Well now that school is back in full swing, I need to do something different. As soon as my "friend" leaves, hopefully soon. I need to get back to the gym. I want to get back to that water exersize for arthiritis patients. I don't have it, but boy it is a heck of a workout. I think also I will start writing down what I eat. That really brings home what I shove (not really) into my face.
Lady, I have never heard of that equipment, so I am not much of help. I hadn't heard of the elliptical, tried it at the gym though and found that that particular machine is not for me... I am not quardinatited (sp?).
Moma, I think that is a good challange. When my mom and I went to the grocery store this evening, I bought a 24 pack of water. All I drink (for the most part is Diet Coke) so I am going to start back drinking water. I do need the caffine though.
Lauren, I know what you are going through. I had a job like that when I lived in the Cleveland area. I hated it soo soo badly. I hope something better comes soon for you.
If I could can the weather from today and tommorrow morning, I would be happy. It was close to 70 today and tommorrow it's supposed to be close to 75. Then back down to the 50's. I wish it would make up it's mind. (and on the warmer side)
Well now that class is back in session, I must get to studing. Yuck!
Hi I am new to 3FCand this looks like a really good forum/thread. I'm thirty(mumble), mother of one 17 month old, wife of one sweety, have lost 14.5kg since 01/01/04, but not all that focused on it at the moment, although I'm not gaining thanks goodness. I'm watching what I eat and drink and trying to incorporate rmore regular cardio into my life. Anyway, this week I've had to have dinner with my M-I-L and ended up drinking far too much and eating my own body weight in chinese food order to try and drown her out. Stupid. Today I'm eating well and am scheduled to go to the gym after work :-) I am thinking of entering the Melbourne Mothers' Day fun run (May 8th) but am too chicken so far.
Have a good week everyone
LB, Welcome!! So I think 14.5 kg is about 32 lbs., right? That's awesome! I hear ya' about MIL! I just tune mine out...especially when she drinks. Glad to have you with us.
Lisa, I really like water aerobics! I'm a water rat to begin with, so that makes it easier. I tried the elliptical machine too, and it was better than the bike or treadmill, but I still wasn't thrilled with it. Maybe it does have something to do with coordination, because I'm not that coordinated either!
Moma, good for you being a "junkie"! Hope you can keep it up...do they have a new challenge coming up maybe?
Lady, I would think it is considered cardio, because it mimics walking or running. It's probably strength training too, but if you used it to walk/run, it would be cardio.
Karen, Peter not real big into crafts either, he'd rather play with his cars. I got an awesome "deal" on a Step 2 tugboat sandbox/pool. Found it at the end of someone's driveway, looking like garbage, so i rang the bell and asked. They guy ended up helping me load it into DH's truck and off I went! It's in great shape, just needs a good wash with bleach!
I made a new weight loss spreadsheet and chart yesterday, starting this coming Sunday. I'm gonna join Curves this week sometime, as soon as I get new sneakers. Just getting myself all psyched up about it by making the chart.
Lauren, is that what you have to do? Make a new chart? I can do that: no problem. I am just waiting for that "friend" to leave before getting back into the water. I am so looking forward to that.
LB, welcome to our group. We always enjoy new people.
OMG, I am exhausted. We were on the go all day. Playgroup, the J&J study (which was pretty fun. Easiest $75 I ever made!), then we went to two WalMarts looking for a sandbox. Then dropped it off at home and headed to Toys R Us for sand. Can you imagine that Wally had the sandbox, but no sand? Ugh. And those suckers weigh 50#'s! I could hardly lift them. I'm getting weak since I've not been lifting anything heavier than Alex! They almost killed me. Especially when I put all three of them on a cart and dragged them into the back yard. Broke the cart and everything! It was worth it tho, he played in there for a long time. Didn't even play with his bike so he must have really liked it.
Lady: I don't know that machine either. Sorry I'm no help!
Lisa: Good luck on the studying. I always hated studying on beautiful spring days.
Lauren: Cool on the sandbox. I got the little turtle one with the cover. It fits in the flowerbed by the back door so it doesn't kill any grass. I just won't get to plant flowers there for a few years .
LB: Welcome! If I tried to run my lungs would jump out of my body and beat me!
Hi everyone, thanks for your nice comments
I've tried the elliptical but I am too unco and it keeps making a clanking sound LOL so it's the treadmill for me. L ove to swim but having an almost toddler makes it a bit hard to get organised for that amount of time. The gym just gives me more sweat for my hour! I've done 2 postive weight loss things this week - bought a notebook and started really tracking my eating properly, AND my Mum and I have talked each other into entering the Mothers' day fun run - now we've paid we have to do the kms LOL
have a good week
Little milestones, last night I got into a Side Plank - a yoga move I've been modifying for several months. I think the block was more mental, than physical for the past few weeks, I just couldn't wrap my head around how to get my body to do that. (From this to this. Cool! And I bought a mp3 player today, and went for a great 3 mile walk, getting ready for a 5k this weekend.
Good Evening all...
Lady--I think it would be cardio if your heart rate reaches the "zone"...I had a fitness flyer which is basically the same machine, and I know that U can get the heart rate up and it is cardio...a whole lot better on the knees!!!
K is doing much better!!! It is just so humid here and the pollen is terrible..
Moma--yeah on that position!!!
LB--welcome and I think ya'll should enter the race...It would be a wonderful experience.
Hello to all...busy week at home and work...Tired on this friday pm!!!
RR
Been a busy few days! Last night DH & I stayed at a hotel in a room with a jacuzzi to celebrate our anniversary (3/17). It was awesome! Better than our honeymoon...for those that remember that nightmare! The room was huge, the jacuzzi was in the room area, not in the bathroom, it was huge, like a triangle type shape. It was soo relaxing! DH bought some little vanilla tealights to put around the jacuzzi and it was soo romantic. Of course our foreplay was me pumping! It was only a few miles from home, just in case my mom needed us, and we got home by 9:30 or so this AM.
Friday AM I had an interview that went really well. Friday afternoon the girl emailed me to tell me they were soo impressed with my skills that they want me to come for a second interview Monday! I'll be meeting with someone else this time, not sure who this person is in relation to the position though. It's an admin position for a major company...I'll let you know who after I know if I get the job or not. It's in the Sales department, supporting 3 managers and their teams. The building is beautiful and has a big cafeteria, work out room and stuff! I think they have a company store too, so that's cool! Not to mention being in sales you get to try all the samples. It's in the same town as my daycare, so it's a few minutes closer than where I am now. I'm pretty excited about it, but at first I wasn't overly excited. I think it's just because the person I interviewed with was not the interviewing type, if that makes sense?
Hope everyone's having a great weekend! Ours is pretty busy, I'll try and catch up soon!
Lauren, that is exciting news about the job. I hope you get it. And congratulations on the anniversary. How long have you been married?
I am starting to get that stupid broncitis back again! I just about got over it and then had to go back to school where everyone is passing it around. I will be so glad when I can clean out my office (also at school - that I share with another woman) and they disinfect the school. Hopefully kill all the germs.
Moma, congratulations on the position. I don't think I could do that. I am not that co-ordinated. I would probably hurt myself badly. hee hee.
