I think we are in denial.!!! I took a peak at the scales today and they are stuck....but thats ok!!I have been on plan and moving alot. Not really exercising as much as i should be...but there isnt enough time in the day to do everything pllus yard and housework. I still have one more flower bed to redo. I am hoping to get it done this afternoon and then the garden needs weeding. It just never ends.LOL Im making a cake and trying not to eat any. I will see where my calories are at by the end of the day and go from there. Hope everyone has a wonderful day. debi |
Debbie: Thisa one has not turned me yellow or orange...I actually have a nice tannish glow to my skin...which is much better than the pasty whiteness that was causing so much blindness.
Rat: I had to give up roller blading a while back because there was not enough arch support for me which hurt my feet and then I got shin splints...OW! Please be sure you wear the wrist guars especially...most people will try to stop themselves from falling by bracing with their hands while they are flexed...which leads to many many wrist injuries. Nothing much to report. I bought a 2nd pair of FitFlops...yay! I think I may actually be able to come home tonight and cook dinner...gasp...I don't remember the last time I had a Tuesday night free. |
I used jergens tanning stuff for my sons wedding in dec. it didnt turn me orange either.I am lucky to tan so easily. I do use sunscreen on my face. I do freckle still. My kids all tan (redheads) but my middle daughter is really fair when she isnt in the sun. She tans wonderful if she is in the sun. My girls both use sunscreen when outside. My youngest has been using a tanning bed to get ready for prom this weekend.
I have never been in a tanning bed!! debi |
Hi ladies,
I'm down a few, and am now only 1 lb. above ticker. I feel so much better. There is a big difference in how my face looks when my weight goes below 250. I can't wait to move the ticker down. Hopefully some time soon. Have a great day, everyone. |
Catherine, hope your chest is feeling better today. I know how it feels being a fellow member of the itty bitty titty committee.
Bernice, YAY for the 1 pound loss! Carol, WooHoo on the 3/4 lbs gone! Ratkity, have fun on the rollerblades!! Peggy, I'm so glad to hear you got yourself back on track. You can do this!! Debi, Happy B-Day to your hubby and I hope the new meds help him alot. Battleax, YAY on the weight going down. Feels good doesn't it? Soon you'll meet your next goal. Just wanted to stop in and check in . Not much else is going on. I will be doing indoor exercise today since it's cold and damp outside. toodles Debbie |

Today is an *ugh* day. At PT this morning, they looked at how swollen my leg was and said that even if I wasn't doing anything, I need to keep the cast on most of the day -- but I thought it looked better, not worse! Boo hoo. Then, I have a yucky situation at my office job. I'm a resident manager, and a resident went online last night and posted on an apartment ratings site about how much her apartment sucked and how she had roaches, how we are slow to respond, blah blah. Of course, none of it is true. She had a roach in her kitchen light on January 8, for which we called the exterminator (who came on January 10), and one again at 5:22 last night -- which is when she posted. We will have the exterminator out on Thursday. I know that she's just mad that she got a rent increase, but I just don't understand people who retaliate for something like that by doing long-lasting damage to a business and to a person -- me! Phooey.
So, bad day today :( Anyone got an extra hug? |
Greetings again Peeps!
GGG, I did it. I faced my fear of falling and went rollerblading. I didn't fall. I had to get down on the ground to tighten one boot and was able to get up with no trouble. OMGosh.. what an NSV! I could get up without assistance! My friend was very helpful with instruction. I only did 25 min in the little park across the street from my work. I know I'm gonna feel this in my muscles!! OH, and promptly downed a bottle of water afterwards :) Gratz on your continuing loss! Catherine, ouchie on the tibetan titty torture. I have heard that smaller ones end up more bruised than hefty ones. Hang in there girl. My funk lasted from Feb until now. I really think that it has to do with being indoors so much combined with added stress at work. I even have a full spectrum light I work under. There's no sub for the real deal. Your pool stress reliever will kick in soon. Meanwhile, I'm here for ya. Vent away! Battle, I wore a bunch of guards, but they were itchy and HOT. Of course they were borrowed and not the right size. I'm gonna look for some better ones around town. Gratz on your downward slope! DMPL, w00h00 for a nice ending to a not-so-great week. Makes it worth it! Toris, I do the same thing. When I am in a funk and not posting, I am isolating. We are all works in progress! Sometimes I can't get the energy to post personals, but just saying hullo in a few words seems to lift my spirits. Keep posting! Cyn, bummer about the Y. I hope you get it fixed soon. 86F? Wow, that's a wee warm. I guess it's time for that to happen here in DC pretty soon. At least you drank your pool instead of going to one.. hehe. Good job on the water intake! Hiya Penny, when you get done with your house, there's an address I'll give to you to help you with your down time.. hehe. Yay on the pup! Have fun camping this weekend. Hiya Jilly, I only count special projects as exercise and continuous lawn mowing. Throwing the ball for the goldens doesn't count, but chasing them around the yard does! hehe. They are so much fun. Debi, that's funny about the kiddos being out after playing all day. Fingers are crossed about your DH's meds. I hope he likes his bday presents!! Julee, I was surprised how well the rollerblades fit. I even had to tighten my boots after moving a while. I didn't fall, but I bet there are gonna be screaming muscles in a couple of days!! Debbie, I had lots of fun on the rollerblades. I was afraid of them cuz of a prior experience (which was limited and without instruction). I have to face my fears in this new life, right? Walrus, major hugs to you about your leg. Dealing with that on top of an irate resident just didn't make a decent day. Hugs to all, Ratkitten |
Hiya Ratkitty:
No, say it ain't so -- we can't be heading for heat yet! This is the nicest spring we've had in DC in a while :) Thanks for the kind words -- I'm trying to stay positive, but some days, I just need that extra boost! Today we'll go for a walk tonight -- or at least I will -- which should make me feel better :D It's sooooo pretty out! Pollen be damned! |
RK, you are so right on the isolating thing. I did not go to many family or social events at my highest weight. It was easier to deny the problem existed. Oh well, water...bridge...you know the drill. Interesting to note, this former non-fish (except shellfish or tuna) eater has incorporated one meal with Fish as the protein once per week for two months now. My hubby could not believe when I brought it home the first time. Afterall, I had bought it before and then never cooked it. We cooked some Pollock on the grill for dinner last night and I said to him "Bet you never thought you would see me eating fish every week." and he said sheepishly "No..I didn't".
Small changes...small changes. |
Hello all,
Just zipping through to say hello. I'm having a hard to motivate myself kind of day. I did the exercising I had planned, but boy was it hard. I'm so looking forward to my rest week (which starts Thurs... although I've decided to keep 30min a day in). I even let my cravings change my afternoon snack. Not off plan, but I was to have an ounce of soy nuts and a protein shake. I was really into the salty soy nuts so I had two servings instead. It's still better than the days I would just have finished the container, but still.... After a mediocre day (I got rained on twice) the sun has finally decided to shine. Perhaps I should go outside and get some fresh air. Anyway, hope everyone is having a good, on plan day! |
Good afternoon/evening all,
Julee: I bet you will look a lot nicer in a bathing suit than you anticipate. You are a lovely looking woman! Jen: Wow about the facts from Wendy's. That book does sound neat. I rarely ever eat at fast food places anymore so I don't think it would be a good book for me. It does sound interesting though. Xena: Thanks for the nice comments. Good luck on the test tomorrow. Debbie: Oh, a frog. lol. Okay, much cuter than a bug. lol. Have a great time in the garden and thanks for all the sweet things you said. Julia: Enjoy the baseball game. Anne: yup, Costco is a dangerous place to visit. lol. I always find things I want there. I did manage to buy some Weed B Gone that we seriously need for our front yard. We are getting over run with dandelions. Angie: I agree about the animals and horses. I couldn't watch the video of the horse. It just makes my heart hurt. God gave us animals to care for not to abuse and use. It makes me sad. I grew up on a farm where we butchered animals for food but we always treated them well and respectfully. Ratkitten: Glad you are feeling better and that you had a fun time skating. I have thought about skating again. I used to love it but feel like I need to wait until I drop a bit more weight. lol. Carol: Woo hoo on another - 3/4 pounds. Way to go. I found the senior center today so, Friday I am planning on going there. I got pics to update my book and I will take it and let them look it over and answer whatever questions they have. One question that has been asked to me that I feel stupid about answering or it just gets me off guard is, "How did I get to weigh 510 pounds?" I hope I can do what someone here suggested and tell them it doesn't matter how I got there it only matters that I am not there now and I am going away from there. Catherine: Ouchie. Hugs to you on the CBT therapy my friend. I will be praying for you to be able to open up as much as you need to. Battle: Hugs to you. You brought tears to my eyes reminding me how far I've come. Thank you. Congrats on being only 1 above your ticker amount. I am still 5 above mine but I am soooo premenstral and swollen. lol. I have been eating so good and drinking plenty of water and exercising so there is no way I could be gaining weight that isn't TOM related. By the way, My DH is "bright white" and I think it is beautiful! Bernice: Congrats on -1. Great job after eating not so great. Peggy: Hugs to you. I sure did miss you when you were gone. When I am feeling low it always helps me to focus on the other ladies here and their struggles and accomplishments. Stay around even if you don't feel like posting much. Hugs. Cyn: Good luck getting to the YMCA. Poo to that lady at work that is trying to upset you. Just think after you are loosing weight she will want to go then I bet. Penny: I hope that you get to go camping this weekend. debimitch: How is DH feeling? How are you sweetie? I mean, how are you holding up? I hope well. Take care of yourself hun. Jill: I was laughing at what you said about getting a less cute bra after you and Jeff are married. Too funny. Have you guys set a date yet? Glad to see you again. Walrus: Hugs, Hugs, Hugs! Well, I posted my updated progress pics for May on the picture thread along with a picture of the baby mule I told you guys about back in April and some pics of me on the hammock that my DH put up for me and just sitting on my deck in the back yard. Hope you all have a wonderful day today. Tonight is my group night for weight loss surgery. I am sooo retaining water for TOM about to start. UGH. I wish it would just come already. lol. Blessings all, Annie |
Just a really quick fly-by... Reading lots, but seem to always be on the run. I am heading off soon for the before-school choir rehearsal.
Debi - I don't want to alarm you (or anyone else here) but we have been having a big push on advertising lately to make people aware of the dangers of tanning beds. They had a lady on who was dying (and recently died) of cancer from using tanning beds. As I said, I don't want to panic you, because I think she was a regular user and you said that your daughter was only using it for an upcoming event, but just in case she decided to make it an ogoing thing, perhaps you could warn her off it. I have no idea if there are 'safe' tanning beds, but this kinda surprised me, because I hadn't thought that they would give the same dangers for the skin as the sun. This is from someone who has decided that 'pale' is the latest fashion statement. I burn WAY too easily, and forget all the time to regularly apply tanning creams. In Australia we have a high risk of skin cancer from the sun, so I'll just put up with 'glowing' in a pale way, not a bronzed way. Take care all. I truly am thinking of you often, I just can't seem to take time to actually post much. Zelma |
Good morning ladies~~
So okay, it's 7:05 p.m., but sometimes there's nothing like hearing a cheery good morning to put a smile on your face. ;) I've had a pretty good day as far as my eating goes--until dinner time when I caved in and had some white rice. I'm doing low carb so rice is a no-no. :nono: It could have been a lot worse and I'm still under my carb count for the day so I'm not really upset about it. I still feel really good and positive about my eating so...yay for me. :-) RealCDN--don't beat yourself up about it. It happens to all of us and from what I've seen you seem to be doing a pretty good job. :D Torister--:cp: Good for you on eating that hated fish! Like you said, it's small steps and that is one small step that's going to take you far. Bravo! Walrus-- There you go, one hug. I hope it helps. I'm sure it's depressing about the cast, but at least it's not all day, right? And what a NOT NICE PERSON that resident is. Sometimes people are just so, so, pthhhhhh.....Just bring her here so we can deal with her the way she deserves. :club: I hope your night is better. Ratkitty~~good for you on overcoming your fear of rollerblading. I would love to try it but alas, I am a wimp. Some questions--did you buy your own rollerblades? Were they expensive and how do you size them? It looks like fun and I would love to try it. I have also been thinking of buying a bike. The seat hurts my butt though. :dizzy: I've heard you can buy special seats but I don't really know enough about it to decide. I haven't really been here for a while and I'm embarrassed to say this, but how are you doing on your plan and with your weight loss? I can't see the sliders and such so...:o Jill--how are you doing?:) I still have your quotes on my MySpace page under my "Awesome Quotes" section. :D It sounds like you and Jeff are doing great and it's nice to see you back here. The last time I came and posted you weren't so I was wondering how you were. Is that your dog in your avatar? What a cutie. Okay, I've got to go. I'm not going to mention the B cup thing because unfortunately for me...I cannot relate. I'm a 44DD:( and it's just as hard to find a cute bra in that size too. See--now there I went and mentioned it. Debbie54--Your "itty bitty titty committee" comment had me. Like I said to Jill, I can't relate but still...;) So how did your indoor exercising go? What are you doing? Hope your day gets a little more exciting. Battle--you're doing so well. :broc::cheer3::woohoo: good for you. I'm a little jealous at how easy you're making it look. :D Keep it up. JuleeCeeS--so how was dinner? I love coming home and making dinner for my bf. And breakfast too, which is one of the reasons I haven't been working out. I can't wait until the summer when I don't have to drive the school bus at 6:00 a.m. I can take that time to work out and still get home in the morning to make breakfast for Paul. As much as I want to work out, my mornings with him are not something I want to give up because I just love starting my day by drinking coffee and talking with him. So that's a choice I've made, but I still want it all. Is that so wrong? So anyway...how was dinner. :D debimitch--I hope the meds do what they need to for your husband. I'll be thinking of you. And I hope that you all have a great day and that he enjoys his b'day gifts. If you eat a piece of cake, then I hope it's a real itty bitty one. (LOL--I love that.) But don't feel badly if you do eat a piece. You have been OP so good luck. :) Worthapenny--what kind of a dog did you get? I have the 3 most wonderful dachshunds in the world, but I might be a little prejudiced.:lol:I hope your housecleaning got all done and that you were able to get all your water in. :)Enjoy your day off. azcyn--sometimes people are boneheads. Don't let her bother you. Now, is the pool an inside pool or an outside pool? Because if it's inside and it rains outside, does it really matter if you get wet? After all, you will have just gotten out of a pool, right? I kill me sometimes. Anyway...great job on drinking all of that water. I am having a harder time giving up my Diet Coke than I did giving up my beloved Coca~Cola, and I'm not drinking half the water I should be. I just bought myself a new case of Poland Springs though, which I want to keep upstairs in the fridge so I'm hoping that'll kick start my water intake again. I actually do understand about being sick of soda though. I've been drinking more Crystal Light than soda lately. As much as I like the Diet Coke, it doesn't seem to quench my thirst as much as it used to. I think I actually like it mostly for the caffeine. Okay, I know I'm missing people, but I've got to go and these are all of the responses under the page that I can read right now. :o I'm not organized enough to take notes while I'm reading so I can't comment on other things because sadly, I don't remember everything. *sigh* But HI everyone. I hope you're all having a good day and if you aren't I hope that tomorrow is better for you. Have a great night. :grouphug:  Vicki |
