I thought I popped a post in there somewhere in the last 2 days, but I guess not! Hope everyone's enjoying the weekend! Yesterday is poured all day. Today the sun is out! Last I heard it wasn't coming out until tomorrow, so it was a nice surprise!
Well i did it i joined WW im happy i did i was sooooo successful last time im so looking forward to seeing the 170's it will be great im haveing a great weekend just want to give an update take care and i'll check in later
Hey everyone!! My weekend at work was soooooooooo hectic and busy, I am bushed even more than usual today, is that even possible?? I was in charge of the program the entire 32 hours I was there, two RN's didn't make it to their shifts which are impossible to cover, my ward had a new patient who took up tons and tons of my time, I had a patient return from the hospital, another patient who was on a 1:1 staffing, had to call the Dr 6 times over the two days, the pharmacist twice, go to the night pharmacy to pick up meds for all 4 wards, and so much more. I didn't get out of there last night until a half hour after my shift ended and Saturday I didn't have time for a lunch break at all on dayshift. Tomorrow is supposed to be my day at Weight Watcher's, but I'm almost considering skipping a week and going in next week after both kids are back in school, I'm afraid that if I go tomorrow and my results are not good that my motivation for the week will be poor. We'll see how I feel later when I'm not so tired and grumpy, lol.
Stevi, the picture is great! I'd love to see more! As for working, I have only worked half time for years so that I am home with my kids more, and I continued on half time after my divorce but picked up extra shifts on the weekends if I could to try to make up the huge reduction in the amount of money I had (going from 1.5 paychecks to .5 plus child support with the same amount of bills has been pretty hard to pull off). I totally believe that families benefit if one parent can be home with them, unfortunately we can't all pull it off financially. I think it's great that you are able to stay home with your kids!!
WTG on everyone who lost weight!! That is awesome!! Wanna did you end up going to the reunion? If so how was it?
Molly wtg on the exercise, hope those 2 pounds are gone next week.
Fit, compliments motivate most of us I think. I had someone I hadn't seen in awhile say to me this weekend at work, "you've lost a lot of weight haven't you??" and I said "thank you! I've lost about 37 pounds" and she said, "yeah I haven't seen you in forever, I could really tell". It made me feel great too!!
Squishy, does the school your daughter goes to not do things to make sure that the kids who are above the others get what they need to learn? My daughter is also very advanced, she is in TAG at school, but she has also had her teachers set it up so that she could go to the next grade up for reading especially, her teachers have told me that they have advanced kids in their class, but that she is way ahead of them, so they arrange their schedules so that their reading times are the same as the grade above Emma, so that Emma can go to their class to attend reading. They have a TAG program set up for Emma that I get a copy of twice a year that addresses the areas where she needs to have more challenges added and how they will do that.
HOpe everyone had a better holiday weekend than me!! Right now I just want to crawl into bed, wish the kids were already in school, lol.
Well, I just said that yes, we went to the reunion and it was a lot of fun. All the same old cliques sat together, but everyone was socialble. I thought I looked ok, but feel that I look like a fat pumpkin in my pics ( Ill post some soon a s I can) It took 4.5 hours to get there, then we turned around and headed home. We got back at 1:30. It was worth it, it was a lot of fun! My DD stayed with my parents overnight for the first time. She was great, and never even cried!!
Hi everyone! Yes, busy weekend here too. Had a party here (really just made a big vat of beef stew and played cards with another couple while theirs 2 girls made up and performed a play with our dd) and then went to my moms to visit and see my bro from NYC who is up. Today I went horseback riding which I havent done in so long! They lady owns 3 horses and I am taking care of them for the next month while she is away. She was confident in my riding today and said I can riide anytime while she is gone! Plus she lives 1.1 mile away at the bottom of the mountain I am on so I plan to WALK down, clean the barn, ride and walk back up (killer mtn is more than half the mileage there!) as often as I can. I am SOOO bored on the elliptical so this is a great thing.
I am still 169/170 and am so discouraged. I dont know if I need to lower cals or what. I dont track faithfully in FitDay but prb eat 1300- 1600 per day. I know WW would be more like 1200 for me so maybe I need to bring it down. I am pretty active though and I am getting annoyed with this stuck scale. Jeans that couldnt get over my hips are fitting nicely so those 13 original lbs made a big diff but now I am stuck. Waahh! Any advice? Maybe my scale has a permanent wt set in its evil brain?!
How is WW going for those who are doing it? Are you on Core or Flex Pts? I am reconsidering now...
Melody: DDs school is pretty good in fact we moved here b/c of the school. The town we moved from was horrific and only dealt with kids with IEPs so as not to fail No Child Left a Dime, I mean, Behind but I may have to kick start this new teacher. Last yrs teacher worked with the Gifted and Talanted teacher from the middle school to get spelling lists etc since there is no such program at the elem school. I chatted with her teeacher Fri and she is happy to work with me to keep her challenged and interested. I know I should not complain much as many parents have much worse obstacles but having a kiddo not like school is depressing no matter the reason.
Sounds like a hellish weeked for you BTW! Nurss are underappreciated and paid, eh?!
Wannabe- good for you for going! I am sure you do not look liek a pumpkin! Glad you had fun and a night without dd! Good every now and again!
Everyone else! Later! I have to get back to work here!
Hey squishy, WW is going great for me. altough, I'm kinda in a rut right now. But anyway, I like ww cause it give me some structure, some guide lines kwim. I am on flex points. I don't go to meetings or anything, but our church is gonna start meeting on friday evenings for weight lose support. Might just be what I need now that i don't have the reunion as modivation..
Squishy, that is good that the teacher is happy to work with you, and I agree having a kid not enjoy school is frustrating no matter the reason. I have my daughter who is in TAG and way ahead of everyone and I have my oldest son who has ADD and was always in trouble at school and not turning things in. Emma is in the TAG program now and so far her teachers have been good about accomodating her needs and Jordan goes to an alternative high school that has been wonderful, he even said to me that he was excited for school to start!! I've never heard that from him before!!
Wannabe, glad you went to the reunion and had a great time, I'm sure you look great in the pictures!!
Well I went to my WW's meeting today and was only down 1 pound, which means I'm only down .8 of a pound in the last three weigh in's, sigh. I'm with you Squishy, I'm just not sure what to do to get the scale moving again. The WW's leader talked to me today, but it was really crowded, she asked me to keep on doing what I am doing for one more week and that maybe we need to go down a bit in my points, I'm still 5 pounds away from the lower set of points. I am willing to try just about anything, I don't want to get so frustrated that I give up. So, we'll see what next week brings (seems i've been saying that for months now, lol). Hope everyone is having a great start to their week, my kids start school tomorrow, except my youngest because kindergarten doesn't start until next week. It will be nice to have just Noah and I here during the day's again!!
Melody, I have to say, that you have a great attitude. Just hang in there, you will get it all figured out.
I on the other hand am having a hard time of it. I did OK over the long week end, and the scales came back down to the weight on my ticker... but today, I am staying so hungry. I haven't been tracking my points, because I had to give the slider, and the materials back to my mother. She has decided to give it another shot, which I am happy about. I gotta get my own things.
Also, I have been skipping Breakfast, and I think that may be what is sabotaging me.

Holy, I am so sorry that dh is having to leave and that you don't even have a definite plan yet so that you guys can prepare. The whole thing has to be so hard!! ((HUGS))
Wannabe, thanks, I have struggled a lot with feeling very, very frustrated the last couple of weeks, but this week I feel motivated to try harder and to try to change some foods in my diet not just stay within my points. I'm sorry you are feeling hungry today, there are a lot of 0 point foods that you can eat to fill you up if your other points are gone. I think you could probably find a points calculator online or maybe you can find one on Ebay, they sell them at WW's, I was thinking of getting one as they are very small and you can carry them in your purse, but they were out today. WTG on getting back down to what your ticker says!! Hang in there, Bob Green was saying on Oprah the other day that if we never feel hungry we are not burning fat, that when we feel a bit hungry (not starving) that is our bodies getting rid of some of the fat, so we need to learn to enjoy knowing that all our hard work is paying off. Harder said than done when all you want to do is go into the kitchen and grab something to eat, lol, but it's something to think about at least!!
Holy- It is so not fair to not even know a sure date. How can you get mentally and emotionally ready!? Good for you for self-control around food this week. Baby steps. How long is DH gone? How much time do you have to make a difference for when he returns? We are here for you...
Wannabe and Melody- We are all at the same point eh? My discouragement is niggling at me to just quit but I wont. I will promise to do FitDay entries for the next WEEK every day! Please check on me aand hold me to it. I will shoot for under 1400 cals since this translates 150 more than what my WW points would be and I am exercising. I will look for my point and exercise trackers from when I did WW to see what my exercise would count for. If I have an extra slide I can send you one Wannabe or are you looking for the tracker sheets?
Where is everyone else? Must be a busy week since we are alone to the 4 of us right now?
