Rat - sounds like we now have a Roller Derby Queen to add to Biker Chick and Ebola Girl (hope we don't see her for a very long time).
Peggy - I must echo what Annie said - you are missed when you aren't here - or at least saying a quick hi. Isolation is also a problem for me as well as feeling I don't have anything to add of value. More later - tonight I hope. Have had my water after a great workout tonight and now ready for dinner. Hugs peeps |
Vickie, letsee if I can answer your questions :)
I bought my rollerblades at Modell's after trying them on. They are fitness skates and ran about $60. It's best if you have someone to help you learn to skate! I used to roller skate all the time as a kid, but these are way different. A bike might be a good investment. There are wonderful seats out there that are better than the torture devices that come with even the most expensive bicycle. You can get a decent priced bike at your local bike shop and they can fit you properly. So many people are turned off of bike riding cuz they don't fit their rides. My plan.. well.. right now it's to maintain and I'm a few lbs (2-4.. it varies) above my ticker. I have done very low calorie with doc's supervision, South Beach, Weight watchers and now just calories. I have to mix it up, just like exercise, or I get bored! Oh my ticker says 232 (you said you couldn't see it) and my highest was at 350 in April 2004. Hugs, Rat |
Jilly, Yep, not fun being so flat chested and being so big....I'm a B too and they are getting flatter and flatter.
Walrus, hope things get better for you. Ratkity, yes, you definitely have to get out there and enjoy the world now. Have fun! Peggy, YAY for getting that fish in each week. I need to get fish into my diet too not that you mention it. Annie, ok, now I want a hammock. It looks so nice and relaxing, and YOU, my dear friend, are gorgeous!!! Look at you!!! You're just beaming!!!! Vicki, haven't done my exercise yet but plan to between 7-8 pm. I'll probably do DDR or a WATP dvd. I've been lazy sorta and I sold some stuff on ebay and it was ending today so I had to check that out too. I sold some of my Lenox figurines that I've had for quite a few years. They're just dust collectors and I'm trying to get rid of things that are just stuck in boxes. NO, I'm not a hoarder. Just that spring cleaning spirit I get every year. We did make $320 though so that was a nice surprise. I also got a call from Walmart for a job interview. It will probably be in the stocking end of things but right now I'll take what I can get since I haven't worked since 1996. Boy, will that be weird. I miss making my own money and this way I can buy Jim something for our 10th anniversary without him knowing. That's if I get hired, so keep your fingers crossed for me. I won't enjoy working nights though but I think that is when most of the stocking goes on. toodles Debbie |
Vickie: I find this new lifestyle anything but easy! Sure, there are easier days, but I am one who, with some regularity, is hanging minute by minute on the edge of a binge. Sometimes the urge to shove fried anything with cookies into my gullet is so strong I feel like I am possessed, and there are days when I give in. So if I give the impression that I'm making it look easy. oh.my! Often, it seems like the hardest thing I have ever done. I just keep picking myself up and trying again. That's the difference. In the scheme of things, I have made a lot of progress. I hold on to that.
To me it seems like there are some members here who have laid out a course for themselves and rarely deviate. I am amazed at them. Peggy and Carol: I have a tendency to isolate too, but I try not to stay isolated for too long. If I could point to a good outcome from my isolation, I'd do it more. Rat: I'm impressed that you have maintained for a while. I am not sure about this maintenance thing at any weight. I'm much more familiar with gaining and losing. Debbie: Good luck with your interview at Walmart. Annie: May I say you look beautiful. A true beauty is emerging. Look at your beautiful smile, and how full of life you are. They are the best pics you have ever posted. There is a light around you. |
Hi all:
Thanks for the hugs -- I needed them! The best thing that happened to me today, food-wise, was that the pizza place messed up our order, so I ate less than half of what I would normally :p So tonight, again, I'm starting again! Woo hoo! Back on track from here on out. I know I can do it -- and with you all, for the first time in a long time, I'm not trying to do it on my own. I think I can do it...what a great feeling! |
Zelma: Hi there
Vicki: Hi to you too Debbie: I highly recommend a hammock. As a matter of fact, I think I will go "Swing" for a bit before bed. Thanks as always for the comments. You make me smile and I so appreciate you. I will pray that you are blessed with a job soon. Battle: I appreciate the wonderful comments. I am so happy right now. I have been down soooo low to suicidal so I have come so far up and am so happy even at 268 well, technically 273 right now. lol. Thanks though for the nice comments. I'm glad that my happiness is shining through. Walrus: Yipee for getting back on track. Tonight at group I was in with the people that are a long way out from surgery. Most of them are at goal weight and a few of them are still kind of heavy but happy with themselves. They were talking about getting attention and how they are now objects to men etc. I got to thinking about myself at 510 pounds and I was an object then. I have gotten some attention from men lately, unwanted and unsolicited attention just like when I was 510 pounds. Just different. The whole focus was on not regaining weight to keep that attention away and what can we do to not get that unsolicited attention. I am telling myself I can have unsolicited attention at 510 pounds or the weight I am now or smaller. If it is unsolicited then it is the same basically. Both make me uncomfortable but only one will send me to an early grave. It is really my choice on which I choose. I pray that I will be strong enough to choose the right one. I pray that I will remember always that I got attention at 510 pounds too and it felt just as icky as some body making lude comments. Just wanted to share with you something I thought about tonight. Hope you are all doing well, drinking water, moving bodies and staying op. Blessings, Annie |
Just a quickie, TOM arrived 13 days LATE, it's making up for it though, MONSTER migraine, cramps and um...TMI ALERT...very heavy. Apologies as the pc makes my head worse, so just a couple of personals.

ok so I should of learned last time!!!!!
I can no longer eat greasy fried food!!!! DD had a band practice last night right after school....till 6pm DH called me and asked what we were doing....he got off work a bit early....I asked him to pick me up a something to drink and drop it by the church (I sit & wait for DD since there are no adults and only 18-20yr old guys in the band....even though they are good Christian boys......I stay LOL) so DH did one better (he is so sweet!) He picked up dinner for all the band.....Captain D's.........now normally if we eat there I order steamed/baked fish not fried.....well he ordered 10 fried fish pieces.....and everything to go with it........the kids ate and started practicing.....I was crocheting in the back near the bag of food..........grrrr...........I was starving.....so I ate just one piece of fish about 5 french fries ......2 hushpuppies and about 2 TBS of cole slaw......after about an hour of crocheting I was still hungry....so I ate one more piece of fish! grrrrrrrrrrrr then all of a sudden my stomach started cramping.........I must of went to the bathroom for the next hour 4 times!!! got home and hit the bathroom again......then fell asleep at 8pm with stomach cramps still in full force! woke up this morning feeling better and yet had to still hit the bathroom again!!!! GRRRRR why oh why don't I learn???? I have to get ready for work but wanted to share with you all how our little "Music play thingy" went with our classroom! LOL wish you all could of seen it!!! I will try to get a copy of the video and upload it to my blog ROFL!!!! tooo funny! the theme for the Music Therapy Event was Ocean/Sea/Waterlife etc..... We performed a song with the other special needs classroom at our school.....they were the "water waves" our kids were the "fish" the other classroom had strips of 2ft wide sheer material on two dowels.....one student held one dowel and the other held the other end.....they were knealing and lifting the fabric up & down creating the illusion of waves rising and lowering.....all the material was in different shades of blues......our kids wore gloves with different colored 2ft long stripes of ribbons on each fingertip. they were to walk with arms fluttering like the fins of a fish. (I came up with adding a fish hat so the audiance could tell they were fish) Their hats were made from a coloring page on cardstock we colored brightly 2 copies and stapled them together to make a paper hat. Well we all were out there with our kids walking through the waves and our one student who does NOT like walking threw himself to the floor so the other two teachers had to physically carry him off stage.....while they were carrying him off....his backside was showing to the crowd/camera..........and his pants were drooping......ROFL!!! so we had a MOON in our performance! OHHH too funny you all just had to be there!!! If I can get a copy of it I will post it on my blog or something LOL tooooooo cute! ok gotta get talk to you all later! Hope everyone has a better day than I did yesterday!!! LOL Bernice |
Good Morning,
I went to bed before 8 last night and got up a little after 4am this morning.I usually get up at 5am. I have a UTI.......NO FUN!! I have antibotics so it will be ok in a few days. I didnt drink enough water over the weekend and that is what always sets me up for one. Hubby goes to the dr today to get his presciption for his new meds. He is weaning off the old ones but will take a month to get off this one and onto the new one. Then have to find the right dose of the new one. He has alot of tummy issues so maybe the swap will settle his stomach. For those who were talking about chest size ........i am a full D still but I was a exploding 44DD. I have lost 7 inches already off my chest. I am afraid its the very first place i loose weight other than my face. Annie_ your pictures are awesome!! You are so beautiful and look so happy now.I am so proud of you!!!! Zelma_ I am so thankful my daughter doesnt go to the tanning bed daily like most of her friends. IN fact she has commented on how bad some people a few years younger than me look who have tanned for years. She has said that if i a tanning bed does that to your skin then she doesnt want to tan at all. She will only go to the tanning bed 2 more times and then she will stop.PROM is saturday!!I am excited for her!!she looks like a model in her dress. She is gorgeous( proud mom...sorry). Well here comes hubby for breakfast. Have great day everyone...looks like rain here today. I dont feel up to being outside today and chasing kids anyways.LOL debi |
Annie, I must say, your pictures blew me away! You look absolutely amazing and happy and youthful and confident and I could just keep going and going with the positive adjectives!
Vicki, no Jeff and I still have not set a date. We were waiting for my parents to move and get settled in their new house before making any wedding plans, and now they moved at the beginning of April, so we've finally started thinking about it a bit more. We want to do something very different and very "us" instead of a traditional wedding. We're going to Sandusky, Ohio in October to check out some places so we can incorporate Cedar Point, roller coaster capital of the world, into our wedding. I've always loved roller coasters--now I just have to lose enough weight to actually fit back into them! |
Psst....Annie...
You look HOT!!! I am sorry...you look *fabulous* and your smile it comes right up from your toes!! WOW..I am welled up for you.:hug: |
Vicki, the dog we got is an English Pointer! He is 1 year old so still a pup. He gets so excited about everything. He is white with liver colored spots and a spot over one eye. His name is Buster. We got him at the humane society. He came with a few toys a blanket and a new crate! Then we went to Petco and got a lot of free things for just getting him. That was cool. And a coupon book for discounts! We are going to start obedience school with him on Sunday. Husband is very excited as we can go to this together as he is home on the weekends. I am not sure about going on "Mother's Day" but I get to spend time with him!! Then we will have the kids over and grill. That is my plan as I haven't mentioned that to the hubby yet!
Bernice, I know what you mean about greasy food. Everyone wanted KFC and I spent the night and next day in the bathroom. It is funny how your body reacts to that greasy stuff! Hope you are better now. My son wants to be in a band he just hasn't found the people to be with him. Debimitch, I first lose in the bust area too! It kinda stinks. I would rater lose elsewhere first and more! Oldest son's divorce is almost final. Not sure if I mentioned that one yet. It is a good thing! And the Army son has proposed to girlfriend. Teenage daughter has a boyfriend and they went to after prom party together and had a great time. Youngest daughter is getting ready for the dance Recital on the 17th, and started softball practice this week! So I am keeping very busy. The housecleaning did not get done. I was home for a couple of hours and then went with a friend to the doctor as she was in pain and wasn't sure if she would be able to drive. Today I have to get going on it before 2:15. That is when I have to go to the high school as our teenager is getting an award! Hubby is home and so he gets to go too. She is not aware of it as they will call her name over the intercom as well as 15 others. She got one last fall for outstanding academics and high honors! They never tell the kids until there names are called. It is kind of neat. The teachers put the kids names in for the awards. Then tonight softball practice with the younger daughter unless it gets rained out. They are supposed to learn how to slide tonight! She is a girly-girl so this could be interesting. She is good at ball I am just not sure that she will slide as she'll get dirty!! HA! HA! So we had to go and buy the slider. That was $20. Not sure if we need the slider shorts, but will probably find out. They are $40. That is rediculous. I told the older daughter that she never wore her slider shorts so I am going to see if I can cut them down for younger! Not sure if it will work, but am going to try! Should be interesting. O.k. now I have to quit rambling and get off here and start cleaning or it will never get done!!! You are all so inspiring! Thanks! Penny |
Vicki: The pool is outside. I could careless about the rain, but they will make you get out of the pool. LoL
BattleAx: ok I know I am slow but your pics look smashing darling!!! Whoohooo!! Julee: YEAH about the flip flops. That is the one thing I love about summer!! And we get to wear them to work as long as they are not the rubber ones like you’ wear to the beach…like the cheapy ones. As for me: Well no rain yesterday..I knew it was too good to be true. My membership got all done and me hubby and kids headed over to the Y. I will be honest I am not that shy of a person but when I got everything in the locker, and hubby and kids settled at the weight benches and I started walking towards the treadmill my throat fell into my stomach. I was so scared that I would either not know how to start it..fall off of it…or not be able to do it very long. Well I actually did the whole 30 minutes at a slow speed about 1.1 mile and hour and LOVED IT!! I felt so comfortable. There were people there all of different sizes. No one was staring; everyone was just doing their thing. I am glad I went. I am not intimidated by the treadmill anymore. I am going to do the tread all week and then the pool on the weekends. It is just easier that way. Oh I better go log my minutes in the exercise thread before I forget. Have a great day yall! |
Good Morning all,
Silly dogs woke me up at 6 a.m. I was going to sleep in today. lol. To all of you giving me comments on my pics, huge hugs to you. You are all so sweet and sure know how to make a gal feel nice. Thanks a million. Sharon: You are right. I do need to get smaller tops for sure. The sweatshirt I was wearing on the hammock is a favorite but it is wayyyy to big. lol. Keeps me warm though. Sorry TOM is so rough right now. I am still waiting to start. I will pray that Steve gets that job. Bernice: I loved your story about the play. Sounds too cute. Sorry you got a tummy ache. We just try things like that over and over sometimes. I guess we are a bit complulsive. lol. I know that I have tried to eat tortillas since I had my surgery and every single time they get stuck. lol. Hopefully I've learned not to eat them and hopefully you will stay away from fried greasy stuff. Hugs. Debimitch: Praying your DH transitions to new meds very well. Sorry about UTI. Hope you are feeling better soon. Jillybean: I think it is a great idea that you and Jeff are wanting a special wedding that is just something you two would do instead of the traditional kind. How fun. Peggy: Hot huh? lol. Thanks. Penny: Buster sounds like fun. I think he is very lucky to have gotten adopted by such a wonderful family. You sure sound like a proud mom with all your children and that is so great! Congrats to your daughter and her awards. Cyn: Woohoo to you on going to YMCA. I'm so proud of you. Well, I am going to Curves again today and hopefully to the pool. I found the senior center yesterday so there is no reason for me to not go speak to them other than fear. I need to get over that. I'll check in later. Drink your water, move your bodies and stay op. WE CAN do this. Blessings all, Annie |
Do I stutter Miss Annie? ;)
