Hi Everyone!

I went to my weigh in this past Thursday and lost another 2.5. I have been eating some solid food everyday, but in very small portions. I am on liquids 90% of the time, but since I am still losing weight, I am probably going to keep eating small things now and again. I am now at 250.3 pounds which means that I only have 0.4 pounds to lose and I will be under 250 pounds. I haven't weighed less than 25 in about 3 or 4 years. Anyway, I'm gonna keep on pluggin. I'm able to get into my older clothes which is really great. I feel so much better mentally and physically. I still have 70 pounds to go though so still have a long road in front of me.

Hope everyone is doing well!

Lisa

Deb – What fabulous pictures and you are so pretty!!

Kari – You are very pretty too! You don’t look oompa-loompa-ish whatsoever.

Hopefully I will have time later for more personals, but I really need to get to work packing. I signed my lease and got my keys yesterday. I also packed a bunch more boxes and moved a lot more stuff down into the garage. I was totally exhausted by the end of the day. I am not sure how I am going to get through next Saturday, the actual move, when we need to move everything in one day. I guess plenty of caffeine and aspirin will have to do. Having everything in the basement on this side will help, but there is a flight of stairs on the other side which will make things tough.

I was proud of myself yesterday for resisting a treat in a Dunkin Donuts. I went in for an iced coffee and I was hungry and really wanted something sweet. But I knew it wasn’t what I really needed to keep going so I walked out. Right next door was a fish shop and I bought myself a nice piece of tuna for dinner instead.

LitChick - I am sorry to hear about the fertility problems. I can't imagine how hard that news was for you and your hubby to hear. Good luck to you as you begin to explore your options.

Nancy - I am just tickled pink for you everytime you write about packing or getting reaqdy to move. I know you've waited a long time before just the right place came along. Plus, to me, it's always so exciting to move to a new home. I always feel like it's a fresh start in alot of ways. Congrats on passing up the Dunkin Donuts. I did the same last night, only with ice cream. I didn't have any social plans last night and really came close to eating ice cream which would have opened Pandora's Box, let me tell ya! I knew I was just wanting to do it out of boredom and loneliness and I talked myself out of it. I had a glass of chocolate soymilk (light) instead to take the edge off the sweet craving.

G'afternoon all!

Lisa - WTG on the loss! yay!

Nancy - great NSV going past DD. It's been a year since I gave up coffee (due to ouchie tummy troubles) and it's sooooo hard going past DD and the 'Bucks.

Wavies at Stormie and Xena - Great to meet you!

Today I exercised a weeeeee bit slower on the treadmill and for 1.25mi instead of 1.5.... ouchouchouch.... I hate getting old and sore.

Doing laundry and chores today. I forced a salad on my bratty inner child today.

My hope is to get out of bed early enough tomorrow to exercise. I *will* be riding my bicycle to work, but that's all of 5minutes because I only work a half mile away from home.. hehe. I still get a little bit of favorite exercise in, however. Any port in a storm! I re-wrapped my handlebars on my bike after my neurotic parrot decided to rip apart the old wraps when I parked the bike too close to his cage. He was a happy bird though! He probably thought I put it there as a new toy for him. What a goof. He's an oranged-winged amazon parrot named Buford. A rescue birdy and has been with me 10+ years now.. he'll outlive me, the brat.. hehe.

Luv and hugs to all!

Lesley-I know in one respect it may make you feel better that it’s not “your fault” so to speak, but that doesn’t get you any closer to the family you are hoping for. I hadn’t really planned to have children, so the getting pregnant stuff was a double edged sword. In a way, I’m kind of relieved that our church doesn’t allow a lot of the more invasive procedures, so I don’t have to go through what you are right now. I’m so sorry that what seems so easy for so many couples has become so complicated for you.

Kari-They call us the sandwich generation because we are in the position of getting squeezed caring for parents/grandparents and kids at the same time.

Sue-How did you get all that Garage Sale booty on your bicycle?

RK-I have often said that for us it is a life time commitment, and for someone needing to lose 20-30 pounds is more like a summer vacation. They worry about weeks, and we talk in years. They worry about a few stretch marks, and we worry about paying for plastic surgery to remove huge folds of excess skin. They can’t understand until they have walked in our shoes.

Stormie-My blood work is like that too. I remember when my cholesterol hit 57, and only 7 of it was LDL. It used to seem to disappoint my old doctor that they couldn’t find any bad stuff in my blood almost like getting me caught in a lie. I used to tell them the same thing, I don’t eat like that. At 600 pounds, they didn’t believe me. The problem was they were right in my case. I did eat like that, and then some. I was finally able to stop lying to myself. Now I really don’t eat like that, but still am not really losing weight. Our bodies are such science experiments. I don’t think the doctors really have a clue how to deal with people our size.

Lisa-That’s great. It’s been so long since I was below 250, that I don’t have any of those clothes left around. Even if I did, I’m not sure that window pane pants with bell bottoms are in anymore. Oh wait, they may be after all.

Nancy-When we had to move, what with my back and all, we hired a couple of day labor guys from the homeless shelter to help move the boxes. They worked for hours for basically the cost of a meal and a carton of cigarettes. They were very polite and helpful, and we had some of the burden taken off of us.

I guess I had a NSV yesterday, which is good since those are the only kind I get these days. We held my husband’s birthday party yesterday. In the past that would have meant house cleaning before and after, food prep, and a bunch of leftovers after the party. In our new organization of how we are doing things, we held the party elsewhere. We had it at a place in Chinatown that had a buffet. I had tofu soup and lots of broccoli, and one piece of cake that we bought instead of having me make, and the leftover cake went home with someone else. I came home to a clean house without leftovers, without having to buy any sugar or butter that would have tempted me later. I stayed under my calorie total, everyone had a good time and stuffed themselves, and didn’t seem to notice that I wasn’t eating fried stuff. I wasn’t stuffed like everyone else, but I was satisfied. I wasn’t exhausted, and was able to come home and do my homework, and he didn’t feel slighted at all.

Ratkitten: my "beak" is almost gone. lol.

Misti: Yea on all the bike riding. You are doing so well.

Catherine: I think you have it figured out about my alien. lol. I am so proud of you for the NSV regarding the party! That is awesome. You are doing wonderful. What a great idea to have the Birthday party elsewhere.

Lesley: My heart goes out to you. I know first hand the pain of not being able to conceive. I hope with all my heart that they are able to do something to help you along. If not, there are lots of children needing good mommies and daddies just like you! Hugs.

Kari: Welcome. Glad you are here.

Stormie: Sounds like you had a very ignorant Dr. and nurse to me. Sorry if it upset you. Hugs.

Lisa: Congrats on another -2.5. Keep it going girl.

Nancy: I'm with Xena. I get so happy for you when you talk about your upcoming move. I know it hasn't been a fun time for a while when you were looking. See, I knew God had something wonderful for you! You deserve it too sweetie. Hugs.

Well, DH and I woke this morning just fine and then all heck broke loose. I don't even recall what brought it on except maybe I was too sensitive and he was still tired? Anyway, we ended up in an argument that was icky. So, we missed church which I hate to do. After we kissed and made up, we went into the garage to put all the things my dad gave us away. We got 3 new saddles and all kinds of tack. All we need now is a couple of horses. lol. He wants to give us his horses but we just don't have the space for them here in our 1/3 acre only. lol. We straightened out the freezer and separated the cuts of beaf into like steaks, hamburger, roasts, etc. Hubby got an idea to run real quick to a couple of yard sales to see if anyone was getting rid of any patio furniture. He loooooooves yard sales. We didn't find a patio set but one lady had a beautiful almost brand new weight set complete with legs, butterfly chest things and all. It is so nice. We got it for $30 so now I will start lifting weights 3 times a week. I am excited about it. I am also starting to add walking with a friend for 30-60 minutes every morning at 8 a.m. at a park here called Black Rock Park. Hopefully by the time I have surgery I will be used to walking and stuff.

Hope you are all doing well and having and having wonderful op days.
Blessings,
Annie

Hi everybody! Glad to see the good reports... way to go!

And Catherine I didn't take my bike to the yard sales... I rode first, then came home, showered and went to the sales in my car. For JUST that reason LOL. Besides the fact that they were up a HUGE hill that there is NO WAY on earth I would have been able to ride up!

Annie sorry about your big "to do" but glad you kissed and made up! And that is SUPER about the weight bench set!! Yay!

I went to church and then slept and read most of the afternoon. Only five minutes for me today of the hula hoop and weight balls.

Annie, I thought you two were aliens, never seeming to argue!!!! glad that you do argue sometimes coz all that 'making up' is worth the arguing!! lol I'm glad it was just a 'flash in the pan' rather than a long running argument, they really are awful (Steve & I aren't on good terms at all, not for a couple of weeks, it's horrible). So jealous of your saddles & your dad offering you horses, I'd knock down our garage to make room for them or scrub out toilets to pay for livery for them, lol. Steve would work any overtime to pay for my diet but it just hasn't been there, I would work part-time but with the boys & costs of childcare it wouldn't be worth it til Aiden starts school properly in January. You are doing FANTASTIC, all that exercise & staying OP, I really am so hapy for you.xxxxxxx
Xena I looked at your pics & thought 'isn't her friend pretty' then realised it was you!!!! Your avatar is pretty but you look so different out in the open. Your pics are fabulous btw you managed to catch the grandeur, scale & breath-taking beauty of the Grand Canyon.xxxxxx
Nancy, hope you can contain your excitement on moving!!lol How is your ex taking it, is he ok now he has a new gf? I hope you're really happy in your new apartment & get everything sorted without too many problems.xxxxxx
Valerie, did Gabe get antsy after your friend fell? How is she? Hope all is well in horse central.xxxxxxx
WELCOME NEWBIES, sorry my memory is no good but I'm sure I'll catch up with you soon.
Lisa, thanks for the email, I'll reply soon! Great on fitting into 'old' new clothes, lol, it certainly cuts costs doesn't it? WTG on getting on with liquids, only people who've done it can understand how hard it really is.xxxxxx
Catherine, brilliant on having your 'party' in a restaurant. I never knew your church was against looking into fertility problems, I thought they were more into having as many kids as you could.xxxx
Lesley, at least you know what's wrong, now there are so many ways that science can help you, I'm sure when you look into it there will be good news! I've heard of several women whose husbands had this low motility & low counts (my bil has, yet he got my sis pregnant after 8 years WITHOUT intervention!!)there's one where the sperm is injected straight into the egg, as well as standard IVF. Good luck, stay positivexxxxxxxxx
Well after a TOTAL BLOWOUT after having to come off liquids I've gained about 9lbs!!!! I know a lot is my glycogen levels filling up, but I feel so ill from all the rubbish I've eaten. Today I start my old diet until finances allow me back on CD, it's called Slimmimg World, though it's only in the UK at the moment, quite a good diet, but like all others it only works when you FOLLOW IT, lol!!! My weigh-in is now Mondays for the moment, though I'm not altering my ticker, it will be back down VERY soon!
