This week has been so hard to get out...well no excuses.
I did 20 minutes on the treadmill and 60 minutes weights and functional training yesterday. Group total: 1,804 + 80 = 1,884 |
I don't want to give up on my goal of working up to 45 min/day by the end of 2008. So starting tomorrow (Sat.) I'm going to go for 15 min/day of intentional exercise (DVDs or outdoor walking, depending on weather). That makes 360 minutes by the end of March.

I found a great beginning workout with dumbbells for my bicep/triceps, and then another routine for my glutes, hamstring, hips (saddlebags too!), & calves. It takes me about 6mins to run through them all! I did this yesterday & today! Plan to do this each morning and night! I need to walk today! all this snow just wants me to curl up with a blanket & book!

I just scrolled through Discovery Health channels On Demand freebies and there was a guy on one that showed you a couple of good arm movements and said to start out with 3 sets of 15 reps and increase reps by 5 and then increase weight size as needed. Same with the leg movements I have chosen ones that will work my problem areas. I do same sets/reps & can add ankle weights. I do them to my own music on my IPOD |

Well I up my weights & leg exercise so that I do 10 mins of that. Today I walked on the treadmill, did my mile.....with 3-30sec jogs, 2-1min jogs finished in 24mins so I thought what the heck make it an even 30 so I did 6 more mins cooling down to a podcast. Ended up doing 1.5 miles total!

Starting late
Since I just started this serious weight loss thing yesterday, I am lagging! For me, any "real" exercise is an improvement. I pledge to 15 minutes a day between my thighmaster and dumbbells! Starting today. That's 15x22 days= 330 minutes by the end of the month.
I started using the "fit day" calculator yesterday also and was surprised at my # of calories. No wonder the weight just bounces up and down. I have shown a great deal of will power though in the Girl Scout cookie department. I am a troop leader and have access to an unlimited an=mount of cookies. I usually down 15 boxes or so during the post-sale season. This year, I have only shared 4 boxes. I would say I have eaten total about 1 box. Also, today, my kids had earned a reward to go to ColdStone. I usually get the Love It size which is pretty big all for myself. Today however, I didn't get any for myself. Just so I wouldn't feel deprived, I had 1 bite from each of theirs' (only 2 of them) Go me! |

Home sick with the flu since Saturday afternoon so exercise has been minimal. I went for a 3 mile walk on Sunday and Tuesday (each 50 mins), for 100 minutes total.
