Ammi yep i am tired today... gonna take a wee nap i think after i get my supper cooked hubby will be here in awhile .
|
Catherine - Wow! That's so great that you'll be able to travel with hubby soon!!! How exciting! :D
I did an unofficial weigh in this morning, and I am EXACTLY where I was last Sunday. Boo. Tomorrow's another day, although, I'm thinking I didn't lose a THING. :( |
Just a quick pop-in to say I'm feeling much more in control today. I even made myself get up this morning and walk 6.2 miles with my niece - she was participating in the March of Dimes 'WalkAmerica' today. :running: We did the whole route, even though we had the option to do the 3.1 mile 'shortcut' - so we are quite proud of ourselves. Hopefully that will undo some of the damage I did this week.
Catherine, it definitely made me realize that I have to actively control what I eat, or else it controls me. :) Oh yes, Southerners love their bacon fat, too! They make a 'gravy' down here that they pour over their biscuits - basically flour and milk mixed with bacon grease. It's so gross! But my husband and his family all love it. I hope your aching muscles get some relief! Jill, yeah, it can be hard to order something healthy down here sometimes, even with all those veggies on the menu! :woohoo: for getting into the 200s! Ammi, thanks for your kind words. I have dusted myself off and am back on the wagon today (not even waiting until Monday like I would have done in the past). And a big thank you for giving the info and link about free stuff in Vegas. My hubby is heading out there this week for a conference and he was wanting to do some stuff without spending a lot of money. Grass cutting is definitely good exercise - unless you have a riding lawnmower like we do, of course, heh. |
Hi guys
Sorry I havent been around much. Had a really LONG week at work then I had a scrapbooking retreat this weekend and stood outside for 4 hours this morning in the line up for Aerosmith concert tickets. I got VIP tickets for hubby and I. How exciting for him!! He is a HUGE fan and its always been his dream. Betcha I can wrangle a nice foot rub tonight... (since TOM is here thats all I can enjoy  ) I gotta clean the house now. Oh BTW, I was up a lb this week but since TOM arrived early I was certainly OK with that. I'm not changin the ole ticker though....un un... its NOT sticking around!!! Annie, Good luck tonight. I havent used my Apnea machine in about 6 months even though I should be. Maybe tonight I will wear it in your honor :) I am awaiting a bit of surgery on my nose in June so it will be more comfortable for me. Brenda  |
Lesley - Wow!!! 6.2 miles! And in the morning?!?! Major props to you! :D Way to go!
Brenda - Love that attitude! Wish I could be that positive! Andrew just got home from work, and went to pick us up something to eat, since we haven't gotten groceries, and don't plan to until late, when the stores will be less crowded. We have a few movies we still need to watch, and probably go for a walk in the park, as it's beautiful out. :) Have a great rest of your Saturday, everyone! |
Hello All,
Well it’s official, I really am having a lazy day today! I am not even doing any of the ironing that needs doing, that can wait until tomorrow. Today is just a day of catching up on emails, and doing nothing. Bliss. Shame I can’t get out of the cooking, but oh well, with a family to look after I think getting away with doing nothing except cooking for a day is wonderful enough! Kayley - I am so excited for you that you are hopefully going to go to Vegas, even if the romantic in me is disappointed that you don’t plan on getting married  But who knows what will happen ;) You will love it there, it’s such a great place, and as you’ll see from that web site there is a LOAD you can do for free which I think is awesome. Even the stuff you pay for isn’t that expensive, especially the EATING  Tut tut on you having an unofficial WI. I hope when you have your official one you will see a loss, you know how fickle weighing can be, up one day, down the next. It’s quite possible you will see a good loss when you do weigh again :crossed: Catherine - Daren is a Trekkie, so of course when we were in Vegas we did the Star Trek Experience. It was amazing, and even though I’m not officially a Trekkie, I did end up buying some Star Trek earrings before we left  I bought Daren TNG uniform top, he wore it for a photo taken on the bridge of the Enterprise :D My very own Star Trek captain  Thanks for explaining to me more about what hubby does, it all sounds very impressive. How on Earth does he fit in his publishing business with all that going on! I am so happy for you that you are getting excited at the prospect of travelling now that your losing weight has opened up that freedom for you. With all your air miles as well you will be able to really let rip when you do start travelling. Patti - how are you feeling today, I hope you had a better night’s sleep last night. Lesley - that’s the spirit, why wait til Monday to get back on track, I am so pleased for you that you are back on the wagon now. What a great start too, doing that 6.2 mile walk :cp: I bet that walked off a load of calories. That’s so great that hubby is going to Vegas, it’s a shame you are not going with him. I’m glad the website came in handy for you, it’s amazing all that can be done for nothing over there. When I first read about the free things I thought it was great but didn’t expect much for nothing. BOY was I mistaken, everything was amazing, even just standing on the strip and looking at all the lights just thrilled me. It’s so gorgeous there. I would holiday there every year if we could afford it! As for the grass cutting, nope we don’t have a ride on mower lol, our garden’s way too small and way to steep for one of those. So I did get a good work out from my little job yesterday :D Brenda - did you get that lovely foot rub from hubby after you told him about the tickets? I bet his reaction to you buying them, and them being VIP ones really made his day, no his week, NO, his month, you get the picture lol. Seriously what a great thing for you to do for him, especially to queue for all that time!! Sharon - haven’t seen you on MSN this weekend, hope you are just busy enjoying the lovely weather and that you aren’t down or anything  Annie - are you back, you must be if you are reading this  I hope the sleep study went OK and that you did manage to get some sleep  Got to go make lunch now, but I’ll be back later, Hugs, Ammi :chicken: |
Good Morning Ladies!:coffee:
Catherine: :yay: on finally being "legal"!! I bet you are so thrilled!! And I am glad you are feeling more in control...I used to feel that the only thing I had control over was my hair! (except on rainy days!!!) I have been many different shades and colors since the late 80's!! Annie: I hope the sleep study went well. Doug uses the CPAP machine every night for the last 2 years...thank goodness...before that I didn't get a good nights rest unless he was at work.:tired: The tests showed that he wasn't breathing more than he was breathing!:fr: Needless to say, he was a very tired and unhappy man. The difference now is night and day. I hope you have the same success!!! Jilly::broc: Great job getting out of the 3's!! :broc: Carolyn: I can't believe you finished all those costumes in time...you are a dynamo!! I am currently crosstiching a baby blanket for my niece's baby which is due May 20th and I really don't think it will be done. I was supposed to have it done by the baby shower...last week...but that didn't happen. (even though I have had it since December!) So now I am trying to have it done by the time he is born. We'll see, I usually work better under pressure anyway.:club: Kymberly::congrat: You go girl!! Brenda: I saw Areosmith at the Jones Beach Theater about 5 years ago...we had amazing seats...Steven Tyler's scarves(on the mic) were almost touching our heads! Even though it was October, and we were on the water,he kept us warm so to speak!;) As for me, I have been busy running around. Dance pictures, Scott's girlfriend's play...etc. Foodwise I have been pretty good...even with pizza which I alotted points for. Exercise, well, does jumping in and out of the car a million times count??:lol3: I really have to get on track. I am bidding on some Lesley Sansone walking tapes on Ebay, since I have heard mention of them here. We'll see...maybe if I get them I will post on the May exercise thread. Well I am off for breakfast and to start sewing again. Have a Great OP Day!:cheer2: |
Good morning all! Well, another week has gone by without me even checking in. It's quarter end at work so that has me hopping and I had another calculus test last week so there wasn't much computer time for me.
I want to say :welcome3: to HeatherMc. Very glad to have you joining us and I look forward to getting to know you better. These threads move fast so it can be intimidating. Feel free to just jump on in. And don't feel like you have to post personal responses to everyone. We all understand there is not always time for that plus I think we can all remember how our heads spun when we first joined trying to learn who everyone was. Anyway, we hope to hear from you again soon. :) Ammi - How did you like the "Idol Gives Back" last week? I thought it was a good show with all the various celebs and was nice to see Simon with a heart. ;) But I thought it was extremely cruel what they did to Jordin. Mean, mean, mean!!! Annie - :congrat: on your successful weighin. I know you must be tickled pink with your results. I wish you only continued success. As for me, I am back on track foodwise. I decided to switch over to the Core plan and it seems to be helping. This way I mostly focus on very healthy foods and I think twice about sweets and chips and refined flours and such. And, as I knew would happen, when I stopped eating even just a bit of that sort of thing, my body stopped craving it. Now if I can just remember this going forward!!! I have been trying to plan a weekend trip with a girlfriend of mine. It took us forever to decide where we wanted to go but we have finally decided on Sedona, AZ. It is very near the Grand Canyon (which I have never seen) so that will be at least one thing we do while we are there. I am not sure what else we are going to do. We will probably be staying at a hotel that offers spa treatments so I am sure there will be some pampering going on while we are there. At this weight I am still uncomfortable getting a massage but I definately enjoy facials, manis, and pedis. Right now we are planning to do the trip one weekend in June so I have something to look forward to. Also on June 2, I agreed to do the Race for the Cure (benefitting breast cancer) with some women from my WW class. It is a 5K walk and if I am going to be able to finish it without my back killing me (or just finish it period!) I really need to get some walking in May to get myself ready. I have not been a very consistent exerciser for months and I need to change that!!! OK, am off to walk my poochie now. I wish you all a restful Sunday and a good week to come! :grouphug: |
Well, I went and did it on Friday--I signed up to walk in this year's Arthritis Walk. It's funny. I can't remember the last time I've done charity walks of any kind; I know it's been years. I used to do the March of Dimes ones every year when I was in school, and then a couple of times for the animal shelters later on before I got really big and then my knees got messed up, then of course I had to quit. Now I really feel like getting back into the swing of things again.
There's a one-mile and three-mile option; I am going to go for the three-mile one. I've been walking more often and working out about 30 minutes a day now to prepare myself for the day (the walk is May 19)...and if it rains, well, phooey on that--I'll just take my umbrella!:D |
Hi girls
Happy to see that everyone is doing well. Nothing new here. I was up before the sun, went and set up at a fleamarket to unload some of my old crap that was around the house. Made $300.00 so I am happy! Just having a snack then I am going to have to head off to the shower. I have to put supper in the oven and then head to belly dancing. Tonight we relax. We bought the first season of WKRP in Cincinatti on DVD the other night and will sit and enjoy some laughs and treats together. Ammi~ No I didnt get a chance to have that foot rub. I will tonight though since neither of us have to work in the am. ok. i have to run. I'm thinkin that if I work fast I can lay and have a nap before I have to shower... 20 min is better than nothing! Brenda  |
thanks Ammi doing better alittle now... my sinises are finally starting to drain. hubby put my vapoirzer on the floor by me last night and i took some more meds and slept good. gonna take some more meds after awhile and see if i can knock this junk on out! hope you are enjoying your lazy day!

Good Afternoon Chickies,
Kayley: Congrats on getting a bathing suit that looks decent. I sure haven't had that kind of luck in years. lol. Hey, no loss is much better than a gain! Hang in there. Your body is probably just getting used to getting back on track. I've seen you loose wonderfully well. You can do it again. Hugs. Carolyn: Congrats on being down to 280! I can imagine the thrill of it. You have worked so hard lately on those costumes. I hope you take some photos to show us. Lesley: Wow, 6.2 miles is so amazing. I can't wait until I can walk and walk and walk without so much pain. Glad you had a good visit with your Aunt too. Hugs. Jilly: Congrats on getting back down under the 3's. Way to go. Ammi: I bet you got a good work out with all that yard work. I love it when the yard is clean and looks inviting and nice. Good luck tomorrow on your weigh in. Brenda: OOOoooo Aerosmith. I love them. Have a blast. I am feeling so refreshed today just from the little bit I was on the sleep apnea machine. Donna: Take pics of the baby blanket you are working on. I love all the crafts you guys do. I myself can't really sew. I can do embroidery and I love to paint and a few other things. I love scrap booking too. Maybe someday I will take a sewing class. Xena: Have fun if you get to go see the Grand Canyon. I've never been there either. Are you going to go walk out on the sky walk thing? Looks so scary to me. Well the sleep test went well. I fell asleep around 11 p.m. and the sleep person was in there putting a sleep apnea machine on me two hours later. I guess I tossed and turned and stopped breathing tons of times in the two hours I was asleep. Once she put the sleep machine on me, I feel back asleep within 3 minutes and didn't move an inch until she woke me up at 6:30 a.m. She said I did so well with the machine and my oxygen never went below 89% with the machine. I feel so awake today and can't wait to get the machine. I am so tired of being...... well, tired all the time. lol. I think this will be a blessing and a half for me to start feeling so much better. Tomorrow is my weigh in at the WLC and I am excited to see if my "peak" at the scale was right. I'll let you all know but I don't get out of there until after 2:p.m. Pacific Time. Hope you are all out enjoying the weekend and having wonderful op days. Blessings to you all, Annie |
Catherine – Congratulations on getting legal!
Annie – I can’t wait to hear how the weigh in goes tomorrow! I have been wrapped up in apartment drama and so haven’t felt much like posting. I don’t want to bore everyone with it. It is one of those life tasks that while very preoccupying for the individual in question, is pretty boring to hear about. In the past few days I have seen 4 apartments. I hope I find something I really like soon or I will need to get a bit less picky. I just really want something that feels like I can make it intp a home, and so far there have been issues with all the places. I also haven’t been doing well plan wise. I started my TOM earlier in the week and it really threw me for a loop. I got really emotional and started crying at random things. I think part of it is a lot of stress at work, and adding in to that the stress about the apartment, well – it has been tough. I also haven’t been feeling great, and it didn’t occur to me until the other day that it might be allergies. I have a lot of trouble with pollens, etc. but I think this year they aren’t getting to my sinuses, but rather headaches, tiredness and such. Between not feeling well and going to look at apartments after work, I haven’t gotten any exercise since Tuesday. :o There goes the monthly goal again. I did have an NSV this afternoon. I was driving home from other shopping and I thought I really wanted something from the bakery. So I decided to let myself just go and see if I really wanted something (rather than forbidding myself and making me want it even more). So I went in, looked around, and decided not to get anything. I have some nice fruit that I picked up at the market and I will have that for my dessert. Hope everyone is having a great weekend. |
Annie - Yes, that skywalk thing looks scary! All the more reason to give it a try! It probably will scare me but if I have the chance to do it, I will. I like to be able to say, "Yeah, I've done that!"
Brenda - I must have missed where you said you were going to see Aerosmith. Have fun! I saw them when they came to Dallas last year. They are still awesome and fun! I remember thinking that those guys must do lots of aerobic exercise (esp. Steven T.) otherwise I don't know how they do all the running around at their ages! Nancy - Hang in there, you'll find somewhere you can call home. Hope your allergies feel better soon. |
Nancy: Hang in there hun. You will find the perfect place at the perfect time! Sorry that it is becoming such a pain in the butt for you. I know how it is to find a house to live in they are just almost right but not quite time after time and then bam, you will find one that suits you just right. Congrats on by passing the bakery. I hope the fruit was delicious!
Once again my intentions are to get up in the morning and go swim. I am not being too hard on myself due to the fact that I realize my sleepiness is because of my breathing or lack of, at night. Once I get my machine I'll be way more alert to get up early and drive to the pool. I hope you all have a wonderful week and totally op days. Blessings, Annie |
