Good Morning Ladies!:coffee: (Why do these smileys keep changing their position??...it makes me nuts!!)
As you can see I didn't explode. I don't think I can eat any breakfast though. I may just stick with coffee until lunch. I forgot today is WI, but thankfully no gain or loss, I was sure after yesterday:yikes:I was doomed!! The scarey thing is that we are going back for Scott's 18th birthday on the 10th...I am sticking w/appetizer for dinner!! I don't want to ever feel that way again!!!!:barf: HeatherMc::welcome3: I hope you love it here as much as I do!! As for walking in the cemetary...scarey!! I hope you don't go alone!! Catherine: Your analogy is perfect (as usual!:D) I did go to a seminar for the bypass and lapband, but it was definately not the choice for me. And now feeling like this, I am glad I didn't do it!!! We were just looking at my license Monday and my kids were amazed at the difference already!! Annie: Good job today!:high: I have never liked jello...my mom always had it in the fridge...the stuff grosses me out, I don't know why!!! Melissa: Jasmine is so cute!! And that gelato sounds perfect! Doesn't the walking to and from the store to get it cancel it out??;) Nancy: Sorry about the headache...been there too this week! Just be careful who you pick for a roomate...I had at least 6 different ones at college and needless to say, was kicked out after 3 semesters (not for anything bad, just hated being there and never went to class!):goodluck: Sharon: You are SOOOO not a failure!! You know that it could be water, salt, yada, yada!! Just start a new day. That's all we can do! (And maybe there is still some nose wiping residue left??) I hope the boys are feeling better. Peggy: Don't feel bad, I have been having a hard time getting back to exercise since we got back from vacation the beginning of the month!! :D Kayley::congrat: on the car! |
Good morning!
Just a quick pop in to say hi! Today is a good day...I've lost my first ten pounds! Yay! Sounds like everyone is doing pretty well...have a great day! Cris |
congratulations on your first 10 pounds cris!
nancy i hope you feel better soon those headaches are heck on me i know that much! good morning Ammi and Annie! |
Thanks Donna. I am still getting in extra walking, etc., but no regular exercise. My life gets less hectic next week, so hopefully I can get back on track. At least I am staying OP food wise. That was typically where I fell down during times of stress and being flat out busy. So that is an improvement! :)
Cris - CONGRATULATIONS on your first 10 lbs gone!! Woohoo! I bet that feels good!! |
Morning guys
Tooth is OK with the help of the occasioal pain killer. Weigh in isnt looking great for tomorrow am. I dont really care though. TOM is coming next week and I have pretty much behaved so whatever. A couple of the girls are starting to call me slim at work. Its kinda funny and yesterday told me how proud they are of me. Then I ate the carrot cake  It was a small piece. 1.5 inch cube but boy I enjoyed it. Time to try and have something for breakfast. Have a great day Brenda  |
:welcome: to the forum, Heather! You will have fun here as well as get some helpful information and an awesome cheering section.:D
Congrats on your first 10 pounds Donna! It's all uphill from here!:carrot: After all the rain yesterday, it finally cleared up today. Figures, since I don't have any errands to run today. LOL. I figured since I had a milkshake yesterday I would be in trouble with the WI today, but I got the surprise of my life when I got on the scale for the weekly numbers this morning--I was actually down three more pounds! I guess it must have been from all the moving around yesterday I had to do going from the ortho appointment to the PennDOT office to get my new ID. Plus I didn't finish the entire milkshake, a new thing for me. Heck, even 1/4 cup serving of egg beaters and a piece of wheat toast feels like Thanksgiving dinner now. And I finally fell below 50 on my BMI!!!!!!!:carrot: |
:flow1: Good Morning Chickies,
Kayley: Okay, you asked us to hold you accountable. Did you walk a:coach: mile last night? Good for you going to the gym. Nancy: Hang in there hun. Maybe having a room mate will be :D fun, fun, fun. Maybe you will make lifelong friends and be able to save so much money you can buy your own home! I will be praying for you to get the perfect place! Catherine:  I just love you. I have to tell you that I really feel it was God who lifted you up because of the prayers of your future hubby. God is so amazing how he works and many times we can't see it until after the fact. Whatever the reason that you decided not to give up and get out of the chair let me tell you that I for one am another reason that God lifted you up. I always ask Him to help me to stay strong and keep going no matter what things look like and your story has truly helped me to say, "if Catherine can do it, so can Annie" I just am thankful for you. I'm sure many ladies here that are here now and have been before feel the same way. Thank you for always, always being so caring, supportive and open in all things. Also, loved the walking story with the priest. lol. Sharon: Ya, I was happy I didn't eat anything because I was afraid that if I started nibbling it wouldn't end. Come on sweetie.:cheer2: I know you can do it. Every time you want to nibble think about how nice you will look in a new pair of jeans. You are looking so good right:whoo: now. I saw the photos of you and I adore the one of you walking on what looks like a country road with your son riding his bike. You have come a long way. Don't give up! Peggy: Excellent job staying op all week! Now my dear.....:club: time to exercise. lol. You can do it! I saw your pics too and you are darling. You have the most charming smile and eyes! I think we could make some trouble together if we hung out. lol. You are a beautiful lady. You should put your photo on your Avitar ! Donna: I hated jello all my life. I can probably say I can count on one hand the times I have eaten jello in all my 40 years.... that is until this liquid diet. I am allowed one jello a day and after only drinking things, jello is lookin gooooooood. lol. Almost like:jeno: lol. Cris: Yipee and a big Woooohooo on :broc: loosing your first 10! Way to go. Patty: :getwell: How is the head today? Hope you are back to your cheerie little self soon! Brenda: Glad your tooth isn't too painful. I have to say again. You really are doing soooo well with your weight. I am so excited for you to get to the 2's. Yipee Brenda. I remember when you first started here and were in the 4's so rock on B. ;) LeAnneC: Yahoo on another -3. We have another incredibly shrinking woman! A huge Congrats on getting your BMI under 50! That is so  awesome. What a great feeling that must be. Well gals, I have the best hubby in the world. He helped me clean our house last night because he knew how drained I am so today I only have the kitchen counters to wipe down and some laundry to do and I am free from chores.... until next week. lol. I hope you are all doing Super duper and have tons of :carrot: :broc: :cb: and low fat :chicken: Stay away from the :burger: :chockiss: :jeno: and get in lots of :woops: :trampo: :swim: :strong: have a great day. Blessings to you all, Annie |
Hi All,
Yay we finally went to the gym . It was great to have a good work out again. I love my Gazelle, but there’s nothing like 90 minutes working out on a variety of exercise equipment :D Em - I didn’t see your post yesterday where you mentioned working on the Oncology wards soon. I really hope you cope OK with it. I used to want to be a nurse, or more to the point a midwife, but as sadly there will be times when people/babies die I just couldn’t cope with that, so I never really made any move to try to be either  Kayley - :woohoo: on getting the car, I bet May 10th can’t come quickly enough for you. I hope you’ll be posting some pics of you with your new ‘baby’ lol. How’s the finger today, hope it’s getting better. And yes you are right you didn’t hurt your foot, but your poor finger still gets wobbled about at the gym so I still think you are amazing for carrying on going  HeatherMc - hi and :wel3fc: You sure do sound like one very determined lady and the amount of physical activity you have planned is amazing for somebody just starting out on their weight loss journey. When I started I was in so much pain that I had to count cleaning one room a day in my house as my exercise. No way could I have done all that you are doing. With effort and determination like you’ve got I am sure you’ll see the lbs coming flying off  Michelle - yes I did get a lot done yesterday, shame I still have laundry to do or I could be lazy for the rest of the week and weekend. Oh well that’s one job that really is never ending! Donna - that’s a great tip, just like the one that says don’t go grocery shopping when you are starving either. I’m sorry that you felt so full after what you ate, but it’s a brilliant sign that your tummy is shrinking :cp: I am glad you didn’t end up exploding  What’s the weather doing there today, it’s lovely and sunny again here today, but not very warm because of a cold breeze. Great drying clothes outside weather though :D Patti - ah yes it would make sense that even a store brand nasal spray is better than any expired stuff lol. It’s funny but you just don’t expect stuff like that to expire do you? How are you feeling today? LOL about the ‘thinder’ yep we can definitely guess what’s on your mind  Annie - I see now why you asked, but unfortunately Mondays and Wednesdays are bad days at the gym because it’s in use all day by the old and infirm who are under doctors orders to get fit at the gym. They get to work out for free or for a huge discount, and most of them tend to use the time there as a social event, hog the machines but talk more than work out!! Friday is the only other day we could go to the gym but it’s out this week because Daren has a 3 am appt online with his guild on Everquest, so he’ll not be good for anything but sleeping for the rest of Friday :tired: I love the way you tried to improve on the broth by adding your own touches, I am glad it didn’t taste too bad afterwards. As for the sugar free jello, I hear you on that one because I am allowed to have that on WW as a zero points food. I had a bowl of it last night when I was feeling hungry and my points had all gone and it was a real life saver  Nancy - I’m sorry to hear that you had such a bad day yesterday because you weren’t feeling well. How are you today? Who knows about the apartment sharing, you could become best friends with the gal you end up sharing with, and hey, you could always pick a guy   Whatever you end up doing, sharing or managing to find an apartment of your own, I hope it happens soon so you can get out of the limbo you are in and really move on  Missy - that icecream sounds delicious, it’s my fave dessert. I have been fancying some all day today, so I best hide all the money before the icecream van comes around  Catherine - send me those air miles and I’ll be there like a shot. :D I think there are a few on here that have a cleaner, or if they don’t, would love one. Maybe I should start up a cleaning service over there with the payment being my travel (oh and Daren’s of course, I don’t go anywhere without him) I’d get to travel, everybody would get clean houses, but best of all I’d meet all my 3fc friends  Sharon - good for you for coming here and ‘fessing’ up about your gain, but you know what, it wasn’t that bad, just 3 little lbs, and I bet half of those have gone now that you’ve ‘been’ I hope you have a better week this week and I am sure by your next WI you’ll see a good loss again  Yep the weather is nice again here, but we won’t make it to the Mumbles this week, we went to the gym today, and tomorrow Daren will be too tired to go anywhere. Saturday we have grocery shopping to do, and Sunday the buses run on a not so regular basis so it’s a pain going anywhere. Maybe we’ll make it next week and if we do I will definitely have a coffee for you. They do really lovely coffee there, even just the filter coffee, but their Baileys coffee is to die for  very naughty on the points though :D Peggy - If you are flat out being busy and when you aren’t busy you are tired then I don’t think you are making excuses not to exercise. If you don’t feel up to it then you don’t feel up to it. Hopefully you won’t be so busy next week and you’ll be more inclined to start getting active again  Yes I love Ugly Betty, it’s a really great show, it makes me laugh, makes me cry, and that’s a sign of a great show in my book!! Cris - :cheer: :cp: :broc: congrats on your first 10 lbs lost, that’s wonderful news. Brenda - I’m glad your tooth isn’t giving you too much pain today, and hey if you managed to eat that tiny bit of carrot cake the pain killers are obviously doing a great job :cp: LAnne - :congrat: on another 3 lbs down, that’s brilliant. And what great news about your BMI too. You must be so pleased with your decision to have the WLS, it’s working wonderfully for you :cp: Gotta run now, but I’ll be back later, Hugs, Ammi :chicken: |
Annie can i borrow your hubby? i am feeling some beter it comes and goes.. so in between i am trying to get some housework done! have a great day!
|
Sharon-In Oklahoma, we called them cow patties or cow chips, and we used to have cow chip throwing contests in summer (the dried out kind). In pioneer days, they used them as fuel since there aren’t that many trees on the Great Plains. I preferred the roller pin throwing contests. At least that skill might come in handy some day.
Peggy-You can get back on the horse. Exercise is not my favorite thing either, but I find it helps with everything else in my life. It is hard, but makes my life easier. Donna-I’m so glad you didn’t explode. The big guy who explodes on Monty Python’s Meaning of Life didn’t look to good afterwards, and I’d hate to see a woman looking like that. Think of the mess you’d have to clean up. Cris-That is just the first 10 pounds of many more to come. Congratulations. Brenda-the one recipe that I’d love to be able to convert to low cal is carrot cake. It just never seems to taste the same. I replace the fat with apple sauce, whole wheat flower, etc. It’s the frosting. I have been tinkering with the idea of trying fat free cream cheese and splenda. I may try that for his birthday cake in June. Annie-How nice of your hubby to clean for you. Mine offers, but he is so totally inept at it, that I find it easier to do myself. He tries so hard but never learned how to do stuff. His mom was sick, and his dad was a medieval scholar, so I think cleaning just went out the window. I’ve never been to my in-laws house, but am told it is scary. When they pass away it is supposed to take us a couple of months just to clear everything out. Ammi-We have so many air miles because my husband is one of those operator types. We get our meds at Safeway on the one day a month that they do 10X the air miles, and his run 1000 bucks a month, so it is like we are spending over 10,000 a month there. That adds up quick. The province pays for his medicine and most of mine, so we spend about $20 to get $10,000 worth of air miles every month. It’s sad that I’m not allowed to leave the country until after my immigration is finished, and if he goes across time zones, it messes his meds up and makes him sick for some reason. I am planning an escape to Mexico for after my PR card comes. We’ll just pick some place on the west coast that is in the same time zone as us. If he does get the MBE, we’ll have to go to England, so of course will come visit. I told him if he drug me that far, that I wanted to go see platform 9 ¾, and where some of my ancestors are buried, and some are in Wales. We’ll have to drug him up for the whole plane trip, but to see the queen, I guess he’d endure it. Today I’m going to clean the grounds. The snow is finally gone, and all the debris from the last 6 months has melted out. At least there were no dead bodies of homeless people under there. The city recycles the sand/gravel that the put down in winter on the ice in the spring time. The piles get pretty high come spring. I’ve got to get it swept off the sidewalks and into the street so the sweepers can pick it up to use next year. It is the number one recycled thing in Edmonton. |
Ammi: Yay on going to the gym and yay to sugar free jello. lol
Patty: Glad you are feeling better now. Catherine: Or, cow pies! lol. Gosh your in laws house sounds like my in laws house. I cleaned it for them a couple of times and within a week it was back to ewwww so I just said forget it. My hubby hates to clean so much that he says he'd rather work overtime at work than clean the house. So, I really appreciate his help. It is rare for him to do any house work willingly. lol. Well, I am feeling pretty spry today. I think it has to do with a clean house. I have made my bed, did my situps and I'm off to the bank real quick before I ride my bike. I also opened all the windows to let in the beautiful sunny day's fresh air. I think Spring is finally here! Blessings all, Annie |
KAYLEY - Kisses on your boo-boo finger. It sure is causing you grief!
ANNIE - WHOOP WHOOP on just saying No to the sandwich! (I wish I'd come here earlier today for that kind of motivation and encouragement, before I slipped as I did this morning. But tomorrow is another day. And hey, the rest of today is a head start on tomorrow!) DONNA - Oh, my! Yes dear, I certainly meant horsey winkies!! I'll have to finish catching up later - just got a call to come earlier than expected to the barn. YIPPEE! A NEW "Betty" is on tonight! Thank goodness!!! "AI was great last night, too. |
Hi Everyone! I got in some walking today, about 60 minutes while shopping and walking home and such. My weigh-in was a good one at -6lbs!! Normally I work hard and barely make a -2, so I was VERY happy to see technically 3 weeks of work already! :) (And that was the HIGHEST weight my scale gave me!) :carrot: John and I have a way of making calorie counting fun, we made up a little "game" type way to count and stay under my daily limit, and it's working, I've been OP all week! Last night I got ONE scoop of Gelato and burned off about 3/4 of the calories walking to get it! :) Nice how it works out that way, LOL! Well I might get a new scale tonight, maybe not though...I will post all about it if I get it, hehe! I'm off for now...hope everyone is well!

I had to stop in to say really quick that I got a letter from Immigration Canada, and I am to come in May 9th for my landing interview to become a Permanent Resident of Canada. It only took them 15 months and 2 weeks. My tax dollars at work. I also just sent off my first Canadian tax return this week too, so I'm starting to feel like they actually want me to stay.
