300+ Amazing August Exercise Thread
:welcome: to the August exercise thread! We're making exercise a habit, giving ourselves some accountability, and getting healthier in the process! In this thread, we track the number of MINUTES we exercise for the month -- whether it's walking or swimming or sweaty housework! Most of us set goals for ourselves (I personally will not exercise much without a goal). If you are a goal-setter, early in the month set your own goal! If you're just getting started, feel free to start with a smaller number of minutes (I did!), maybe just a few hundred. It seems easier for many of us to build on the habit rather than meet a very high goal right away. However, you can also just jump right in without a goal, and you can join us anytime in the month! And you want to jump in, because one of the main reasons to be here is to track how many minutes we exercise as a group! In 2007, we exercised over 200,000 minutes... |

No goals for the month, just a generic 2x60mins cardio and 3xlifting (~90mins) per week. Although I'm taking a couple of rest days between Stages.

I am going to keep my goal at 2000 minutes for August. I made it in July + 45 minutes. Hopefully I can do well again.

Went swimming for about 3 hours today, I'm going to count 60 minutes of it since I sort of piddlefarted around, too.

I've been sick the past couple of days, so today was the first day I've been on the bike this week. Not a good start to the month, but I'll do extra to catch up.

I kept my minutes tracked, and now I feel that I'm part of something bigger than me, and it keeps me motivated to keep adding to it because I want to see huge exercise numbers for the group. Hi everyone, just noticed this thread, I started three days ago so I'll put up all those minutes. I don't have a long term minutes goal but I'm trying to do at least 45 min a day.
8/7 - 75 min - walking 8/8 - 45 min - walking 8/9 - 45 min - walking Group Total = 1326 + 165 = 1491 |
60 min cardio today. Probably one of my lamest workouts, though. I got a sharp pain in my abs in the first 5 min on the elliptical. I moved to recumbent bike, which I just don't like as much... went back to elliptical eventually, but never got my HR up. Oh well, at least I did an hour!
