300+ March Madness Exercise Thread
to the March exercise thread! We're making exercise a habit, giving ourselves some accountability, and getting healthier in the process!
In this thread, we track the number of MINUTES we exercise for the month -- whether it's walking or swimming or sweaty housework! Most of us set goals for ourselves (I personally will not exercise much without a goal). If you are a goal-setter, early in the month set your own goal! If you're just getting started, feel free to start with a smaller number of minutes (I did!), maybe just a few hundred. It seems easier for many of us to build on the habit rather than meet a very high goal right away. However, you can also just jump right in without a goal, and you can join us anytime in the month!
And you want to jump in, because one of the main reasons to be here is to track how many minutes we exercise as a group! In 2007, we exercised over 200,000 minutes... let's see what 2008 brings!

So, I know I can do the treadmill portion of the goal, but it's usually the other exercises I have to push. I'm setting the hour a day for the treadmill, making up Sunday's rest day on other days. I'm aiming for 8 hours of weights (this is roughly 15 mins a day), and 4h 30m which was going to be the sculpting DVD twice a week. However, at Costco this morning I bought Leslie Sansone's 5-mile walk set which includes hand weights, a belt with bands and another band. I haven't put it in the player yet, but I suspect I'll incorporate it into my routine. How this will affect my monthly stuff I don't know. I'll break it down, but at the end of the month what I'm looking for is the total number.
Treadmill - 1860, Weights - 480, Sculpting DVD - 270
So, overall, some combination that gets me to - 2610
I'm so looking forward to April when perhaps I can add some swimming into the mix.

I am going to aim for 900 minutes of exercise in Mad (but motivating!) March.
I aim to exercise 4 - 5 times per week, mostly using DVDs at home which combine cardio + weights. I also plan to start swimming on Monday - my girls are already booked into a creche.
Good luck with all of your exercise goals!

Since this is my first month setting a goal, I am going to try to aim for something I am pretty sure I can reach and hopefully pass it. My goal for March is 1200 minutes. Good luck everyone!

Want to do at least 840 for March.http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/images/smiles/carro
I did 227 minutes for Feb, just starting out. Hope to do at least 840 mins for March. Just got some decent shoes so that should help. Also the fact that I just spent a wad on shoes!
My mini goal is 275, also have a Dr's appt on the 17th and want my bp to be a lot lower then. Also want to be down at least a few pounds and be under 300 by then.

I think I will try for just a 1000 this month. I was under my 1200 for Feb. by 400 minutes.
30 mins DDR

I didn't even get any intentional exercise in for the month of February so I am going to try again for 300 minutes.

Did it today, 35/840
[

I did it! I walked 35 minutes with my brother who also needs to lose weight, lower his blood pressure, and lower his stress.
I am feeling so good, despite eating horribly yesterday, that I may go again this evening.
Got a compliment today. If people realized how powerful compliments are, and inspirational, they would give more of them.
