Red face hello i'm new here..

hello i'm ashley and i am new here. i have already posted in the introductions forum and have started a journal. all under th same name. so if you're interested, check them out. it was recomended that i try posting here to find people in a more simaler situation. i am not sure how much i weigh. the scale at my doctors office only goes to 350lbs. i have gone beyond that. i cried like a baby that day as i was leaving the office. i couldn't belive i let it get this bad. that was almost 3 months ago. i have finally decided to do something about it.

i am only 23. i have kids i want to be here for. and i need to start somewhere.

i go into more detail about my situation in my intro. and journal entry, if you want to know more.

hope to hear from some of you.

Hi Ashley. I just started out this Monday and this board is incredibly supportive. Reading responses to others helps me...if that makes any sense. I hope so!

Anyway...just wanted to welcome you from one newbie to another!!

I am glad you found your way to the 300+ area. Please feel free to jump in on the main chat thread. That is where most of the action here is. However, please don't feel like you need to respond personally to everyone. Often people get overwhelmed because sometimes the boards can move quite fast.

Hi new ladies! Please do check out the weekly numbered thread, and also all the stickied items at the top of the page. Post a picture, check out the exercise thread (you are ALWAYS welcome to join).

We have a number of people on this forum who ARE successfully losing. Okay, it's NOT easy and there are backslides, but this is a VERY supportive place. It really does help to have people who understand!!!

Default First Time Here

Read about this site in Oprah and it sounded like what I need right now to keep me on the right path. I am so close to goal but have started sliding back by allowing myself too many cheat days. When I do cheat the quantities are not what they were to get me to 300 lbs. but I don't just "binge" on one or two cookies either. Christmas holidays started it and here it is mid February and I am still struggling. Thinking about joining Overeaters Anonymous for the support. Have put back about 5 pounds and am quite scared that I am slowly drifting back to bad habits. :

Chilidog -- WELCOME!!!

Congratulations on your weight loss!!! I'm sure people will want to hear how you've done it!

I know what you mean about backsliding. I've been mentally stalled for several months. My binges aren't what they used to be either, but they are there!

I am terrified of gaining it all back too, but I hope that will help me from becoming complacent!

I hope you find the support you want here -- please do feel free to join us on the numbered threads too. Also, you may want to check out the maintainers forum -- lots of great advice from people who have lost weight and kept it off.

The best thing about this site is that there are lots of people going through exactly what you are!

I am trying to find someone that can help me get my progress bar to show up. I am new also and am having a hard time finding my way around here.

Ashley - Welcome! I just joined a few days ago and I'm finding this to be very helpful. You're thread was touching and I wish I could give you a big hug. Keep in touch because everyone here is in the same boat you are and we all need each other.
