300+ Weekly thread #1158

WELCOME

We are a group of individuals who weigh or have weighed 300+, or near there. This group was formed to provide a place for others like us to find support and hope. We are aware of the distinct problems that come with weighing over 300 lbs.

We want to invite everyone (roosters as well as chicks!) to join us in our journey. We share laughter and tears, heartaches and fears ... joys and celebrations. We also share what works for us and what doesn't.

We know the thread can move very quickly, and that people often make "personal" remarks and keep a number of conversations going. Please feel free to contribute even if you can't make personal comments all the time.

Finally, we also have several extra threads going on simutaneously such as Monthly Challenges, Weekly Weigh-ins, Recipes, Bios, Photos, Exercise, Info for Getting Started and more. Many of these threads are stickied at the top of the page. Please feel free to check them all out.

We have found this thread to be more than just a support group... we have found it to become a home. We invite you to join us.

I know you'll all agree that we are really thankful for the free services here at 3FC. The sisters offer all of this support and information with no charges to us. There are a couple of ways though that we can help out.

If you are thinking about buying anything at Amazon, why not help out 3FC at the same time? You can do this by clicking on the button for the Amazon "store" in the upper right hand corner of the screen on the PURPLE tool bar. A portion of your purchase price will be given to 3FC by Amazon. It doesn't increase your price at all, but it does help out 3FC. You can use any of the Amazon.com links that you see on the site in order to help contribute to the site.

Also, BTW, in case you didn't know it, you can view the message boards "ad free" for a minimal charge. I think it's $15 for 6 months. A very small investment to be rid of the annoying ads and make your pages load quicker.

There have been some concerns expressed by the powers that be about copyright infringement. So please, if you are directly quoting someone else or printing an article in whole or in part, please give credit where credit is due!!!

I hope I did that right!!!
WEll I hope everyone had a good weekend.
I had a great mothers day!!I ate way to much food. I made chicken enchalidas and they were awesome !! I counted up the calories and they have about 500 each. Not to mention the beans and rice and chips and salsa and taco cheese ball my daughter in law made. I had indigestion all night long.I use to keep indigestion...i sure dont miss not having it!! I slept like a baby the very first night I dieted. I enjoyed my meal but it sure wasnt worth it or the 3 extra pounds my scales showed this morning. I know it was all salty and the extra weight will be gone in a few days.
My son and his wife went to church with me and got me a pampered chef collapsable bowl. and a grandma bracelet. They are having the ultra sound on wed so maybe we will be able to find out what its going to be. NOT that it really matters!!! Oldest daughter got me a pair of new balance walking shoes. Youngest got me a new night gown. Hubby got me his usual hanging baskets(3) and bedding plants. I think I enjoyed having all 3 kids home at the same time more than anything!!

Hubby still has a rash and i am calling his dr this morning. I am afarid its the new med. Guess I will just see what the dr says to do.

I only have the boys this week during the day and am able to do some housework plus a little walking around the block. ITs to wet to take them to the playground today.
I am behind in putting away laundry...maybe i can get that done today while they nap.
I also need to get outside and retie up my tomatoe plants the wind was horrible here yesterday.Mom said the cold weather we had yesterday was blackberrie winter. I guess that should be the end of winter for us.....just hope it doesnt go straight into hot summer!!!
I am to far behind to catch up on personal. Glad to see everyone and have a great week.

Everyday brings a new Epiphany it seems. I have shoe issues. I told my husband when we were first engaged that I was high maintenance when it comes to shoes. I have very large, yet very narrow feet with high arches. I get plantars really bad at times, so I have to change shoes every 3 months or so, and also can only buy certain kinds of shoes. I put on some summer shoes from last year that should have had a month or so left in them, and they were too small. Quite irritating. When I first started losing weight, I was a 13, and then went down to an 11. Then when I started walking they went up to 12. Now, I'm buying men's 10.5's in order for them to be comfortable, but they seem so big. You know how you put your thumb down to see where your big toe is? I realized this morning, that doesn't work for me. My second and third toes are actually longer than my big toe. If I buy for my big toe, they end up being to small in the long run, but in the store they seem okay, because my toes kind of curl and hide until I spend a long time on them. My toes are like my fingers, very long and skinny. If I ever lose my toes to frost bite, I'd probably take an 8 or 9 shoe. They are so long that I can hold a pencil and write with them. I can write left handed with my left foot better than I can with my left hand. What really freaks my husband out is that I can snap my toes like you would snap your fingers to get someone's attention. So I guess getting angry at myself for buying the wrong size is useless. I just need to buy big to give my talented toes the room they deserve. Besides, anything I can't wear, he can. I can wear his shirts, so it only seems fair. I do draw the line at sharing underwear. I have to wash those things, so there's no way I'm going to wear them.

JuliaDH 05-12-2008 11:31 AM

Catherine - I love you! Since I have been here so much of what you say makes me feel better, laugh and have a good time! Thanks!

gaia3 05-12-2008 11:32 AM

Wow! Those are some talented toes!! Mine are short and stubby. LOL

Thanks for the invite DebiMitch! I need all the support I can get and I totally pigged out yesterday as well with T-bone steak, baked potatoes, salad, crab dip, garlic bread, chicken nuggets, buttermilk cornbread, crowder peas and onions, and a honey Bun for a late snack...

But, I'm right back to work on SBD, Phase 1 today...I'm doing SBD half of the week and low fat/cal counting the rest of the week and I use Alli as well. I didn't show a weight gain this morning, and I don't think that I totally messed up, but I sure as heck didn't lose any weight this weekend. So--this week I'll lose!!:)

dogpal 05-12-2008 11:38 AM

Jeanne: Hi hon. Glad to see you back. How are things?

Bernice: I am currently going to Curves 3 times a week for a month long Free Study. The study is free membership to Curves for a month and they weigh and measure you at the beginning and end. I do enjoy it is all women there and I work very hard on the machines. I am noticing that when I really work the machines I can feel that I worked my muscles afterward. I don't know if I am going to continue after the free month or not yet until I see the results of the measurments and weight loss. I hope you enjoy your time there. So far everyone is very nice. Sounds like you had a wonderful time with your kids and DH on Mother's Day. I was in a size 12 for a long time at 510 pounds but as my weight has come down so has my shoe size. Prior to gaining all of the weight I was in anywhere from a 9-10 and 1/2. Right now a 10 usually fits me perfectly. I just got some Curves Flip Flops. I walked around in them in the house for a tiny little while yesterday and I don't know if it was in my head or they actually felt like they were working out my calves. lol.

Sandy: Welcome Back. Jump in whenever you feel like you want to . All the ladies here are real Gems!

Debbie: Glad that you enjoyed the movie. I am normaly in a size 10. I had forgot when I placed my Avon order that I got some Curves fit flops. I was happy to have them and they seem like they work. They are size 10 and fit perfectly. Guess what, It is supposed to warm up big time by Wednesday!!! So happy that your Son and DIL came and honered you yesterday. Hugs.

Kayley: Hugs to you. You are doing so well and just try your best at the weight. Don't put too much pressure on yourself though hun. So happy to see you back.

Carol: Glad that you had a good day yesterday. You sure deserve it! I played in the dirt too. lol.

Julia: Huge Hugs to you. Maybe you both could go to counseling as well as your DH doing some on his own. So sorry that your day yesterday was a bad one. Hugs, Hugs, Hugs.

Catherine: I was laughing at your post about your toes. You could have been describing me! Well, except for the naroow feet. My toes are so long and my big toe is shorter then the rest too. My DH claims I can probably climb a tree with my toes as I can write with them and snap them too. lol. I can also Pinch like you wouldn't believe. lol. I'd be interested in seeing how far you can throw a frozen hot dog too. Just don't hit anyone with it. lol.

Debimitch: Glad that you had such a great Mother's Day!

Zelma: Hope your arm continues to heal well.

I miss you Ane, Nancy, Donna, Brandnewme, Sharon, Sandybar, Val, Ammi, All you ladies that are MIA! If you are lurking I miss you all.

I ended up not going to the movies. On Saturday we went to Costco just for gas in my DH truck then went to lunch. After lunch we went to Cold Creamery and I had some "Sinless" ice cream. Got home and got extremely ill from it. I spent some time sleeping on the hammock while DH finished our garden boxes. Yesterday we went to church then for a short ride. Again went out to lunch but I was more careful and didn't eat much of anything. We came and got our dogs intending on taking them with us to play tennis. We bought some tennis rackets at a yard sale a few weeks ago and thought we would give it a try. I went into Walmart to get some tennis balls while DH stayed with Dogs in truck. When I got out of Walmart it was storming so bad so we decided to take the dogs for a run in a field near our house. We drove over there and saw a tractor moving dirt around. DH asked him how much he would charge for dirt for our garden boxes. He said $6.00 for a truck load. Since we had the truck, we loaded it right then and came home and filled in the garden boxes. I am so excited and can't wait until this next weekend. WE are going to plant our garden!

Well, I need to get moving now. It is about 8:30 and I am still in jammies. Need to go to Curves today and to the gym.

Blessings all,
Annie

kayleystar 05-12-2008 12:39 PM

Annie – Thanks so much. It’s hard not to stress out about it, since the dress doesn’t fit, but I’m trying to take it day-by-day, and just work my hardest to shed as many inches/pounds as possible before the beginning of July, when I’ll need to take the dress in to be altered. And WOW!! Since I’ve been on here, you’ve lost so much!!! You are truly amazing!

Zelma – I have definitely missed you! So good to see you still posting here, as you’ve been such an inspiration to me along the way (and back…lol); I’m hoping to talk to a seamstress this week, to see if something will be able to be done with the dress. I won’t be taking it in until July, so HOPEFULLY I can lose 6 more inches by then, so it won’t be SUCH an undertaking for the seamstress! As hard as it may be, I promise pictures. Lol.

Just checking in between my morning & afternoon routes. I had a mid-day, so not much time in between them as usual. (I work at a private transportation company; We transport children with disabilities mostly, but I transport teenagers with….behavioral problems, I’ll call it! Lol. They are mostly all on probation, etc;) So, I take them to school each morning (I drive a van), and then home in the afternoon, but I volunteer for field trips throughout the week as well. We’re going to the Zoo on Wednesday. Heh.
Have a GREAT day everyone!

dgramie 05-12-2008 12:58 PM

kayley- do you have a minitrampoline?? I know when i use mine daily the inches just fall off. I should be using it right now!! It really does work great and it give me an all over workout. Good luck...and glad to have you here!!
Julia_ hugs my friend!!!
annie_ sorry eating made you sick...........i know i was miserable yesterday after eating...Its just not worth it!!
catherine_ i have short stubby feet...my oldest daughter has long toes and she has broke everyone at some point in time and a few of them many times . My youngest has my feet and she calls them flintstone feet.LOL
'

CatherineM 05-12-2008 01:07 PM

debi-I have broken a few toes in my time too, including once when kicking a very naughty scale across the room

Annie-What's the fun of throwing them, if I can't hit them. It's my version of rolling drunks. They are just very large, very cold darts. Could be a new Olympic sport. We're going to have the winter Olympics in two years, so it could be a natural. Makes more sense than curling.

Debbie54 05-12-2008 01:17 PM

Bernice, you got that sooooooo right! It is just alot of clay. We went and got some really good dirt. It's Mushroom dirt! The trenches only did so much so I'm trying to figure out what to do still.
YaY on being so darn close to 40 pounds!!
Have a good day at work!

Debi, it sounds like you had a really lovely Mother's Day. And how nice that all your kid were there to celebrate with you. You got somre really nice gifts too. I had the same big meal pretty much as you, and also have a gain......and felt lousy after it. When will we ever learn? The only thing I think I did well on was portion control, but I still went over my calories.

Catherine, I hear ya on other toes sticking out longer than the big toe. It runs in my family. I'm in a size 11 also. I feel your pain.

Annie, what a nice day you had! You gotta take pics of the garden and the boxes when you get them done. Have fun at Curves and the gym.

Gonna get back to doing DDR. Seems it's the only exercise I really enjoy and it does work the whole body. I put it on the exercise part of it and it keeps track of the minutes that I'm actually moving. I speed thru the part where it tells you how well I did so I don't stop for that long of a time in between songs. That's how I got into exercising last time, so I guess stick with what works. I hope when I go to work, I can join this gym that is close to Walmart. Should hear something on that today.
toodles
Debbie

worthapenny 05-12-2008 01:48 PM

Hello All!
It's been a couple of days since I have been on here. Well weekend went long. We were supposed to have dance pics taken so I hurried off work and listened to the daughter not want to get her hair fixed. That was a joy!!! Then drive 1/2 to town to find out that two of the costumes didn't come in so they weren't going to take any of the pics. She is to be in 4 events! So a friend called and said if I come over she wanted to make lunch for me as she was hungry for some things her mom used to make. Her mom passed away suddenly about 6 months ago, and this girl used to date my son so we have always been friends. I told her I would come over as I was not in a happy mood. But since she has a son that is 2, my daughter could play with him and I would love to spend the day. She was so thoughtful she even got me a mother's day gift and card! So the day went well. Then Hubby asked what I wanted for Mother's day, and I said don't buy me anything I just wanted him to dote on me all day! Well, He gave me my gift on Saturday as he couldn't wait. It was a digital photo frame that holds 2000 pics. He thought Sunday would be too hectic a day and wanted me to enjoy it. So I loaded several pics on it Sat. evening. Sunday oldest son and girlfriend were supposed to come up and spend the day. Well Sunday came and we took the new dog to Obedience Training Class! I told the girls they were going too! One was excited the other one wasn't. That was enjoyable but after we got there they were better. Then the oldest son couldn't come because he was feeling ill and girlfriend had to work at 5. So I was glad that I hadn't cooked like I was going too. Army son called and so did his girlfriend. That was nice. Then home and hubby sat down to his computer most of the day and the girls and I played a game and yaked.

Julia -I did not get what I wanted from hubby either, but I will enjoy the frame! He has his moments when I get frustrated at him, but they pass. He travels with his work when not at home, so I try and make the most of the time he is home. I didn't fuss for not getting the doting, even though I really could have. But I just wanted you to know we all know your frustration and are here for you!

Bernice- what a handsome son you have!! Have a wonderful visit with him as I know you will. I miss mine but we talk on the phone often! He wants me to bring his car to Texas for him! I might just do that, I know I need a vacation.
Well, lost .2 lbs this week, but that is a loss!!! I thought I had gained. I am going to try really hard to do more next week.

Realist- I was going to suggest getting men's size. I ordered size 11 and if they don't fit me then maybe daughter. I wear a size 10-11 shoe depending on the style.

Busy week this week. I am going to find the house this week and busy about every evening. Mon-daughter dance, Tues-daughter tumbling & other daughter school concert, Wed-OPEN right now so I won't tell anyone, Thurs-dance rehearsal, Fri-dress rehearsal, Sat-Recital & bake graduation cake for friend, Sun-Graduation! I am gonig to try and hit the Y every night that I am in town, which will be all but Wed. Good luck to me! I have gotta get back on water too, didn't do good last week drinking it! Penny

JuleeCeeS 05-12-2008 02:53 PM

Wow....so much has ben going on.

First..for all of you Moms....I want to wish you a Happy Mother's Day, albeit a day late. I am always impressed at how much you do for those in your life...I appreciate you.,...even if we haven't met yet.

Annie...the ColdStone "sinless" is SO NOT WORTH IT. I find it vile. DH likes it with blueberries. I think it's junk and it also tears up my stomach. I tried the sinless lemon ice once with strawberries and I almost heaved from the nasty fake sugar aftertaste.

WELL...MIL was truly on her best behavior yesterday...and it wasn't fake. The 4 of us had a lovely breakfast and it made me happy to see her eat what she wanted and not gripe about "her plan" the whole time. She does HOW and sometimes she is too neurotic for me to handle. Then she and I went to a lovely arts festival that happens every year on Mothers' Day at a local park. When we got there it was still foggy and chilly but within an hour it had burned off. We looked at a lot of lovely things...all manner of arts and crafts and some great jewelry. She bought ME a gorgeous goldstone bracelet which was a surprise (making up for my birthday maybe?? her way of apologizing??) and then I called DH and told her I really wanted to get her a neacklace she had gone back to look at 3 times. He said it was a good idea so we split the cost. So on the way out, she asked me to not take her by that vendor again because she wasn't going to be able to hold back from buying it...so I sped up a little bit and had it paid for before she caught up to me. She was really touched and it made for a great day. The weather was beautiful and we spent some time just sitting and watching people and dogs and soaking up the sunshine and fresh air.

I'm back to work today....same old stuff. I actually went out and bought a bathing suit the other day....ugh. But I need one for the summer....so it is what it is.

Catherine...I am impressed by the snapping your toes thing...kinda freaky...as I have a few issues with feet (and clowns...i'm nuts I know) but wow.

Too many late nights this week...and it's supposed to get up 99 by the end of the week. Nooooooo.

TheWalrus 05-12-2008 04:59 PM

It's been a long few days, but I'm back...not in great spirits, but here. A combination of unhealthy food choices and some hormonal issues mean that I'm swollen all over today -- not just my leg! In fact, for the first time ever, I think my rings are cutting off circulation to my finger a little bit -- yikes! Do any of you have experience with this or have any ideas for how to fix it??? It was WI today, and although I went up a little bit, it wouldn't be enough to make my rings not fit like this...

So it's been a hard time -- I'm finally done with all my projects -- including one I had to do twice because the file was corrupted. But it's now rainy and rainy and rainy, and I'm going to not get any exercise today...phooey.

Ok, let's find some good here. I did get to walk this weekend for a VERY brief time at our friends' house, and although, having been immobilized for three looooong months, I was out of breath at the end, I was able to climb a nice little hill two or three times -- up AND down! Without the cane! Yay.

We leave a week from Thursday. I have given up on losing even 9 pounds but am hoping and trying to lose enough to be under 300 pounds. Argh!!! I have three more PT sessions and one more yoga session before we leave, too, so I'm also REALLY hoping for some increased flexibility and decreased soreness. We'll see.

Sorry for the lack of personals -- I did read all your posts :)

DMPLS 05-12-2008 05:36 PM

well I went to curves today after school....I liked it!

I like the switches between the walk pads and machines....however a few of the machines I feel ackward getting in and out of....I guess once I get use to it there wont be a problem. The women there were all very nice....they all seemed to know one another, I guess they all go at the same time of day so they get to know eachother like that. I went today and guess I could try to go tomorrow but I think we are trying to leave as soon as I get out of work......so I wont be able to go again till Sat & Sun...heck I don't even know if they are open on Sundays! LOL She did my body fat and lets just say I'm not too happy with that number....she didn't explain that part of it too much....it showed 43% and then a fat mass of 134.5lbs I asked her if that meant I had 134.5lbs of fat on my body........she said you don't have 134.5lbs to lose so I don't know what that meant! LOL guess it doesn't really matter much since my goal for going is to lose inches and lbs with that will come the fat!

Sorry no personals I have to get started on packing since I am going to work tomorrow I will need to have everything packed tonight! OH BOY what a job!

If you think of us tomorrow night pray for good weather & cheep gas prices!!!! LOL we are on a VERY VERY tight budget on this trip but we want the kids to have fun too!

kayleystar 05-12-2008 07:21 PM

Debimitch – I don’t have a mini trampoline. We have a treadmill here at home, and also a pool. I get my cardio & strength training done at the YMCA. I think I’d be too heavy for a mini trampoline….maybe. lol.

Bernice – I’ve definitely got my fingers crossed for you & your family!!! Have a safe & wonderful trip!

I’m thinking about investing in a system to play Dance Dance Revolution on! I’ve actually never played, but it looks like so much fun, and I think it’d be a great workout. Then I’d have an excuse to buy Guitar Hero & Rock Band, since I’d already have the system…lol!
Has anyone taken a Spinning class? My YMCA is going to start offering it this Summer, and I thought about signing up for the classes; Opinions?
Well, I’ve got some chicken marinating that I need to get onto the grill! I’ll try and pop back in here before bed. Have to work on some more last minute Bridal Shower stuff for this weekend. Don’t think I mentioned that….I’m hosting a Bridal Shower for my best friend, and she lives 3 HOURS away! Lol. But I’m doing all the cooking, etc, since the other Bridesmaids won’t help out. Anyhow, I think it’s going to be fabulous, and I have some last minute things I need to do, since I leave for Lansing on Friday after work.
Catch you all later!

Realist 05-12-2008 08:23 PM

Hi ladies,

I made it under 350....woohoo. It's been well over a year that I have here, more likely like two years. I am happy about it. I have worked diligently at hitting 2000 calories, and yet not exceeding it. And it's paying off. TOM will be here next week, so I need to ride the wave. LOL.

Walrus - thank you so much for starting the Biggest Loser. I seem to not really want to do poorly when people see my numbers. So thank you!!

Kayley - how did you lose so much in one week? I wanna do that too!!!!

Julee and Annie - I hate the gumminess of Coldstone. Just not a fan.

Catherine - I have long narrow feet (and fingers). My friends used to joke that my fingers were Arsenio Hall-like (for any of you who remember his fingers). Also, I got in BIG trouble years ago at a very formal meeting. My friend was sitting next to me, writing on a napkin. When I looked at it, it was a picture of me with SUPER LONG fingers and an eye patch. Side note - I am legally blind in one eye due to a beating I took from one of my brothers. Needless to say, the picture was hilarious, and I laughed, and was dismissed from the meeting. Oops.

Debbie - I think I may go back to DDR as well. We bought a WII a few weeks ago, so I need to get it for that system. But it was fun, and I had no issue making myself do that.

Running out of time, so "hi" all.

Take care and be well,
Angie

gggirls 05-12-2008 09:36 PM

This has been one busy place today.

Julee - glad MIL redeemed herself, so to speak, with you. Sounds like you had a lovely day. Nice touch to get the necklace.

Angie - CONGRATS to you. You are doing fantastic - I'm so proud of you.

Debi - what did the doc say about the rash? Have you noticed a difference in the new med yet?

Annie - I miss them all too - and Battle and Johnnie and Rainbowsmiles and Peggy and Lindsey and and and and and. Hope you all are lurking and doing well.

Kayley - WTG to you too! It's great to see you posting.

Bernice - travel safe - where is it he is at boot camp that you will be traveling to?

Debbie - any word on the job yet? Have you had any luck with the water problem yet? I usually have a problem getting them wet enough. Never happy are we.

Julia - was today better? I'm so sorry you had a tough day yesterday. Any chance he will agree to counseling?

Hugs to all,
Carol

Realist 05-12-2008 09:51 PM

Carol - Thanks for being proud of me. Strangely, I am a little proud of me too. That's sadly a rare event. When I look at my weight, not proud. When I look at what's been lost, a little more proud.

gggirls 05-12-2008 10:03 PM

Angie - I hear ya - when I look at my achievement I am proud - when I look at being there - not proud. Just have to think about the success in the changes we're making. Tonight a friend came and tried on a bunch of the clothes that are too big - she said to me - you don't see happy - I had to tell her it scares me to get rid of them - it's so final. Yes - it is final - I'm not going back.

JuliaDH 05-12-2008 10:55 PM

Feeling somewhat more balanced today after a horrid weekend. "Man" agrees to councelling. But I will believe it when I see it. So now on the search for one who has Sat appts. since truckers have not consistant schedule. He will be home some time around 1:30 am and I am unsure what to expect? Is he feeling bad for what he said and did and wants to suck up or is he going to give me a sincere appology? He is getting to be more unpredictable as time goes on. He is frustrated and angry about everything and does not take any responsibility for why, how, or any aspect. It is always everyone else "doing it to him". And try to tell him that he has a choice in how he responds or feels is like smashing my head against a wall. I am actually following my own advise now...my response was always to over eat during drama. Now I choose not to since I dont want to be 300+ lbs, and all the consequences of the weight. I am choosing to not get sucked in. I even got dressed and made up like Flylady said to do. 1/2 the sink shines. Other have has drying items. LOL. Anyways ladies the point is we do have a choice on how we respond. It can be a positive response that is healthy for us or it can be a negitive response that is detrimental to our health. Mental & physical. My kids need me to be the healthiest I can be especially when dad has issues to deal with of his own that just tear at all of us.

Thanks for letting me rant ladies. I truly appreicate it. I have one girlfriend I usually confide in but as many of you know I am her matron of honour in October and I really can not burden her with this now...especially when the evil little voice inside wants to scream out to her run run fast away from this wedding...marriage is toooo hard! But I can keep that little bit of urge suppressed!

Debbie54 05-12-2008 11:17 PM

Bernice, have fun and have a safe trip. It's so great that you get to see your son again!!

Angie, YAY for getting under 350!!! The DDR is the only way I get exercise in. The treadmill and WATP dvds just seem to be too boring for me. I keep looking at the clock to see how much longer I have when I do those. The DDR, I just dance and dance and the time flies by.

Carol, it didn't rain so the standing water as gone way down. I plan on getting out there tomorrow to see what else can be done and get those poor plants in the ground. They're not looking too well.

Julia, I really hope he goes and gets the help that he needs to deal with things and be responsible for his actions. He has to know that he hurt you. My ex would always say and do mean things and then try and say he was sorry when the damage was already done. We can forgive, but it's so much harder to forget. Hopefully things will work out for the both of you. I'll be saying a little prayer for you and your family.

Well, I got the call. I go for orientation on Wednesday on my new career. It should be fun though. I'm sorta looking forward to it but still freak out about the food end of it. What if I get hungry before my break? Am I going to get to drink my water? How will I get exercise in? It's been hard getting that in even when I don't work, how's it going to be when I'm tired? So much to think about but I guess just take one day at a time.
toodles
Debbie

Kayley: doing the best you can is all anyone can ask of you including yourself! Have fun at the bridal shower.

Debimitch: Yep, hopefully I won't be tempted to try that ice cream again. lol.

Catherine: Okay, if you get it as an offial Winter sport, I'll root for you!

Debbie: Have fun with DDR. I really want one so I can be like you guys. lol.

Penny: Sounds like you had a very busy but nice weekend. I will keep my fingers crossed that you get to the Y each night.

Julee: LOL. I ate exactly what your DH likes there. blueberries. ICky now. lol. So glad that your MIL was much better. Hugs.

Walrus: When I get swollen I try to up my liquids. Seems to make me Go potty a lot therefore getting rid of the extra water. Hope it works for you. So, Thursday is when you go to Scotland? Wow!

Bernice: I'm glad that you liked Curves. The machines get less awkward to get in and out of as you practice. I don't think they are open on Sunday. At least the ones here are not. I will pray for Traveling Mercies for you and your family and a whole lot of FUN!

Angie: Woo hoo! So happy for you being under 350 Such a super accomplishment. Way to go.

Julia: Hugs. I will be praying for your family.

Well, I did 90 minutes today of exercise and was ready to do some more but ate lunch and.... got sick again. I think I have a touch of the flu or something. I was running a fever this morning but thought It was just ??? DH has a physical tomorrow morning with a new Dr. He said his tummy has been bugging him. He also has Plantars faciates (SP) and will talk to new Dr. about that and a..... Visectomy! So, it should be a very eventful appointment. lol. It has been years and years since DH has had complete physical and it is definately time.

Hope you are all doing well.
Blessings,
Annie

princesspuffypants 05-13-2008 01:57 AM

spinning can burn right in ****. if you dont want to walk for 4 days after, go ahead. if youre gonna do it anyway, get padded shorts. you will thank me when you dont cry when you go to the bathroom.

kayleystar 05-13-2008 06:40 AM

Angie – How did I lose so much in one week? I was shocked, too, when I weighed myself, and re-weighed about 10 times! Lol. I’m chalking it up to the fact that I go to the gym 5 times a week, and re-started low-carbing it, and it was that big loss at the beginning of starting Atkins/South Beach; exercise probably boosted it more.
Congrats for getting under 350!! Onto the next milestone!

Debbie – I wish you luck with the orientation! What kind of new career are you starting?

Annie – The flu is going around here, and I have it (very slightly); it’s the crazy changing of the weather we’re still having here in Michigan. Hope you feel better SOON! And 90 mins is awesome!

Luan – Ahahahaha….maybe I’ll wait on the Spinning class then. I like being able to walk. ;)

Well, I’m off to work; since I don’t have any field trips in the middle, I’m going to the gym during my break instead of before work. Picked up a nice big book at the library yesterday, so hopefully the cardio will go by a little faster. ;)

Have a GREAT and OP day all!

dgramie 05-13-2008 09:28 AM

Im having a really bad day. My sisterinlaw called me last night and started out by letting me know she has been reading my posting here and i didnt tell her i was coming here. Then she said she was reading my private messages. I guess she figured out my password. She is the type to be evil with what she has read. I have not said anything wrong or bad but i feel violated knowing she would get into my private messages.I have emailed suzanne about changing my username and password.I am hurt and upset. This is my hubby sister.
I dont know what i would do without my friends here!! Yall all mean so much to me!!!!!!!
debi

worthapenny 05-13-2008 09:29 AM

Good Morning!
It is very cold and windy here this morning. I am getting ready to vacuum as the teenager is bringing a boy "friend" home after school to hang out and watch TV. I have been instructed that he is just a friend and that I am to have her little sister OUT of the house! She is soooooooooo funny!! I'm thinking about making sure she is home to chaperone as I have a dentist appt! Mean of me right! HA! HA! I have to clean off the coffee table as it has alot of kids papers on it and mail. I didn't get to the Y last night as after dance we had softball practice. Boohoo! So I am going to walk the dog today. Gas is getting rediculous! I love flylady cleaning by the way. Thanks Carol!
Bernice- have a great time with son! Have a safe trip as we all want to hear about it on your return.
Debbie- Congrats on new job. How is it going? I too am reluctant about giving clothes away even though I am NOT getting back in to them!
Walrus- Still swollen today? Did you have to cut the rings off?
Julia-Stay Positive! It will get better.
Kayley-Have you got the last minute bridal shower things done! There is always something to do! Have fun and enjoy it.
Bernice-Curves! Yeah good for you. I keep telling myself to go as I have been once. I liked it. But with the Y membership I am not sure I can afford both. I should just do it, still thinking as I am off work now.
Julee-I hope the MIL continues to get along with you! It sounds like a nice day.
Catherine-Yea snapping the toes, I have never heard of. Any news on the book arriving yet?
Well better get moving!
Debimitch-SIL sounds evil. I hope you get things changed. I would feel a little violated too with the personal messages. How dare she even try and figure out your password. I think it is a good idea to change it. Make is something from when you were a kid that only you know! Or something weird from your crazy teenage years!!!

azcyn 05-13-2008 10:06 AM

Kayley:Glad to see you back posting girlie!!

Realist:WTG to be below 350!!!!

Juliahood: ((((HUGS))))) my dear...right now you seem like you really need one!

As for me: Well we went to the Y again last night. I am really starting to like it. :) Over the weekend I had another "food allergy" attack. It was on sat night after I ate Dominos pizza. Funny thing is hubby had the same reaction and he has NEVER had a food allergy in his life. My sons friends work there and they said that they heard they changed something in the sauce. Go figure. So no more Dominos for us. My mother's day was quiet. I scrapbooked most of the day. While my brother so kindly took my kids to the movies. it was nice.

Hope everyone has a great day.

BattleAx 05-13-2008 10:50 AM

Hi chickies,

Just a quickie to say hi and props to the losers, hugs to the strugglers.

Have a great OP day.

CatherineM 05-13-2008 10:51 AM

Debi-so sorry your sister in law felt the need to commit a cyber-rape. I hope she reads this because if I ever get to meet her, we can a have a nice long chat about legal boundaries. I like long chats. I especially used to like long chats with witnesses on the stand. I’ve suffered an identity theft at the hand of a family member, and remember how violated I felt. If I had to do over again, I’d now prosecute.

Worthapenny-They are still saying Thursday. The delay had something to do with the UPC bar code.

Julia-When marriage goes right, there is nothing to compare it to. When it goes bad, it stabs us to the core. You are right. The best present you can give your kids is a healthy, happy mom.

Bernice-Tell your son at Ft. Sill to avoid the wildlife refugee next door to the base when the elk are in rutting season. I got a little close once, and escaped by sliding down a ledge covered in cactus. That was an interesting trip to the ER.

Debbie-You’re going to do just fine. Being in the public eye can keep us on the straight and narrow. The boost to your self esteem can’t hurt either. As to water, you can always get a small hydration bag like marathon runners use, and wear it under your shirt. Attach the drinking tube to your bra strap (if you wear one of those torture devices). You could be like James Bond.

Annie-I’m ready to go. I’ve already got my red shirt on. Our team colors are green and yellow, but coke’s is red, and they own the concession stand, or the right to uniform us anyway. Red shirt, black pants, and a coca cola hat. Got to love a woman in uniform right. We made $18,000 last summer for the church. That’s a lot in an inner city church on the main prostitute drag.

Carol-Getting rid of fat clothes is hard. Imagine how hard it was for me to give my wheelchair to charity. The butterfly has to get rid of the cocoon.

Realist-I have 5 older brothers, so my dad taught me how to box at the age of 6 just to keep up. I never got as bad a beating as you did.

Julia-Everyone says my stuff is funny, but I just don’t see it. Although I do enjoy a good joke. I purposely put two small inconsistencies in the print in my book as a practical joke. It will be interesting to see how many people notice it. Most will think it is simply a typo, not on purpose.

Gaia-I have gotten myself into trouble over the years because of my fingers and toes. They are always getting stuck in places that other people would never think of putting their digits. There was an incident in kindergarten where my parents had to be called.

Annie-I can think of a lot of possible winter sports now. The falling icicle slalom, push the grocery cart through a foot of snow in the parking lot, or how about the ice slip and fall with points for most graceful. Hey they give points for style in diving.

I’m kicking back today to rest for the first game of the season. I wonder if Beckham or his spice girl will come down to buy one of my excellent hotdogs. I kind of doubt it, but I’ll be ready if they do.

dgramie 05-13-2008 10:53 AM

Well I have decided she is still going to be able to track my posting on here. I can truly say i have never had a stalker before!! LOL
I am not going to let her ruin the progress i am making!! She would love nothing more than for me not to post here!! So i am still going to post and message people.Ihave changed my password and things so she cant get into my messages. I think she wants to see me fail at losing weight!! NOt sure why but I am not going to let her stop me!!!
sorry to rant!!!!!!!!!!! I feel so hurt by it and MAD!!!
Hubby said not to worry about it...its not like im having an online affair or something. SHE must be really bored to read all my postings and messages!!

worthapenny 05-13-2008 11:29 AM

dgramie-good for you! Keep Posting! We love your posts! Maybe she will learn something from all of us here. I consider all of you family here.
azcyn-sounds like a good mother's day. Your brother was nice to take the kids for a couple hours and give you a break.
Annie-hope you are feeling better today! Keep exercising, you are doing great!

Cleaning off table now. I think my daughter must be saving EVERY paper from school. Dog and cat spatting better go.

dgramie 05-13-2008 11:48 AM

I am a nervous wreck over this mess!! I would love to go and eat!!! BUT I wont!! Like i dont have enough going on in my life without this mess!!! I finally told hubby about it and he got mad!! He has gone to take his mom to visit his sick aunt and he siad he might go see his sister! I told him to stay away from her!! I really dont trust her!! She use to be heavy and now is super thin........it was said that she was on drugs but we dont know for sure. I want to look healthy not sickly!!
penny- thank you for your support!!
catherine_ I may have to turn you loose on her!! I am not a fighter!! I get upset and cry to easily!

Ratkitten 05-13-2008 12:31 PM

Greetings my Peeps!

I am making a recommittment today to drop refined sugars from my diet. They have gotten way out of control (as if "they" are an entity conspiring against me... or arrrrrre they? hehe). I got to ride my bicycle into work. The bike seat was a wee more saturated from all the rain than I expected.. oops! Good thing my all day training was done sitting down.

Catherine, your long, agile toes are too funny. I have short sausage toes. I CAN pinch with them, however. I think my sisters might remember the bruises they could make. I like your frozen hotdog dart competition for the new olympics! hehe. What a visual!!! You get extra points if you can ping one off an unsuspecting drunk to hit your intended target .. hehe.

Kayley, have fun getting DDR! I heard the Wii uses arms too and can be a lot of fun. The PS2 is cheap, but I don't think guitar hero works well on it or if rock band works on it. I'm not too happy with my xbox360 (even though it plays all of those), because if you accidently knock it, you scratch your disk into uselessness. All is not lost, however.. you can take scratched disk to a GameStop or similar place and they have professional buffing machines that can repair the disk (most of the time). Spinning.. well, I ride a bicycle at a fairly good clip, have padded shorts and it STILL killed me. It was a def a good workout, but stressed the foot that I had a surgery on last year way more than regular cycling. Since I love my bike, I'm not going to cause more injury by doing Spinning class. Now, saying that, my 75 yr old mom does Spin Class every Friday at 5am and loves it. Go figure. I say, try it out, set your own pace. See how it goes (and get padded shorts!).

dgramie, hang in there. Hugs to you for having to deal with yet another obstacle in your journey. Don't let it derail you!!

Cyn, great for going to the gym!!!

Hugs and love to all the strugglers and lurkers! You know who you are :)

Luv,
Rat

dgramie 05-13-2008 12:41 PM

not to sound dumb but what is spinning???

Debbie54 05-13-2008 12:50 PM

Annie, how are you feelin' today? I hope better and it's not some kind of flu or something.
Thanks for the encouraging words too!

Kayley, it's a cashier job at Walmart. I know, not very glamorous but it's a start for me after not working for over 12 years. I think I'll like it though. It's something I've never done.

Debi, why in the world would she make that her business? Did you confront her with it? Man, that's just awful. Don't let it upset you too much though, okay? I think your sil needs to get a life! (Yeah, I said it. What are you gonna do about it sil????)

Penny, Yeah, leave the little sister there!! I'm sure your other daughter would be morified!

Catherine, you just crack me up! Thanks for that.

Ratkity, do you have one of those skinny little seats on your bike? I'm going for the large wide load one. I think if I got the skinny one, my butt would envelope it and people would think I'm just sitting on the pole the seat attaches to.

I called on Marilyn yesterday, (remember my dog I gave to the no kill shelter) and she's been adopted!!!!! I was so happy for her. She's someplace in the same town as I live in, I just hope she doesn't figure her way back here. I still miss her alot. Last Saturday we were out looking for plants and going to different people's houses that had plant sales, and we ended up going down the road that the shelter was on, and I wanted to go in and see her but Jim just told me it would make it even harder....so of course I ended up crying, but now I'm just so doggone happy for her. I hope she gets lots of love.
It's raining here today so won't be planting anything today. We are suppose to get up to 84 this week. That will be a shock. I'm glad I'll be basking in the air conditioning at Walmart.
Have a great day!
Debbie

JuliaDH 05-13-2008 01:13 PM

Debi - was also thinking that invasion of privacy is cruel and you do have a right to be upset. But take it and make some good of it. Keep the emotions and energy and do something positive with it. I am learning that right now. nudge and wink! That power/energy today ended up cleaning the boys room and washing the boogers of the wall and clearing out some of the toys. But dont give her the power. Then she will exploit your raw feelings. Just like when I give my "not so DH" to much power to control how I feel. And the bad eating choices I make when I allow him to make me feel rotten and unworthy. You are an amazing woman and I am blessed to get to know you and call you friend. What is that saying about being able to pick your friends but not your family? Anyone know?

kayleystar 05-13-2008 01:41 PM

Dgramie – Oh my goodness, what an invasion of privacy! I’m so sorry hun. *hugs*

Worthapenny – (sorry, don’t know your name yet!!) I’ve gotten nearly everything finished. I have to print up some last minute things, and get everything packed up, and Thursday I’ll be cooking all the food, etc, and picking up the cake. Lol @ the “boy” friend. Hope all goes well, and she isn’t embaressed too much! Oh, I remember being like 15, and yelling at my mom….”He’s JUST A FRIEND!!!!” lol!

Cyn – It’s good to BE back. I truly have missed you all, and the support on this forum. Ooooh, I love Domino’s!! At least having a food allergy to it could be considered a blessing! No temptation! ;) I go to the Y as well. I love it there.

Catherine – I will be super jealous if you meet Victoria Beckam! She was my favorite Spice Girl when I was younger. :)

Ratkitten – My friend has a PS2 & Guitar Hero + Rock Band. Maybe I’ll do that. I’m sure it’d be a lot cheaper! The only other incentive to buying the 360 is that my fiance has one, too, and I could borrow his games. (we don’t live together anymore….too expensive right now! Lol) Thanks for the advice on the Spinning class. I think I might just skip it. ;)

Debbie – I used to be a cashier at Walmart. Definitely not glamorous, but you know, I really enjoyed it. I’m a very big (no pun intended) people person, and I love to talk! Lol. And I’m weird, and just liked to see what people bought. Working there is actually how I met my fiance. He worked there as well. :) Hope you like it!!

I’m feeling pretty good about myself today. I went to Walmart, and got a scale (finally!). Goes up to 400 lbs, so I definitely know that it’ll work for me. Lol. I also picked up some new fun jewelry on clearance, and some great sunglasses. And I’m wearing makeup for ONCE. Heh. Just feeling pretty today, which is rare for me.
Got a good workout in at the gym today. 45 mins strength training and 25 mins cardio;

Well, I must get back to work. My afternoon shift starts in about 35 mins, but I wanted to pop on here before I got too far behind! I’ll be back tonight.

dgramie 05-13-2008 01:42 PM

julia-I know there is one about if people were flowers then i would pick you!

I am still in shock that she was able to break into my account.she does know alot of family history for me and said she tried several things before she got it right. She actually thinks its funny!
well the boys are ready to go outside and play
