Anne: I used to walk around my back yard. I used to think that my dogs probably think I'm nuts because I would do it for about 20 minutes with them walking right beside me all the way. lol. I have a huge back yard and the dogs already have small trails around the fence line so it was easy. Whatever works best for you!

Penny: I have heard so much about PB2. I think I will have to look it up on line and see where I can get some. Thanks for sharing it with us. I love the picture on your avatar. You look so pretty and your little girl is a doll. How did it go taking the dog to school? I hope fun.

debi: How exciting about your new grand baby. I bet you can't wait.

Debbie: I'm so happy that your work is going well and I just want you to know how proud I am of you for not tasting the banana splits! Great job. Thanks for the blanket offer. lol.

Kayley: Have a great time with your friends. I'm sure the party will be a success!

Catherine: I think most of us don't like the attention that compliments bring. We are so used to being in the background of things, the one taking the picture ect. You deserve some respect and compliements my friend. Hugs. Hope your deliveries finally get to you.

Rat: I am so proud of you. I think once you break some bad habbits that have been creeping up after 3 days it should be much easier and it also proves to your mind that you are in charge and not your body. Hugs and way to go.

Cyn: hope you can make it to the YMCA tonight.

Julee: I love farmer's markets. Sounds like you scored!

Carol: Glad you are back home safe and sound. Congrats to all the plants you got for such a great price. Have fun planting them.

Julia: Happy, Happy, Happy Birthday!!! Hugs.

Bernice: Glad you are enjoying your trip. Safe return to you and your family.

Emily: Hi sweetie. Congrats on the compliments from your DAD!

WEll, I have been on line for about an hour now answering emails then coming here. I am heading to Curves then to a few stores and aslo need to go pick up an application for another job. Praying someone will call me soon besides my former employer wanting me to come back. lol.

I updated my ticker. I lost the 5 extra pounds that were showing up on my ticker plus 4 more. I'm sure that 5 was water weight. I have been exercising a lot and hopfully my weight will continue to drop. I sooo want to be in the 240's before seeing my surgeon on the 29th. If not, no big deal but I do hope to get there. Sounds like a tall order though. I'll just keep working as hard as I can and staying op and hopefully I can get close.

Joel and I are renting a carpet cleaner tomorrow morning. The carpet in our bedroom is icky fithly where our dogs lay. I am going to give them a bath today if it is warm enough outside to do it. It is supposed to be in the 80's. I am going to wash their beds and get everything ready for the carpet to be cleaned tomorrow morning. Hopefully we will have time to plant our garden tomorrow but if not then we can do it Sunday after church.

Move your bodies, drink your water and stay op.
Blessings all,
Annie

Good evening all,

I really enjoyed my lifting today, but ouch. I also found out that I have really bad balance. Well, okay, I kind of already knew that. I also managed to do all my walking outside, which was nice. It was supposed to rain, but it looks like it's pushed off until tomorrow. The one thing the walking convinced me was that I need to break down and buy the new shoes, like tomorrow if possible. I had pretty much decided to get them next week, but I could feel it in my heels today when walking (that I wasn't getting enough support).

Debbie - the cat's getting worse. He spent time today trying to get in my way. I suppose just to see if I'd step over him (which of course I did). Sounds like your training is going well. Looking forward to dealing with the public soon? :)

Carol - I found the salsa recipe today when looking for something else, so I posted it in the recipe section. Oh, and congrats on the faster 5K time. And not just a slight improvement, but a big one.

Bernice - glad you're enjoying your visit. Looking forward to seeing the pictures when you get back.

Kayleystar - too late to say it, but hope you have a great weekend.

Ratkitten - I do think the reason I can go faster is the fact that it's a flat surface. I also think I probably walk faster in some spots, and slower in other. So that's probably why I can't keep up the steady pace that I can on the TM. I think it's a good thing to not label foods good or bad. In the end it's about making healthier choices, within limits. I still think it's a good idea to eventually work in favourite foods (even if it's just lighter versions of them).

EmilyWay -

Annie - I was hoping that I'd missed a wonderful job offer. Keep the faith though, something wonderful will come along.

Julia - congrats. I struggled last week with what was obviously water weight, but it's still annoying.

Well, I think perhaps that's me for the night. I finally coloured my hair tonight. I suspect my hair won't be dry before bedtime so I'll try and get some pictures taken tomorrow. Well, unless I can't sleep in which case I'll take them later tonight. Tomorrow morning I'm going grocery shopping, doing the Costco run, and then going to get some new runners.

Goodnight all, and hope you're all having a great weekend. It's a holiday weekend here, and I might be going to one of the neighbours' places Sunday for a meal and fireworks. I'm good with the fireworks, but really apprehensive about the meal. :)

kayleystar 05-16-2008 11:26 PM

Thank you to everyone for wishing me luck with the shower tomorrow. I hope it all goes off without a hitch!

I brought my laptop, so I could work on some projects for school, and I lucked out, and am piggy-backing on someone’s wireless connection, so I could pop online for a bit. ;)

I’m watching my carbs, but I try and make sure I eat enough calories during the day, and I definitely didn’t do that today. I only ended up with about 800 calories, simply because I ate at about 10am, and then haven’t been hungry the rest of the day. I had ever intention of making a salad tonight, but I just wasn’t hungry. Bleh.

I’m pretty tired, so I’m going to call it a night! Have to be up semi-early, to go over to the house it’s being hosted at, and get everything set up! Have a great night all!

Anne - your pictures are awesome. I'm so glad you didn't change your mind about posting them. Now - I will repeat what I was told - put on some clothes that fit and take some to post - you look fantastic. Thanks for the vine info - i went to my favorite nursery yesterday and he had never heard of it - I may risk it an buy online which is something I don't like to do with live things - I need to feel them. Enjoy your holiday.

Yesterday I had help in the form of 2 nieces and a sil and we got everything done outside that I had to do - they were great help. I still need to buy a couple of tropical climbers. The pots all look great - and the banana trees are fantastic - can't wait to start to miracle grow them.

I was beat after the outside work and we ended up going to the local restaurant for dinner - we split an order of nachos (not typical nachos - very strange way to do them at this place). At 2 am I was sick - omg - couldn't handle the grease. Grilled chicken is sure sounding good right now.

Debbie - I'm so glad you are liking the job. Did you even have a banana when they were offering banana splits? I always try to find something I can handle. As others have said if there is a suggestion box non-food rewards or healthy choices would be a step in the wellness direction for their employees - also reducing health insurance costs. Oh - it made me all warm and fuzzy to read that Marilyn has a new home.

Annie - I'm thinking of you - seems I've been drug outside and don't get a chance to be here much but yesterday I told my family about you and the impact you've had on me. Thanks chickie.

Kayley - you are one busy girl - but you gotta eat sweetie. 800 calories - hungry or not - will not cut it. It's not good for your body and you will compensate for it later - at least my experience.

Julia - I love your new avatar. You are so pretty. Here's hoping you get to two town with this weigh in.

Rat - you will love this one. I was laying in bed this morning - Gypsy decided to join me - she is such a tail thumper. She's just laying there thumping her tail while I pet her - next thing I know she has turned on the radio - with her tail.

Catherine - did you get to the pool? If you can work the concession that long then they must think you are doing better - hope you get/got there. My trainer needed to cancel this weeks water session - NO WAY - so I am meeting him at 645 am this morning.

Penny - love your avatar too! It's always nice to see a face. How old is your daughter with you there? You are both beaming. Any word on driving to Texas I think it was? Hope you enjoy your weekend. I'm with Annie - I want to know more about the PB2.

OK - time to put a suit on and head to the pool and then more dirt digging. Maybe tomorrow I can just lay by the pool - yesterday the water was on 71 so waaaaaay too cold for me to swim. We have a new solar blanket we will fit tomorrow to get the heat building up for next weekend.

Move your bodies, drink your water and SMILE.

Hugs,
Carol

Good Morning Everyone!

Wow what a busy day yesterday was. Up early went to town after cake mixes for a graduation cake I am to make and had to hit a couple of garage sales! The hubby called and wanted me to check and see if any spaces available to camp. So went and did that. None by the time he would be home to drive the camper and I wasn't going to back it in!!! LOL I had enough to do. Then home to make cake and let cool while I picked up daughter from school at 3:00. She had a field trip and they didn't get back until then. Then rushed to hair appt. as pictures and dress rehearsal for recital by 4:30. Then pics and rehearsal was a zoo! and all costumes finally arrived yesterday afternoon. So no time to make alterations. I hope it looks well in pics as we had to pin one up. So this morning I have to fix the pants. Of course it would be her favorite costume, Elvis pantsuit!! I will post pics when I figure out how. Oldest son and his girlfriend will be coming up for it also. Teen daughter has to work this afternoon and is excited and so much going on this weekend around that she is hoping to make a lot of tips! Then home for the evening and walk. Up in the morning for dog training class then afterwards school graduation and parties to attend. While baking the cake I licked the spatula once and knew immediately what I had done and went for the V8. I grew up with mom making wedding cakes so I have made several myself. So the V8 takes the sweet out of your mouth and the next taste is not too well. It really helps! So decorating it was not bad. I did not taste the frosting! Yeah for me! I just hope I can refrain from eating a piece at the party. May take one bit and I will be alright with that. But WI tomorrow so I maybe won't. Then the next couple of weeks will be calm as not more than a ballgame or two to attend. Can't afford much as the gas$$ are killers. I did get a great steal on a home gym as hubby wasn't too excited in the beginning as we have to drive 4 hours to pick it up. But he is coming around and is very excited now as he has done some research on it. Now I have to move things around to figure out where to put it!!!! We decided to wait until fall to get a treadmill as it is nice outside to walk and ride our bikes. That is about all for me for now. Have a great day and I will catch up on personals later. Penny

dolfingirl2000 05-17-2008 09:11 AM

Hello everyone~~

Just a quick not to say hi and that I'm reading but I can't do personals today. I have to go clean the house. R.I. Home Improvement is coming by at 2:00 to give us an estimate for roofing the house. They came once before and they want almost double what the other companies are giving us for estimates. :o And then we are going out to Bickford's Grille in Seekonk, MA tonight. Yes, that's the place I work every Sunday morning, but tonight we are starting to have a comedian every Saturday night. I bought tickets last week and told my boyfriend that we are going and that's that! Sometimes you just have to lay down the law, know what I mean?

I'm doing okay with my eating and I'm going to walk on my treadmill while the laundry is going. At least that's more than what I've been able to do. Okay, have a great day and I'll try to check in later.

 Vicki

NSV for me!! I shampooed the carpets today and didnt feel like I was going to die.I worked up a good sweat but didnt have any trouble going over it all 3 times. Last fall when I did the carpet I thought I was going to die!! I was sore for a few days. I still have to wash windows when I shut them..and do the curio cabinet. I even washed down the walls and baseboards. Cant wait till the carpet dries to see how it looks. Youngest had spilled rubber cement on it and most of it came out. Still has a spot but not bad.

Ratkitten 05-17-2008 11:48 AM

Hello Peeps!

Wow, we have some busy chickies here this weekend. I hope the beautiful weather that DC burbs are having today extends to everyone!! I did manage 2 hours of lawn duty that included weeding the 2 remaining blueberry bushes and the strawberry plants that lived. Then chased sugar ants out their hidey places in my little sheds. After that, I trimmed my forsythia hedges and picked up the remains. It was all going quite nicely until my 2 goldens (who had been mysteriously quiet through mowing and weeding), came out of the basement with a freshly killed black squirrel. EEEP! They always chase the squirrels here, but are too slow to catch them.. eep eep eep! Good thing they know the command "drop it!". *sigh*

I hope everyone has a great weekend!

Luv,
Ratkitten

Happy Saturday Peeps - hope it is going well for all! I think i found the problem with the tops of my feet hurting - wrong size shoes - duh. My trainer told me about a sports medicine store that was having a big sale - so I happened to be in the neighborhood. It was great - they video tape you walking on the treadmill to see what your issues are and determine the best shoe for you - along with measurements and where you are going to use the shoes. They even still put the shoes on you - haven't had that experience in years. I have always worn 9 1/2 - well my foot measures a 10 1/2 AAAA. I ended up buying a pair of Brooks and a pair a Pearl izumis. It was interesting because she really didn't think it was my shoes - but my socks - I always wear cotton socks that are padded - I may try some wicking socks one of these days.

I had a little bug during the night that messed with my stomach in a big way. I'm trying to hydrate today and may try to eat a little soon. Other than that - off to dig in the dirt - so much for a clean house.

Enjoy the day!

BattleAx 05-17-2008 03:36 PM

Hi chickies,

I haven't been around much this week, and probably will be scarce for a while. I started a new job (I'm scaling my business back to part-time) so I have been very busy. Plus, I don't want to risk trouble for going online at work.

Here's a quick funny, though, in the same theme as Debbie's new job. I am working in the healthcare industry. To commemorate Health Awareness Day, they brought in ice cream from Coldstone Creamery with all the fixings for sundaes. Yes, I had some.

With the new jpb, I had a bad eating week. I just have to work out some new routines for myself. Change is hard for me.

Also, I'll be out on vacation in a few days. I may or may not be back in here before then.

Have a great day, all of you.

CatherineM 05-17-2008 04:35 PM

Carol-I am ready to go back to the pool, I just haven't been able to leave the house during the day waiting on deliveries. Now that I've got my couches, I just have a couple more things to come, and hopefully I can go on Wednesday. Monday is a holiday here, so no classes and no deliveries, so hopefully if everything gets here Tuesday, I can go on Wednesday.

Now that the book launch is scheduled, I am dealing with people coming up to me that I barely know wanting to talk to me. It's a bit weird. The paper is considering reviewing it for the Sunday supplement. I am seriously not up for that. I don't want my picture in the paper, and I really don't want to have a critic review it. I know it's not the Grapes of Wrath, and a bad review would really upset me, a good review might even be worse if that makes any sense. I'm trying to remember again why I wrote the thing.

Ratkitten 05-17-2008 06:01 PM

Hi again Peeps!

Cyn, sometimes you can get spyware stuff just clicking on those silly popup ads. If the kids aren't doing that, just going to wallpaper sites (for background pictures) can do it too. At least you got it cleaned off!

GGG, I had a sugar free mocha today and it played havoc with my tummy. Oh well. hehe. Very interesting about the shoe size! I hope that will make your tootsies feel better when you walk.

Battle, congrats on your new job! Hang in there. I don't do well when my routine shifts or if I don't have ample time to adjust to a shift as well. Give yourself time to adjust and then refocus when you are ready!

Catherine, yay for your new couches being there! I understand about the critic/review thingie. You have a lot of support for your book launch that you might not be aware exists. I'm sure Himself is prepared to be your bodyguard as well as his friends. I think you'll be amazed at all the people around you who see you as I see you.. someone who is honest and compassionate and has a story to tell. Hang tough! You aren't in this alone.

Being out in the sun has helped my perspective immensely today, despite the black fuzzy incident that happened earlier. I got the car washed and put the cover on it .. p00p on that you silly birdies!! The birds will p00p on my car no matter where it's parked. I think it's a big old crow that's doing it.

Hugs to all!
Ratkitten
