My first minutes of the month - my first before-work walk around my block. It's sloped, so at least half the time it'll really get me working. yeah!

Feeling a little wimpy here with my 300 minutes - but hey, it's a start! Did 21 minutes on the eliptical today - 5 with some resistance! (That's .77 mile - sure felt like more!)

Personal goal: 61/300

Group total: 1042 + 21 = 1063! :D

OKay, now that I'm a moderator this may have some oomph behind it: Please don't apologize for the number of minutes you're doing!! :D Or else, I'll.... okay, I don't know what I could do, but I could do something! :D

We all have to start somewhere, and for gals starting with a lot to lose, getting moving is that much harder. I believe we need to reward ourselves and cheer ourselves and build our better bodies! It's okay if you're doing 100 or 300 or 1000 or whatever! I also believe it makes more sense to start with a reasonable number FOR YOU and build from there!!!!

I think very few people start at 1000... and I think even fewer 300+ people start with high minutes (though there are some exceptions!)

Let's celebrate our exercise!!!! :) :carrot:

Heather - You are totally right! We should never feel bad about how our exercise minutes compared with others. Doing anything is better than nothing and it should all be celebrated!

Last night I did 25 minutes on the elliptical and 35 minutes with my trainer, bringing my total to 90 minutes.

The group total is now 1063 + 60 = 1123

YAY I finally got a start on my January exercise. OK so it wasn't my Gazelle, not well enough for that yet, but I did walk half an hour to the shops and some of that was up hill!!! So....

Personal Total: 30 of 1500

Group Total: 1228 + 30 = 1258

yep - great idea - cardiac doc's want me to exercise at least 40 minutes 3 or 4 days a week. Guess that would exceed about 600 minutes for the month. If I can count some of the cleaning activity at work this month {there's extra cleaning in January} I should be able to make that goal. I will make this goal - it's important to me to follow through on this.
