I had noticed a number of people writing ‘rhymes’ for the new year and I thought I would start a thread to see how many inspiring (or just plain silly!) ones we could come up with.
Enjoy feeling great in 2008!
(You can feel great even with small changes to your lifestyle, so this can be done really soon.)
Clear the slate in 2008!
(Many people have ‘things’ hanging over them that can get in the way of a ‘new you’. Try to clean out the cobwebs and let go of some of the negative happenings in your life wherever you can.)
Reduce your plate in 2008!
(Simple really... eat less. Either reduce the amount on the plate, or reduce the size of the plate. Both good ideas.)
Increase your rate in 2008!
(Either increase the rate you exercise, or increase your heart rate on a daily basis by moving more.)
Rejoice with your mates in 2008!
(Share your accomplishments with real-life or online mates. It makes EVERYONE feel good.)
Get rid of some freight in 2008!
(OK... a silly one, but I am enjoying the rhyming thing. “Freight” can mean anything from weight, to emotional baggage as well as unwanted physical freight as in negative people around you or clutter in your life. Simply freshening up, ready for your new life.)
Reduce self-hate in 2008!!!!!
(This one got LOTS of exclamation marks because I know that a lot (if not all) of us are extremely quick to talk negatively about ourselves, but have to work harder on the positive self-talk.)
Decide your own fate in 2008!
(Take your life into your own hands and don’t rely on others to change your life for you. Only YOU can do this. You can certainly have help, but I believe it is better if you take control of things yourself.)
I know that the obvious one is... “Lose some weight in 2008”... but I figure that there is a lot more involved in actually working on that process, so I haven’t included it.
I hope that other people can add more to list, as I think I am going to adopt some of these in my daily self-talk and I would love more to tell myself.
