrong, though.
I'm getting used to the tablets now so I don't have a headache which is a good thing because I can focus on my diet and enjoy losing weight!
Aaw, thanks. My mam means a lot to me and it upsets me when I see her unwell. She's been unwell for quite a long time and she doesn't deserve that kind of suffering. But still, everyone has to go through something bad because it's life.
Annie
Hello, how are you today?
Debbie
I don't have headaches anymore which is a big relieve!
Thought I'd check in and kill some time. I don't think I posted my weight in results this week in our weekly thread. I was down 2.6lbs on Sat
brown eyed girl ~ to the board
Cyn~ I've dealt with werid TOM before. Hope you figure it out soon.
dgramie ~ You are a brave women lol I have 4 and sometimes feels like a daycare. Yes meltdowns are no fun at all. SO far so good this afternoon but that could change once we get to the doctor's office.
Well best run for now. Mike should be here soon he is offwork. And going with me woooohoooo so happy don't have to take all 4with me to the doctor's not a fun thing.
Hi ladies! I am trying to get better about stopping in and actually posting at least every couple days. I've learned that the accountability that goes with posting frequently goes hand in hand with whether or not I am doing well and staying OP.
This morning, I woke up to a flat tire. Unfortunately I also woke up to snow and blowing/drifting winds. But, instead of calling for a ride (like I really wanted to do ), I got dressed in warm clothes and walked to work. It's about a 15 minute walk in regular weather, but it took me about 25 minutes with the snow and wind. I am proud to say that I didn't stop, and despite my asthma, I wasn't out of breath when I got there (but, I'm pretty sure I started to form icicles!). I have some sore muscles in my legs, and my ankle hurt a bit, but it was great! It's not something I plan on doing every day during this kind of weather, but it's definitely doable in the spring and summer and I think that will be one of my major goals. Instead of driving everywhere, I am going to make an honest effort to walk to work, my parents' house, my sister's house, and probably even the store from time to time.
Ok, enough babbling. I need to get dinner together and do some house work. Have a great evening!
Not sure of the protocol for posting a new thread I hope that I did not tread on anybodies toes by posting one up yesterday. That sure was not my intention and apologies if I upset anyone.
Not sure what happened to this post yesterday but another mystery of cyberspace I think. This is the message I had posted but fortunately I had saved it so this is from last time on my desktop on my pc so I have just reposted this morning.
Weather still remains grey and overcast with burst of showers thrown in for fun It has got a touch warmer now at 10C so that has made thing a wee bit more comfortable for me.
Today we are going to have a meal at the local pub. I will have chicken with salad and a jacket potato so nothing too off plan I think. I just wanted a break from cooking as you ladies know it is tiring not to mention time consuming. I do like to cook and create things don't get me wrong but I do find it some what exhausting at times. I hope this week to make the patties suggested by Rosebud (another poster here on 3fc) this week when I have purchased some minced meat. I have searched my freezer and unfortunately none to be found else I would have cooked them sooner. Not sure whether yet to do it in the tomato sauce suggested by her grandmother. There were two versions of the recipe one really old one from her Irish Grandmother. Hmm decisions I really do not know which way to go on this matter yet
I am really pleased with my efforts this weekend I have got myself back on track food wise and exercising which were slipping up a bit. That is the trouble when your under the weather things like food and exercise get swept a bit under the carpet so to speak. So now I have been planning so I know what we are having so that helps big time. If still hungry then there is always fruit to call upon to fill that little gap. Hope to get my exercise session in this afternoon just before tea. That way it give my legs time to recover. Gosh can not think it is another weekend gone and we are back to Monday again.
I am sure that you have heard of the composer Andrew Lloyd Webber of Evita and starlight express fame. Well this year he is composing the song for the Eurovision song contest. I know this will mean nothing to you but this is a competition that is run every year between European countries for the best song. It has launched the careers of several well know people after winning. It was the start of ABBA, Celine Dion and Lulu to name a few in its 52 years of running. This year it is from the city of Moscow in Russia. Unfortunately we have done poorly in the last 10 years so it has thought it has come the time to turn things around. So a competition has been devised and 6 acts were selected by Andrew Lloyd Webber and the viewer vote who they would like to keep. So it will be interesting how things turn out this time
Gggirls Now that spice thai chicken soup sounds delicious. I am so missing spicey foods which I can not eat due to the ulceration in my tummy. Though I do enjoy spicy foods. Spices can be used so many ways in cooking and reduces the need for sodium as you have plenty of taste from those to keep the food tasty.
Dogpal Alright I confess I have a wapped sense of humour I think years of working in the psychiatric nurse it was a way we dealt with the stressful enviorment that comes with it. Plus I have a DH with a great sense of humour that keeps me on my toes shall I say. You can never feel down for long with a sense of humour for your friend. It helps you see the bright side of things when something has happened in your life.
Realist Excellent and simple BMI calculator you have given us there. My BMI at the minute is 26.8 so it is nice to have knowledge that you are going in the right direction. Whether I will get to 24 or below is another matter but I figure the nearer I am to that figure the better overall it must be for my health. My big aim was to become healthier so I that I continue to walk as long as my condition would let me. Rather than obesity take it away as that was down to me stopping me walking.
I have read everyones posts this morning but do not have time to personally reply to everyones at present as I am just off out to my oxygen therapy for the week. So I am hoping that I will have some time later to drop by and answer personal post. It has been nice to catch up this am and drop by nevertheless.
