Default Week of~~February 19th~~

Good Morning Everyone!

Sometimes it is so much fun having a two year old. He gets up so early, even on the weekend. I really could use a sleep-in!

Not doing so great weight-wise. I've gained three pounds. I know I'm going to gain, but wasn't expecting it this soon. I will have to watch what I'm eating a lot closer. I've cut out about 98% of snacks. The problem is DH likes dessert after dinner. Sometimes I can skip it, but when he's right there eating it in my face, I cave. I will have to be stronger from now on. Especially since I know I'll probably have gestational diabetes again.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Karen, I have found that Weight Watchers has put out little cakes that are only 80 calories, not a lot of fat or carbs either. They are actually quite tasty. That might be what you need.

I went Cosmic Bowling last night and afterwords was hungry so I ate BK. Not so good for me, however it was the only thing open on the way home. Oh well I got exersize bowling.

Hope everyone has a good week, it is study time for me.

Hi All,

Well, the virus finally got me. Woke up this AM miserable. I won't go into details, but I've spent most of the day on the sofa sleeping.

I'll check in when I'm feeling better.

Off to make dinner here in a minute - turkey meatballs & rice! Yummmm

Good Morning!!!
Spent the whole weekend in N.O. watching parades and going to a concert with the kids..I just love this time of year--not many people this year but it is like old times celebrating!!!
Ok..didnt weight, but dont feel like a loss or gain..I sometimes think my body is set now on this weight..I guess I need to excercise more....
Lauren--Hope U R better!!! THat mess is going around!!
Karen--BLow off the gain..U will probably stay the same the next few weeks..It is probably fluid anyway.Just stick to the "diabetic" diet for the rest of the time to make it easier on U...

Ok--gotta run get to work..Must be there for 4:30 today..It is soooooo busy lately!!!!

Lauren, I hope that you are feeling better. It stinks to be sick and still try to take care of the family.

RR, Congrats on getting out of the house and having fun. Sometimes we need that.

Karen, I agree with RR. It is probably fluid. I know that the Diabetic Diet is hard, but it will be the best thing for you. Who knows you may not even get gestational diabetes. Hopefully.

Thats all for now.

Hi everyone, hope you don't mind another 30 something joining the bunch! I found this website a little over a week ago and looks like it could be a real incentive for me! Today will be interesting - I'm taking my grandmother and aunt to Charles Town Races and Slots (a Xmas gift for grandma!) I'm nervous about the buffets these places usual have... we'll have to see.

Hi All,

Feeling better, thanks for all the well-wishes! Looks like my good genes came through for me and I only got a light strain of it. I came to work yesterday, even though I probably shouldn't have, but i was armed with hand sanitizer and washed often. It's a good thing, because i had some things to do that I forgot to do Friday.

Intrinsicat, Good luck today, stay strong!!

RR, hope you managed to stay away from those cakes you always tell us about...king cakes??

Lisa, what is cosmic bowling?? I haven't been bowling in years! Used to bowl on a league, just got sick of it though. Last league was right before I got PG with Peter.

Karen, maybe try and find some healthier desserts, so you can both enjoy? I'm totally a dessert person. I have to have dessert, even if it's just one cookie. DH bought Oreos for Peter yesterday (because Peter had to have them), so I asked him to hand me some last night. He gave me the eye and gave me 2. I was fine with0 that.

Hope everyone's having a good week. I'm just wishing this "sick phase" in the family would stop! I'm hoping for a mild weekend, so I can open all the windows and flush the germs out! I'm getting sick of the Lysol smell!!

Oh, PS...for those of you with 3FC Weight Trackers, please see the Announcement at the top of the forum, you have to get a new link.

Good morning everyone! Hope y'all are having a great week so far. I've been staying up WAY too late every night watching the Olympics. I Tivo it so I can fast forward through the stuff I don't care about, but it makes it even later by the time I get done. YAWN. It was almost 1 by the time I finished last night. I sorta snoozed through the last two ice dancers!

Intrinsicat: WELCOME!! There's always room for one more here. Jump right on in.

RR: I couldn't function at 4:30 in the morning. I can barely function now and we get up anywhere from 6:45 to 8. Course, going to bed earlier would help! Are you guys still overpopulated? Is that why your hospital is so busy?

Lisa: Not that much longer! You can do it. I love your countdown. I'm only a month or so behind you with my big day!

Lauren: I hope you are feeling better soon. Been there, done that and it's no fun.

Mom2Alex: (My son's name is Alex, too.) Dinner sounds good. Hope it turned out well.

OK, gotta get ready to run today. We have a lot to do.

June, I cannot wait to see AI either! Which one is your friend's brother? I don't know all the names yet. The boys are on tomorrow though.

Lauren, Cosmic Bowling (also called Glo Bowling) is really fun. They turn off all the house lights and turn on black lights. They also have Disco balls over the lanes and laser lights that go all over the place. Also during part of it, they release Dry Ice. The local bowling alley has it from 9:30 p - 12:30 a every friday and saturday. I highly recomend it at least once.

Karen: 88 days for me. Less than 2 weeks to Spring Break.

Oh, OK. We used to go bowling on Saturday night when they had a DJ and turned the lights down and had colored lights. No dry ice though.

Good Morning all.

Hope all is well. I haven't posted much lately due to I am back to being unemployed. I knew it was only temp but I thought it was going to last until the end of the month. Monday was my last day so now I am struggling on where to look. I really do hate job hunting.

Glad to hear that you are feeling better Lauren. Nothing like getting a bug. I have found that I haven't been at all sick this winter. iI relate it to the fact that I no longer work in a convenience store.

Welcome to the group Intrinsicat The more the merrier.

Sounds like there are a couple of us watching the Olympics. I too am watching American Idol. I missed much of the auditions but did catch the women singing last night. I am really looking forward to watching the men tonight. June who is your friend's brother? I'll keep an eye out for him.

Lisa I've heard of cosmic bowling but never did go to it. Maybe when I get my bowling ball from Vermont I'll have to give it a go. I just have to get it drilled first. I've been tempted to join a league or something. Not sure though. Really depends if I can get a team together.

Nothing else going on here. I haven't weighed myself in about 3 months. Not sure I want to know. There's no scale at my parents and I left mine back in Vermont when we moved. I was told to only bring what I needed. Doesn't the DH realize that the scale is vital. Hopefully, when I finally weigh I won't gain as much as I am thinking. I was so close to onederland and then we moved and it wrecked total havoc on my life. I am hoping when things get more settled I will be able to concentrate more on my weight loss.

Take care all.

Annie
