300+ Weekly Thread #1143
:welcome:
We are a group of individuals who weigh or have weighed 300+, or near there. This group was formed to provide a place for others like us to find support and hope. We are aware of the distinct problems that come with weighing over 300 lbs. We want to invite everyone (roosters as well as chicks!) to join us in our journey. We share laughter and tears, heartaches and fears ... joys and celebrations. We also share what works for us and what doesn't. We know the thread can move very quickly, and that people often make "personal" remarks and keep a number of conversations going. Please feel free to contribute even if you can't make personal comments all the time. Finally, we also have several extra threads going on simutaneously such as Monthly Challenges, Weekly Weigh-ins, Recipes, Bios, Photos, Exercise, Info for Getting Started and more. Many of these threads are stickied at the top of the page. Please feel free to check them all out. We have found this thread to be more than just a support group... we have found it to become a home. We invite you to join us. I know you'll all agree that we are really thankful for the free services here at 3FC. The sisters offer all of this support and information with no charges to us. There are a couple of ways though that we can help out. If you are thinking about buying anything at Amazon, why not help out 3FC at the same time? You can do this by clicking on the button for the Amazon "store" in the upper right hand corner of the screen on the PURPLE tool bar. A portion of your purchase price will be given to 3FC by Amazon. It doesn't increase your price at all, but it does help out 3FC. You can use any of the Amazon.com links that you see on the site in order to help contribute to the site. Also, BTW, in case you didn't know it, you can view the message boards "ad free" for a minimal charge. I think it's $15 for 6 months. A very small investment to be rid of the annoying ads and make your pages load quicker. There have been some concerns expressed by the powers that be about copyright infringement. So please, if you are directly quoting someone else or printing an article in whole or in part, please give credit where credit is due!!! |
Good Morning!:coffee:
Just thought that I would start the new thread since it looks like I am the first one on this morning!! :D Yesterday was completely nuts...we had to be there at 8:30 and I wasn't allowed to stay...which was ok because all the other girls there (over 100) were all around Sammi's age, so I didn't think too much could possibly go wrong since it was so crowded. I stayed in my car and read the Sunday paper, and did some more sewing on my Great-Nephew's blanket...yes girls, it's the one that was suposed to be finished in time for his birth (May 18th,2007!!:yikes:) which hopefully will be done by his 1st Birthday!!! They were supposed to be done by 12 (yeah, right) and had I known it would go on until 3PM, I would have left and come back. Most of it was shot outside in the cold and the girls had to be in the "crowd" with no coats on. I was a little perturbed by 3pm, and since my DD was schmoosing and taking pictures with the band...I kinda lost it with her. I think 6 hrs sitting in a car with one emergency (almost exploding bladder) bathroom run to McDonalds(without even buying anything!) gave me the right to be mad. Of course I blew my eating when I got home, and I feel a little guilty for screaming at her, but life goes on. I had Doug drag my Gazelle out of the garage and started off this am with 20 minutes. I have to get serious now, even if this stupid heel still hurts...I am tired of being a slug!! Plus you ladies motivate me to do something. It still burns both my feet by the end of the 20 mins, and I have to make sure I don't kick Jack in the head, but maybe it will get better as time goes by. Time to put the warpaint on and get ready for work...don't wanna scare anyone!!! Have a Great Day!:cheer2: |
Mama B - Ugh, I used to get sooo mad waiting for my sister to be done with her various events, and after school pick ups and sometimes I would feel bad too for getting so irrationally mad. But it's okay, I am sure your daughter doesn't take it too personally when you got mad, I never got upset with my mom for that.....especially after I got a taste of what waiting forever was like from my sis! Also, I have the bladder the size of a pea and so I was constantly having to make those emergency runs too! It's just exhausting! Oh, and I had a gazelle too but I traded it for a treadmill when I kept kicking my poor puppy dog!
I'm pretty excited for my diet/work out regime! I have been going strong for two weeks. My sister is also doing the work outs (she is so skinny, sometimes I just want to accidentally knock her over...whoops! haha not really though). We do belly dancing and weight training every morning. Then at night we put oon our sauna suits and do a cardio video followed by dancing around to music. It's as corny as it sounds. We are getting a little tired of Sean T's hip hop abs so we are renting workout videos from netflix. We are going to do a new one every week so we wont get bored. Tomorrow, Bollywood dance is coming. I am soooo excited about that one because I love Bollywood! Ten after that, The Fireman's workout....which I am sure wont be nearly as sexy as it sounds. I have been really good about my diet (special K challenge) and I'm so full of energy and happy. Also, the sauna suit has been making my skin so baby soft! I know this is just that initial work out high, but it feels good to finally feel good. The last time I was on a diet and work out plan was in April of 2007 and it lasted a whole of 8 days. I got into a car accident with my lil sis in the car and we were both so sore we just quit and ran for our comfort food. This time I have high hopes....and I'm watching out for myself in the car too. I hope everyone has a super positive week too. I find that I do best when I try and love myself and life and smile more. So lots of smiles and good thoughts beamed out to everyone on this yicky Monday! Dusty |
Good Morning All,
Debbie: Great job on the DDR! We got 15" of snow since Saturday afternoon. We are supposed to be getting more snow every day this week with no end in site. I love the snow! Donna: Sorry you had such a bad day yesterday. Good job jumping on the Gazelle though. Dusty: Hi and have a great day. Well, I'm at work so I gotta um WORK. lol Have a super great op butt moving day all. Blessings, Annie |
Hi everyone,
I'm finally down 1 lb. Today I am putting in a renewed effort to shave off some calories in my plan to shake things up a little. I've been trying for more than a month, and last week I actually ate more than my old calorie level. One thing I've learned is that changing the routine on eating and exercising is difficult. That's why the change of season is difficult, especially from Summer to Fall. I know I can do this, it just seems to take a while to adjust. My new level will still be very high compared to most. I have plans to get in all my required exercise by Thursday, because I'm heading out of town Thursday night. I am wondering how it will be on the plane. Last time I flew it was about 2 weeks into my eating plan. I surely hope the seats are a little more comfortable this time around, because it's a red eye, and the plane is full. Ugh. Annie: thanks for suggesting upping my exercise to cover the additional cals eaten. I am maxed out on the amount of time available for exercise, so it's got to come from calories. I know I can do it. Donna: Great job getting the gazelle out. Do be careful with your foot problem. Years ago I decided to "work through" my foot pain and made the plantar fasciitis unbearably painful. Dusty: You are smart to change up the exercise program to keep it interesting. I tend to get stuck in a rut with the same exercise, and it would probably be better for me to change it around. Early in the morning I am not creative, and go for the known. |
Good afternoon everyone!
I'm still a little bummed from yesterday. I woke up with ear pain. It hurts when I open my mouth too far. Maybe that's my body's way of keeping me from eating :D. We don't have medical insurance, so I can't hit a doctor's office. I think it's a swimmer's ear type issue. I had that once in high school and ever since then, I get it really easily. I'm going to try some vinegar or alcohol if I can find it and see if that helps. I've gotten it to work in the past at any rate. I only have 185 calories eaten so far, but that will change in a few minutes. I haven't exercised yet but ugh.. this ear is really cramping my style. |
Hello everyone! Good Monday Morning!!
I am happy to report I have been OP all weekend, however my food choices have not been that great. I am proud of myself because this was the mother load of all stressful weekends. First, well you know about the insurance issue last week. Second, some issues (pretty bad) have popped up with my mother and extended family who live several states away but still tries to come find me, and Thirdly, we are trying to make a very difficult school decision for my disabled son. So all in all I think I have done well just to stay OP even if my choices are bad. I am kicking butt though and trying to stay positive this week and not get down in the dumps. Hope all have a great day. Tina |
good morning everyone. sorry to say i had a bad way off program this weekend. doing great today though! hope everyone else has had a great weekend!
|
I wanted to thank everyone for the prayers and support. We both needed it and appreciated it very much. I'm feeling much better. My blood pressure has stabilized, and I feel like I've gotten my strength back. I'm spending the day getting caught up on laundry, and getting the house together for my Superbowl party on Sunday. I've got an Ecclesiology paper due on the the biblical origins of the church, that I'm mostly finished with. I'm just trying to stay busy, and stay OP. That's enough to concentrate on for right now.

Just a quick flyby from werk....
Yay Catherine! You got my psychic message. I was hoping you'd post today to let me (all of us) know how you were doing. After losing about 120 lbs and being off BP meds for 2 years, my bp decided to start going up drastically. *sigh* Getting old is for the birds!! Fortunately, I have some leftover (already asked doc, tis ok) BP meds and will use them until I see him on Feb 5th. Never a dull moment, eh? Hugs and Luv, Ratkity |
Glad to see you posting Catherine
|
Happy Monday Peeps - just a quick fly by - today is a good day even if I'm not patient. I stayed OP all weekend after the Friday night fiasco and feel good - I need a whoosh though I will try to be patient. The upcoming weekend will present a few challenges for the surprise party for my mom's 80th birthday. I'm not really a cake eater but with the party stress I'm a little concerned. After the big party we will have dinner for about 30 here and I can handle that. One day at a time - one foot in front of the other.
Catherine - nice to see you posting. Hugs to all, Carol |
Donna, sorry you had such a sucky day taking your daughter to that commercial. You can't ever believe them when they say it will be done at a certain time. And then on top of that having to go to the bathroom. Sheesh!! At least it got you motivated enough to get the 'ol gazelle out. Hopefully you'll have better days ahead.
Dusty, o that Bollywood one sounds like fun. What do you have to do on that one? The belly dancing would be fun but I don't know if I would do it if someone else was around. Too much of my belly would be going one way while the rest of me would be going the other way. Annie, as I'm sitting here, I'm enjoying watching the snow come down. We still didn't get alot, but enough to cover most of the ground. Suppose to get more tonight. I bet where you live is just gorgeous. Battle, I don't think you'll have too much trouble with the seats. I got the belt fastened and I weigh more than you do. Have a safe trip. Heather dw, Sorry to hear about your ear. I hope it gets better soon. Another old remedy you might want to try, although it does sounds sorta weird, but I've tried it and it works....Is to make a cone shape out of a newspaper and hold it up to your ear, then have someone blow smoke (yes, cigs, you won't get cancer of the ear ) thru the paper into your ear. I swear it works. I learned this from some latino women where I used to work. Whenever I get an earache now, I just grab a paper and head for my dad!! Tina, toofatforu, glad to hear you're doing better! Stick with it. Catherine, so glad to see you back. Ratkity, isn't that weird it would go back up? I hope it settles down soon. Maybe it's just a fluke for the time being. TOM is finally gone but the leftover water weight is still with me. Ugh!! I hate feeling bloated. I have a question, when you exercise, do you start getting bloated? My ring gets really tight on my finger for some reason when I exercise and usually it comes right off? I haven't had this happen before or maybe I wasn't working out hard enough for it to do it, but since I've been doing 2 hours a day on the DDR, it's been happening. This going on with anyone else? Have a super day!! DEbbie |
I did my one mile walk today. I didn't do it on Saturday because we walked all over the place during the ice carving festival and I am conservatively estimating it as 3 miles. Sunday I was in a funk, so didn't do it.
I had a snack it was 1/4c unsalted dry roasted peanuts at 180 calories. It seems like alot but I figured the mono fats would be good for me. I'm still trying to work out the snack issue, as that's my downfall. A friend sent me a recipe for a low-fat cake. I'm going to make it later, but sub in angel food cake :D. Should be good (I hope) |
Hi everyone!
Catherine - Hi & big hugs! You have been in my thoughts and prayers! So Saturday - all day - our company was at a wine festival at a local Days Inn. We sat up our booth in the a.m. and worked the festival all day! I went on an empty stomach, thinking just incase I had some wine calories, I'd be ok. Well, there was no food of any kind to eat all day..........so we drank WINE all day! Urgh. I drink like once a year, so ............needless to say........................I was quite tipsy by the end of the evening. :hat: So, sunday, yea, I had a "heavy" head and I napped a couple of times. Urgh!:o My daughters giggled and thought it was so funny. They kept telling everyone that Mom had a hangover! Oh well, just thought I'd share! I've been staying OP and still working out at least every other day. We are getting a family membership to the YMCA (which is 3 blocks from my house) so that we can use some different equipment and the pool. I'm looking forward to it! I think I'd like to join one of the water programs! The membership is a little pricey but it is a payroll deduction where my husband works. Well, I'm at work so I better scoot. Just wanted to say hi and leave a little note! |
Hello All,
Am happy to report that I lost 3 lbs last week  I only have 11 lbs to go before I am back to 100 lbs lost. I think I’ll feel a lot happier when I am at least back to that milestone. Donna – ooh I think I would have shouted at my daughter too if I had been sitting around for soooo long. So don’t feel too bad about it. It sounds like she had a great time even if poor you didn’t. LOL about you still sewing that quilt for your great-nephew  How much have you got left to do? Do you think you really will have it finished for his first birthday? I hear you on the burning feet on the Gazelle. I am guessing at least in my case that mine were caused by my weight. The more weight I have lost the less my feet burn. I used to break my work up into 2 sessions of 15 minutes, why don’t you break yours up to 2 lots of 10 minutes. It’s no fun on the Gazelle if your feet hurt. Dusty – I’m glad we don’t have any pets, it sounds like the Gazelle is a real threat to them lol. The only thing under threat in my house is the TV  If I don’t position the Gazelle just right I’ll be kicking right into the screen (small living room). That’s great news that you are feeling so great on the Special K diet. I actually love Special K. I love it too much though and would find it hard to stop at the 2 daily bowls  Annie – who’s a naughty girl then lol going on the net in work, tut tut  Seriously though, I think with all the hours you work you deserve some Internet time in work hours  Oh yes we have a LOT of those WW snacks you mentioned. My problem is that they are TOO nice. It’s as bad as having chocolate in the house. When I eat one, I need to eat all of them!! I just have no self control. I can’t wait to hear how you feel after putting on that jumper at group therapy, you are going to be absolutely gobsmacked at how much weight you have lost. I know you are going to wonder how you managed to walk around when you were that much heavier!! It might even help you to realise just what an amazing achievement you have had  Sugarcoatit – when I’ve hit mini goals I’ve given myself an assortment of rewards. I’ve had a gorgeous face cream which I wouldn’t normally buy myself, perfume, a handbag, a CD, a new exercise DVD, and my fave reward came courtesy of my hubby, he would give me a half hour foot rub :D every time I lost 14 lbs!! Carol – how are you feeling today? I hope you are having an optimistic day? I was very interested to read what you said about the rule of thumb for how much water we should drink. I worked out that I drink just about the right amount, so that’s good news. I always wondered if I was drinking enough or too much. Heather D – how has today been for you? I must say that I wasn’t surprised to hear that you went over your calories, it’s so hard to stay strong on a diet when you are feeling so defeated  Come on, you must ignore those scales, and just keep on trying your best. You WILL see the rewards soon  I’m sorry that you have such a bad earache, it really upsets me when I hear my American friends can’t get the health care they need. This country might be cold and grey, but I’ll always be grateful that we have our national health service. I really hope that the vinegar or alcohol will work for you, and hey if it doesn’t, you could always drink the alcohol, that’ll numb the pain :D Debbie – wow 2 hours on the DDR, that must be an awesome work out. I had a go on my kids dance mat about 3 years ago and it nearly killed me!! I am very impressed that you can do 2 HOURS :yikes: Oh yes, I notice my rings get tighter after I’ve exercised. I don’t put it down to bloating as such, I just put it down to getting hot. It’s like if you go to buy a ring on a hot day, the jeweller will measure your finger and suggest a size smaller than what actually fits on the day because when it’s cooler the ring won’t be snug anymore. BattleAx – that’s wonderful news on your 1 lb lost, onwards and downwards from here on. I know you’ll be able to shave some calories off what you have been eating and you will soon be reaping the rewards  I bet you will see a big difference in how you fit on those plane seats on Thursday, I can’t wait to hear from you after that to hear how happy you were with how you fit. Tina – big  to you, I’m sorry you are going through so much now. You deserve a big :cp: for staying OP and not giving in to comfort eating!! Patti – I sent you a message on MySpace asking how your weekend went, I didn’t ask how it went OP wise because I guessed it might not have been so good :D Don’t worry about it though, I bet you had a lovely time with your sister, and you can be good all week now to make up for any naughty eating you did  Ratkitty – sorry to hear that your BP is giving you some problems. It’s a good job you have some of your old meds that you can take. It’s weird isn’t it how we can lose a lot of weight, and still suffer problems that we thought we would leave behind with all the fat we’ve lost :dizzy: Jeanne – woops about the wine drinking  Sorry you felt a bit under the weather the next day! I don’t know about you but I can drink hard liquor like vodka or Southern Comfort and a lot of it and not end up with a hang over, but if I drink wine which is far less strong in alcohol levels I always always end up with a stinking head ache. Needless to say I don’t drink wine often lol. Catherine – glad to see your post, and am glad you are keeping busy, sometimes that’s the best way to get through things  Sharon – sorry I missed you today, I had a migraine and had a sleep before tea to try to get rid of it. Hopefully I’ll catch you tomorrow. Ok time for me to go now, take care all and I’ll be back tomorrow, Hugs, Ammi :grouphug: |
Break time and I thought I'd check in with you all.
Battle: Congrats on -1 pound. Better than up. I hope that when you get in the plane it is such a wonderful experience and the seats are much nicer for you. I am planning a trip in March and I am so nervous about it. I haven't been on a plane since 1999! heatherdw: Hydrogen peroxide may help some with your ear. Feel better soon. Tina: Good job staying positive. Patti: You can do it. Back on the op wagon. Catherine: Welcome back. Hugs. Ratkitten: Sorry about your bp. Hugs. Carol: Good luck as you plan the party. Debbie: Enjoy the snow. I sure do. It is so beautiful here. It looks like a winter wonderland seriously. All the pine trees are covered wih snow. It is lovely. Jeanne: I wish I could go to the YMCA. Have fun. Ammi: Woohoo! Congrats on -3 pounds. You are rockin it. Well, back to the grind. Blessings all, Annie |
Sorry this is just another fly-by post. This weekend turned out to keep me very busy, and it was back to work today. Training still. I have a 3 hour gap in the middle of the day between runs, so I'm going to try and take my laptop, and I can go down to the library, so MAYBE, just maybe, I can keep up with you all, at least a little bit!
In the Summer, I'll be able to go walking, it'll be nice. Hope you're all having a great Monday, and let's make this an AWESOME week! |
I checked the seat width for the planes, and on all the flights it's the smallest seats possible-- 17" (43 cm). The last time I flew on Delta with these same seats, I was in pain and practically crying. At the time I was a size 24. I hate to be full of anxiety about my upcoming flight, but I am.
This is one reason that being fat is utterly miserable. ------ Ammi: Congratulations on your 3 lb. loss! You are doing beautifully, and before you know it you'll be past the 100 lb. mark. Catherine: It's great to see you around. Annie: Hi! Debbie: I have gotten bloated from time to time exercising, especially if I got really hot while exercising. Carol: You have all week to do well on your plan before the party. You could very well have a nice little loss leading into the event. Won't that be nice, and a great reason to not overindulge at the party? Ratkitty: Sorry your BP is up. It's not fair. |
Good P.M. friends. Been awake since 2am, and work a little OT, then discovered my battery was dead. :( Happily, the security at the hospital came and quickly gave me a jump. Coulda been a better day; coulda been lots worse. I lost a filling and then the tooth broke, so I'm getting that out on Friday - to the tune of $170-195. :( :( It's not feeling too good, but it keeps me away from the kitchen. It will also keep me from donating blood a while longer, too. Boo hiss. Hate the needle - like the $20 gas card my company gives for donations. Hey. That's life.
OH, ya know how you get bonus or pay-back points with some credit cards? I just cashed in enough points to get $100 in gs cards. They came in the mail the other day... and that's when I discovered there are NO shell gas stations in the AKron/Canton area any more. Silly me. At least I can use in when I drive up to visit my dad in Buffalo. Tah-tah! Good night, and good menus... you know what I mean. :) |
Hi All,
Today was a ok as I worked 11.5 hours. Can't go off program when you're that busy. I'm really tired so it'll be bed time for me really soon. Debbie You rock girl!!! Keep on movin'!! And I'm proud of you too. xxoo Battle Hope you have a good trip. Can you stop by the grocery at your destination to pick up to pick op snacks and microwaveable meals??? Just a thought. I wish you the most success & comfort. Heather_dw I have to tell you, your pic in your avatar is just adorable. Sorry about the ear, I'd put my $$ on the alcohol. Let me know what you think of that angel food cake recipe you got. I may want it in the future. Tina Hang in there and "welcome: by the way. Just remember we can't chose our family but we can chose how we deal with them. ..........I'm one to talk. I have a relative that at the moment is making me CRAZY!! xxoo Patty, Glad to see you! How's the knee?? Hang in there for today! You can focus on tomorrow when it gets here. Ratkity Sorry you're back on bp meds, but I'm certainly glad you had some on hand and caught it early on. Let us know how your 2/5 appointment goes. xxoo Carol, Are you responsible for the cake or dessert?? Abby's birth day is next month and I'm making her a low carb, low-fat cheese cake she's all excited about. Jeanne Ammi :woo hoo: for you!!! I KNOW you'll get to that milestone quickly!! xxoo Hi Kayley & any others I missed. I need to get to bed soon as tomorrow is another full day. Hugs |
Ugh. I ended the day at 2075 calories. Dang it.
Late night/afternoon snacking is my downfall. Ugh! How do you guys cope with that? 2075 is still not too bad for my weight, right??? |
Hi Peeps - another great OP day - I still hold some hope that perhaps the official WI tomorrow will bring at least a little loss. I will stay the course - I am strong - I will reach my first goal (someday) - I cannot compare myself to the speed others lose at as it's probably time to admit I'm 50 and my metabolism may have slowed a bit. I will continue to exercise. I will continue to drink my water. I am actually starting to entertain the idea of using the treadmill at home on the off days from my scheduled classes.
Remind me of this when I need it. I usually can deal with the slow loss but it really got to me yesterday. Thanks for all the support. Sandy - yes, I'm in charge of the cake - but it is 2 full sheet cakes from Sams - we are expecting about 75 for the party. Battle - good luck on the seat belts - I was fortunate when we flew in December we flew Midwest who have just 2 seats wide that are large. That has kept me from flying too often. Where are you headed? I am not really worried about not staying OP for the party. It might be more of an issue at the dinner party at our house after - the wine will flow. Ammi - have I told you how happy I am to see you again? Your happiness was missed so much - I always love to see that you've posted. Annie - thanks - it will be an easy party. Keeping it a surprise is really the only thing. We're trying to get 80 cards for her - I think we will do it - she got 14 today - everyone mails them to me. A big HI to everyone! Anyone have big super bowl plans? I think we will stay here with a pot of soup - maybe a vegetarian vegetable soup in case the munchies hit. Move your bodies, drink your water and SMILE. Hugs, Carol Val - get some sleep girl! |
BattleAx – I’m sure you’ll fit MUCH better in the seats now. But it’s understandable to be nervous. I’m sure I would be too. When are you flying?
Val – Yikes. Good luck at the dentist on Friday! Sandy – I love working full days! Lol. Everyone always thinks I’m crazy, but that way I don’t binge eat or anything. Make sure and stay SANE, though! Lol Carol – Good for YOU! Don’t let it get you down, no matter what. Just keep up the positive attitude, and you will succeed. :D I sound so cheesy when I try to be motivational! Lol Okay, ladies, just wanted to catch up with you all. I’m off to bed, as I have to be up at 4am for work. Yowza! |
Hi Guys,
Battle, Good luck on the flight. I am sure you will be fine. As Debbie said, you are much smaller than me and last time I flew I was miserable but I thought, hmmm 10 pounds less and I’d be okay….so I am sure it will be comfortable. Make sure you have fun. When I travel, I fixate so much on the plane trip that it dominates my trip. My favorite flight ever was one I had three seats to myself. I keep wondering what it is like to fly an airplane and be small and normal. It must be a whole different ballpark! Also, you are right, in the early morning I do the same workout and I don’t change routines until my evening workout. Heather, ear pain!? That is the worst. It’s as bad a toe pain. Some pains are just more unbearable than others. I hope you feel better! Tina, you are amazing, all that on your plate and you are still on plan! You’re in my thoughts this week. Ratkitty, Good luck with your BP. I hope it evens out again soon. Debbie, I don’t know about the Bollywood video yet. It should be here tomorrow, or Wednesday. I can’t wait thought! As for the belly dancing, this one is really great because it’s more about muscle tuning than juggling around….and trust me the blinds are tightly drawn every morning for the entire time! My sister and I do it together, but my dad knows that for an hour every morning he is banished to his room! As for feeling bloated while working out, I do feel funny. I don’t know if it bloated or not. I feel heavier and thicker. Jar1985, Ohhhh I don’t drink much either so when I do, bang. You’d think I wouldn’t be such a ‘lightweight’ but I am. I haven’t got drunk again in a long time because my family is still teasing me about the day after. Uff. Ammi, Congrats on the mondo loss! 3 pounds! Woooo! And also, I really love special K too. But honestly, eating it for 2 meals a day for 2 week….there is no threat of me eating more than 2 bowls! I had a Gazelle but I sold it in a garage sale for 5 dollars one day. On one of those days where you just get rid of things irrationally for the sake of space….I regret it now! I can’t believe I’m about to go work out at 10:30 at night. It’s my TOM and I feel like a baked potatoe in my sauna suit tonight. Ughhhh! Dusty |
Heather dw, nope that's not too bad for your weight. I guess the norm is around 2000 for our sizes. I keep mine around 1400-1600 a day and I seem to do fine around that. Although today I'm having a hard time getting even that many in. As for the late night snacking, I have puzzles, the internet, and anything I can think of to keep my mind off of my gut.
Carol, Jim and I plan on just having some chili and a veggie tray. I don't want to bring the chips and dips and all that garbage into the house because I would be the one sitting there pigging out on it. Val, hope the tooth doesn't hurt too much til you can get to the dentist. Annie, we might get 1-3 inches of snow tonight. Earlier when it was snowing I just stood outside and enjoyed it. So beautiful. See y'all tomorrow! Debbie |
Catherine - Glad to see you posting. to you. I hope you are feeling alright.
Ammi - :congrat: on being down 3 pounds. I will be celebrating with you when you break that 100 pound mark. Annie - I can't wait to hear how your group therapy goes when you get to wear the weight suit. Sounds like a really interesting therapy! Nothing new here. Same old, same old. |
Hi All~
Haven't been around here much the last week. Not doing really groovy right now. :( I was able to go and have my mammogram done last Tuesday, so the was one thing I didn't have to worry about. I should have the results of that and the xray the I had to have done on my ankle on Thursday when I go to see my doctor. With all the said and done, I have been a nervous wreck due to continuing pain in my breast. :/ I did a bunch of stress/nervous eating last week and I think I have gotten back OP. Least, I hope I have. ;) Glad to say that while I did all that, I didn't gain anything, but, I haven't lost anything either. The weather has been frinkly around here as well, if it isn't raining, it's windy, so exercise has been a bit of a problem, though with my bf's tax refund coming in a few days, I should have DDR and that, again I hope, will help in the exercise department. :D I hope everyone is doing well and if not, you are in my prayers. ~Story |
Carol-We are having a Superbowl party. I'm doing a Mardi Gras theme since it is the Sunday before. I'm doing alligator chili, shrimp gumbo, and something horrifically decadent for dessert. It is the last hurrah before Lent, so we are going to get silly. I have no idea how many are coming. If we run out of seats, they can sit on the floor. If we run out of food, they can run next door to the Safeway. People know to come early or go hungry when I'm cooking something special. The best I can figure, between the two of us, we have invited 50 people. If they all come, I'm going to a sports bar to watch the game, and leave the animal house to himself.

I'm flying to PA. My flight is Thursday night. Red-eye. 2 legs. Ugh.
It's not a pleasure trip. I'm going to help my mother with her house. |
Hi everyone just a quick hello been so busy this past day and today is going to be as bad…
2lbs down this week so I finally made my 50lbs mark! ;) Hope everyone is well and I promise to catch up with you soon! Catherine, nice to see you back and hope you are keeping well xx |
Story – I must have missed all that while I was so busy last week. I’ve got you in my thoughts that your test results come out alright. *big hugs*
Moosegirl – CONGRATS on the loss, and hitting the -50 mark! That’s fantastic!! Good morning, everyone! Just wanted to pop in here before work. This whole getting up at 4:00am thing, is going to definitely take some getting used to! |
Good morning Peeps
OK - it's official WI day and this week I am up 1.25 lbs after staying the same next week. Later when I have more time I will post what I have been eating for a few days and any help would be greatly appreciated. On the up side I have exercised 770 minutes so far this month - now that is a huge change for me. This ticker is updated and I'm off to work. Move your bodies, drink your water and SMILE. Hugs, Carol |
:mad: :tantrum::censored:
Already tried to post 2X and this friggin computer shut down both times!!! GRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!! I will try again later!!! |
Good Morning everyone! Thank you all for you positive comment they are much appreciated. My family is one big drama always has been and always will be. This is one reason my DH and I decided to move several states away. I am actually paying for my mothers divorce from my (so-called) father for the second time lol second times a charm eh? Well enough of that.
I went to put on my rain coat this morning, that I have had for a very long time and love, and it was not tight. For awhile now it has been really tight up against my stomach and I have had to unzip it in order to drive. This morning I had room to move and did not have to unzip it. I was like woohoooo. So that was a great boost for me today. Heather_dw--nite time snacking is my downfall. The way I have been handling it is to save points or calories specifically for that time. Two things I eat is the WeightWatchers fudge bars they are 1point each and full of fiber. The other is light yogurt. I am adding a new one today and that is fiber one cereal. 1cup +1/2c milk is only 2points for me so it makes a great snack. I find that if I know I have to eat at that time and plan for it I make better choices. Hang in there! Have a great day. Tina:carrot: |
Hello my peeps!
I'm hanging in there. TOM appeared this morning with much horrah (cramps) and I'm crabby.. plus it's raining out. Wheeee! lol. I made myself smile at my my negative "self description". Battle, I think you'll be just fine on the plane rides. I know you've probably been reading the horror story thread, but try and relax. Sounds like you have a big job ahead of you as you are helping your Mom get her house in order. Story, yay for DDR! I'm a wee overwhelmed on all the postings and I'm truly sorry that I can't keep up with all the personals. Just know that each person who posts, you get a psychic hug as I read the post. EVERY single post means a lot to me!! Lurkers.. post more! You'll get psycho, er psychic hugs! Luv, Ratkity |
Hi all. I hope everyone is having a good week so far.
I am another person having issues with my scale. I feel like I have been working really hard the past few weeks and at the moment my scale is being rather obnoxious. I am hoping it will be in a better mood on Thursday for my official weigh in... My dad ended up having to cancel on Sunday, so I didn't have to worry about Indian food. I am a bit worried because my knee is a bit wonky. I was having a bit of trouble with it last night and today it is really stiff. I hope it is just that and not something serious. My big news of the week is that I decided I am ready to put myself out there into the dating pool and I have signed up on a website! :yikes: I feel this is a big step for me and really important even if nothing comes of it. I was very honest about my size and I am going to have my co-worker take a full body shot of me today as well. I KNOW there are guys out there who will value me for me - I just have to have the confidence to go out and find them! I will keep everyone updated! |
Well, It is -40 degrees here now. That's where Celsius and Fahrenheit intersect, so in any country that's cold. The new snow to be shoveled is knee deep, and the wind chill is -51, so what is a girl to do but go shopping. They say it is going to last a couple of weeks because it is some kind of front that is stationary, so we have a friend taking us to the big grocery store to stock up in case we can't get out of the house for a bit. It might put a dent in our Superbowl party, except these nuts keep right on going in this weather. They don't cancel work or school. Some of the school buses didn't run yesterday, but everything else did. Back home if we had this kind of weather everything would be canceled, even ambulances. They did open up the emergency shelters for the homeless. Sometimes they leave the subway tunnels open all night when it is this cold, but they have had enough shelter space so far. We left the heated entry area by the mailboxes which open last night just in case someone in the neighborhood needed it. We usually lock it at night. If someone in the building complains about it being open, I will tell them to go suck on a rock. I'm not having someone freeze to death in my neighborhood if I can help it. I checked yesterday to see if the man who had been living under a fir tree in a lot at the end of the block was still there, but he had moved on. The prostitutes are even still out working in this weather. I hope they are getting hazardous duty pay. It certainly made for an interesting walk to and from Church Sunday. It's only 2 blocks, but my crutch tip was going in about a foot or so into the snow. I'm thinking about getting a big sled to let him pull me when it gets like that. It would have to be as big as a canoe, but I'm sure they have something like that for the dog sleds to pull. The only question is if he could get me across the street before the don't walk sign starts flashing. Would that technically be jaywalking if I'm reclining on my butt being pulled? Be fun to take to court.

Good Morning all,
I have some kind of bug but managed to drag myself to work anyway. Hope you are all okay. Sorry for no personals today. Congrats to the loosers. Hang in there to the stay the samers or gainers. Blessings, Annie |
I'm sorry Catherine, I couldn't resist!!!
Bailiff: "Court is in session, all rise for the honourable Judge J.N. Waulk" Prosecutor: "Case of Canada verses the Sliding Jay Walker. Your Honour, this case is cut and dry. The defendent was caught in the crosswalk when the walk timer expired" Defender: "Objection! Conclusions before the case is presented" Judge: (closes eyes briefly to prevent audience from seeing eye roll) "Defender, please present your case" Defender: "My client wasn't walking in the crosswalk, she was sliding" Judge: "Sliding and walking are synonomous in Canada during the winter" Defender: "She was sliding on her, um, posterior" Judge: "She fell?" Defender: "No she was doing it on purpose." (goes on about the fateful night of the injury, the use of crutches by a transplanted Canadian). Judge: "So she was sledding across the crosswalk" Defender: "No, your honour, she was being pulled" Judge: (raises eyebrows) "Pulled by whom? And why wasn't that person given a ticket?" Defender: "Her husband, but he wasn't in the crosswalk. He was already on the curb." Judge: "exactly how long was this rope he was pulling?" Defender: (leans over to clients, turns red, and then clears throat) "Eh, um, long enough so my client wasn't in arm's reach of her husband while he was pulling" Judge: "Why is that counselor?" (eyes the couple next to the Defender) Defender: (looking uncomfortable and a little hot, adjusts tie) "Well, it has something to do with getting pinched and my client yelling MUSH! during the tow". (looks over at his client on crutches and her husband.. who are smiling at one another). Judge: (Briefly closes his eyes again and ignores the snickering in the court room as he tries to compose himself) "Court rules for the defendent, charges dismissed!" |
