Good afternoon all,
I've done pretty good at getting the exercising done in the morning, so this is good. It gives me more free time to get other things done. Although this afternoon I'm considering a nap. Other than that it's pretty quiet around here. I've heard that we're supposed to get more snow. Enough already, we give up! I've avoided looking at the forecast but people always want to tell you about bad weather.
Bernice - Under calories is something I struggle a little with. I know I need to snack at night, but I've noticed that I'm usually just adding all the calories I didn't have. Then I seem to just snack from dinner until bedtime. When I change my meal plan around next week I'm going to address that. Maybe a little extra at breakfast, and a mid-morning snack. I still need that evening snack, but I'm going to try cutting it down. And very big congrats on the cookie victory! Although I never did it, you could try recording some of the fitness and/or yoga shows to use when you feel like it. Before I decided to work on the weight training that was my plan.
Penny - I missed the hot water reference completely. Yay! You have hot water. We were on a trip last year and there was a period of a couple of days where the hot water was intermittant. You really don't think about it until you don't have it. And you're right, about the ice cream bars. I'm a little annoyed today because another grocery store has them on sale (about $2 less that what I paid). I think I'll skip the sale this time. Maybe the next time they're on sale I'll consider buying another box. We'll see how this one goes. Good luck on the weigh in. And good luck with your daughter. I shudder to think what I was like at that age.
Sharon - B&J's Cherry Garcia was a favourite of mine. They do it in both ice cream and frozen yogurt. If they had the yogurt one yesterday I would likely have bought it. The ice cream is just way too high to even think of. At least until I know I have enough control to portion it out. That may be a long way off (or perhaps never, who knows). Congrats on the loss. I don't know why I picked Mondays, especially since this time I started on a Friday. Just seemed to happen that way.
Catherine - I usually hit about 55g of fat (just under 25%), but I do see that I have a couple of low fat days earlier in the week. My problem with dairy is that I generally don't take much. I can't stomach milk, yogurt, etc. so I do use a little butter and try to add a little cheese. The doctor did suggest a calcium supplement, but I know that's not really the best choice. I do usually hit between 50 and 75% RDA on calcium though. I'm planning to change my protein levels next week (higher), so with that will come a little more fat. I'll be adding in some peanut and/or almond butter, soy nuts, and maybe almonds. So we'll see what that does. As to the snow question... ignore it, it will go away. Okay, it's probably way too early to be saying that. I can't avoid it any longer, so off to the weather network.
From Friday Evening to Saturday Afternoon we expect 30-40 cm of snow. (converted that's 11.8" - 15.7")
What! It's freakin' March 7th. We do not get this type of snowfall here at this time of year. Our average monthly snowfalls add up to 153cm (that might be different from what our avg is). I think the main difference is that we don't usually have a lot of snow cover at this time of year. October is often a good time of year for southwestern Ontario. August is often quite hot and very muggy. September usually starts lousy, but by the time school is back it can be quite warm again. October can be quite nice with brisk days, but not always cold. Having said all that I do remember going out for Halloween as a kid and it would snow. Of course it was that light fluffy stuff that never stayed around. Well, if nothing else, I'm glad the shopping is done and that I filled up the wood bins inside.
TheWalrus - hope the leg is okay. I'll bet you're looking forward to next Friday!
Annie - you are allowed (and expected) to have a week where you didn't lose an ounce.

We're all really bad at dealing with those weeks. I'm hoping that I'll get better with dealing with them myself. Hopefully next week you'll make up for it!
Debbie - congrats on the 3 pounds. The ice cream was good, and I reminded myself that I'm the one that said I would deny myself nothing (well not to excess). That if I wanted something I could just find a way to work it in. I've decided that the other three could become a Sunday treat (to go with my rest day). We'll see how next week goes. Except for typing about them here, I'm not really thinking about them, so that's good.
Well, it's still early enough that I'm considering that nap. Or maybe just sack out on the couch and watch an episode of Torchwood or something. Oh, and by the way, it just started snowing...
(okay I know technically it's a Christmas scene, but it's kind of how it looks, especially since one of the neighbours still haven't taken their stuff down....)
