One draw back to the retail jobs -- DH does not want me working weekends :dizzy: UGH ! he wants me to work -- yet how many options are there for a SAHM who has been cooped up in her house for 10 years ?!?! :o :frypan:

Holyteror 08-03-2006 12:07 AM

Stevi, yes actually I'm in Fairfield. I'm headed to Oxnard this weekend.....

Stevi-rocks 08-03-2006 12:22 AM

Norissa~ I was going to suggest food service, a nicer place like Outback, TGI Fridays, Black Angus, etc.. Because you can make some pretty good cash in a short time period but with out you available weekend evenings I dunno how that'll work out. However, the servers with more senority generally get the major $$ makin' shifts so it might be worth a look see. The retail thing would be a hard sell with no weekends. Part-timers primary function is to cover those heavier areas. Smooches!

Hello everyone,

Just have a few minutes, little one is sleeping peacefully. I'm sure she will be up soon. And, of course she woke up! :D

Monsters: Good luck on the job hunt. I worked retail for a few years. The part I hated was inventory. BORING. Once my assignment was counting ties. :dizzy:

Stevi: Congrats on the pound. Way to go!

Fit: So sorry to hear about your husbands job. I hope he finds a new one soon.

Holy: Yikes on the deployment. Tell your husband "ThankYou" for his service.

RR: Awe, you made me sad we are missing The Wiggles this year. We are going to see Thomas in Sept. He will be so excited when he finds out. He obsesses so we aren't telling him until we are in the car. Otherwise he would drive me batty asking when we were going!

Melody: Hope the van is working.

Lisa: Hopefully the work will settle soon so they can train you!

 to those I missed!

 Hey there, I guess Ill just jump in here.

Norrisa: Girl I can totally relate. I have a DD2 and I babysit a 1yr old. I can understand why you DH would want you home on the weekends. Isn't that about the only time to be a "family" I am a SAHM now, but last year I worked at a gym. I don't thing they are as picky (as far as you having been at home for the last 10 yrs) I worked in the child care room for four hours. (8-12:00 or 12:30 if kids were in there)Plus I got free membership, and when DD was taking her nap after I closed, I'd work out (using a baby monitor, with the door locked and only I had the key and I could see the nursery door from where I was) Later I got more hours by coming in and cleaning from 5-8. Another idea is daycare. ( you have experience there) and you children could ride the bus to the center. :) just thought I'd put in my 2 cents. Hope this helps

LoL @RR

Melody, Thanks for the warm welcome :)

Ok, so were having a yard sale this weekend. Its the first I've ever had. I had boxes of stuff stacked to the celing in my (extra) bedroom. I sale on eBay for extra $$$$. It has been a pain in the rump*a*pum pum. Going through each item and tring to let go. Pricing some thing for 50 cents that in a group might bring $2 - $5. :tired: This was my week off from babysitting, and I've worked my buttoff. I'll be glad to have the little munchkin back. It sure beats this!

This is how my living room looked when I first got started.

It's scary I know. It wasn't quite this bad by the time DH came home, but I could tell he wanted to turn around and leave.
:yikes:
Sorry to be so winny, now its time to get back to work.

Hi All,

Wanna - Ugh...my LR looks like that most days! :yikes (Reminder to self: go shopping for toy storage)

Karen - Peter would just die if he saw Thomas in person I think! Isn't it kind of a far drive?

RR - Yes, you should worry!! She looks very serious there! I'll check into the name thing!

Mel - WooHoo on the workout and the extra cash!

Michelle, My little guy actually likes Barney...they have some old videos at daycare and he's mesmerized by them. Drives me nuts, but hey, whatever works!

Lisa, I remember you getting the new car...in fact, was thinking about you the other AM on my way in, saw a little red Aveo...isn't that what you got?

OK, gotta go to lunch...have a great day all!

wannaBsize7 08-03-2006 12:53 PM

I don't mind Barney so much, but I can't stand Baby Bop.
Now Teletubbies on the other hand... I think I am now dumber having watched them this morning.

lppennington 08-03-2006 01:25 PM

Lauren yes that is what I got. A red 4dr Chevy Aveo. I really like it. It is only 4 cylinders, but then again I don't get speeding tickets. (good for ins.)

Hello to all, time to get back to work.

Morning Ladies,
I have been starving in the early evening! Two days in a row, FAMISHED! I haven't gone over my calories but Geez! TOM is not for anther week +. Whatever. My neurotic older Sis contacted me yesterday via E-mail. She owes me bout 2K for furniture she couldn't buy on her own (she had nothing) and asked me to scan the statements and e-mail them back to her so she had "proof" of the exact amounts. Funny thing, she signed up for auto payment and has access to the accounts. I did it anyway,HUGE files BTW, and named them Sister's crap...My cousin, who speaks to us both, called this morning telling me how livid she was about the file names. OMG get a life..I was J/K. Anything to be pi$$ed off. Angry, Angry woman. My butt hurts this morning from our walk yest. I ran more than I ever have. Got the pedometer working on the Stroller though (the receiver was on the wrong spoke and backwards)! That thing is cooool! Time, speed, distance!
Lisa~ Before I bought my new car I had a 4 Cyl. 2 tickets in 2 months...No Bueno.
Wannab~ I just quit my job in June. I was going to go from Salary to PT hourly then decided on weekends only but DH convinced me I would have no family time so I'm happily unemployed.
Hi Karen!
RR~Are you sure he's good enough for her? He looks kinda ridgid..lol
