Good morning! Well, my new scale came in yesterday - and it is 2 lbs LESS than my previous scale. It definitely is less glitchy and is holding the weight no matter how much I go on it, unlike my other scale which fluctuates 1-2 lbs if I get on and off (so annoying!). So, it looks like I had a nice 3 lbs loss overnight (which was really just 1 lb ). I'm not changing my starting weight since that was also on a different scale as well, so who knows. I feel better with a better scale anyway. It has good reviews on Amazon

scout - Very exciting trip - LOL. We actually went there last year to visit Jays vs. Indians baseball game on Easter weekend and had a great time! We took a trolley tour of the area, they are really building it up.

Norma - Wow, sounds like you had a great night meeting up with a great person for you to aquaint with! The masquerade ball sounds so exotic, I've never been to one - what a sheltered life I lead. I'm glad you are feeling better....hopefully that scale moves for you soon. I never lose weight when I'm sick or not eating, I'm like a camel that stores for a later date, LOL! same thing happens when I eat 1200 cals, it's too low for me and my body stops losing. Weird.

Danielle - I don't even know what to say because I know personally how frustrating that is!! It will move eventually indeed! Ugh. Don't throw in the towel

Hello everyone!

Yes, still going a bit crazy with the weight, but tracking is helping. At least it's keeping me accountable, even if I am going over my allotted calories.

The birthday dinner was fine, I was not as strict as I hoped to be, but I also didn't eat as much during the day to have the calories for the dinner.

I have to remind myself that I can't lose 10 pounds in 2 days, so I have to be in this for the long-haul.

Good luck to with everyone else trying to shed the pounds, even if you are eating to perfection. I am just reminding myself this is a long-term process, not an overnight thing.

Happy Friday everyone! So for some really odd reason I had a GREAT weigh-in today. I am down 3.5 lbs on the week, plus with the different scale it is 5.5. Very odd as I am one of those sloooow loser types, but I'll take it. I did nothing different....EXCEPT.....I didn't have time to exercise? Can it be that my lack of exercise helped me lose weight? Or maybe I just dropped last week's weight because I had no loss? It's a mystery!!

I had a very louuuud bunch of boys at my place last night for my son's bday sleepover (today is a day off from school). This morning I'm going to make them waffles then we're going swimming and then my favourite part - sending them all home! I didn't eat the cake or dinner last night....I have my DH's 40th birthday coming up next week and am planning on a cheat day that day.

Rana - I always try to limit calories during the day when I'm going for a special occasion, but then I'm so ravenous I end up eating everything in sight! So now I've been eating a protein bar right before the event and it seems to help. This is definitely a long-term process.......I went into this thinking it may take me 2 years to finally shed the weight. In past, I try to have the ideal of losing it all in 6 months and then when it doesn't happen I get upset and give up. But I've been working on changing my mindset to know that this is a long journey! The weight will drop for you soon

Hello everyone else!!

Finally seeing my swoosh!!! Unfortunately our weather is suppose to take a turn for the worse today and I'm really hoping they don't cancel my Weight Watchers meeting tomorrow. I want my weight loss recognition, dammit. LOL

Rana - Wait, we can't lose it overnight? I'm CONSTANTLY reminding myself of that too.

Laura - So, I have noticed the same thing, when I don't work out I lose more, more quickly. I *think* that it's because we're not eating enough when we are working out. My WW leader told me I needed to eat more when I'm exercising as much as I am. So, this week I did, and while the scale spiked initially (and I panicked), today I'm down. And swimming?! Where do you live!? I'm probably leaving work early today because we've got an ice storm moving in. lol

Happy Monday! It sure has gotten quiet around here....hope you are all doing well. I know some people were travelling

I had a busy weekend including recovery from a rowdy sleepover, but I'm recovered and ready to run all the errands for the 40th bday party this weekend for my hubby. I also watched the Oscars last night.....I saved up my calories, skipped dinner, and was able to indulge in a big bowl of popcorn and Fun Dip - LOL - yes, I said Fun Dip! I kept to my daily calories and actually showed a .4 loss today so that's good. I really do need to get back to exercise though.....

It dawned on me this week that in March I will be working on getting into ONEDERLAND! That's exciting stuff.

Danielle - Great job on the swoosh!! I will try eating more when I workout - maybe I'll eat half my calories back or something. I really need to do it. I live in Canada where the temperatures are VERY VERY cold right now, but we have a lot of indoor pools!

Happy Monday everyone!

Danielle congrats on your whoosh! So excited for you.

Laura good job on saving up to treat yourself. It feels really great to do that once in awhile. I also agree about changing your mindset to realize this is a long journey. It gets frustrating, but I keep telling myself that the time passes quicker than I realize and to just keep it up this time.

I've not been on much because our wifi has been hit or miss the last couple weeks, mostly miss. I didn't get a chance to go running this past week at all because it's school break here and the boys I take care of were home all day. I did play basketball twice, football (soccer for us Americans) twice, jumped the world'd largest hopscotch board, went dancing once, and walked a total of 40 miles! I feel that more than makes up for not running. The scales seemed to agree because this morning they registered a loss of 2 pounds, finally pushing me past the 50 pound mark I was stuck at for a couple weeks.

I'm on vacation this week and after spending today sleeping in, I plan to fit in a run. The rest of this week, I'm exploring areas that I haven't yet been to. Yesterday, I made it over to the Asian district for the Chinese New Year parade which was fantastic! We skipped eating Chinese and had sushi instead. That was probably a good decision in my part or the scales would have read differently today.

I hope you all have a great Monday!

Hi, everyone! Coming off a crazy weekend...right into a crazy week! But I figure even a quick check-in will do me good. Doing all right in the food department. Laura78, I took your advice and picked up a bunch of Amy's frozen meals for exactly these times-- when I don't have the time or brain space to think about what to eat. I just ate my last one, though so will have to pick up more tomorrow to last a few more days. Next week will be quieter so I'm planning to do "real" grocery shopping this weekend and make some nice meals this week. Best to all-- sending you much support!

Scout, I have always liked Amy's brand frozen food. Especially the tamale verde. That's a really good choice when you are in a big rush.

So far I have spent my vacation week being very active. I did treat myself to macarons yesterday from Laduree in Paris, but I climbed up to the top of l'Arc de Triomphe (284 steps up) right afterward. Today I am giving myself a much needed day of rest and trying to catch up in my blogging. The lack of wifi lately has really made that difficult. Laura, you are right. Our thread is rather quiet lately. I hope everyone is doing well.

Hi everyone!

I've been lost because I had my BFF visiting and my life has been a little crazy recently. I also think I lost a friend, who went kind of crazy on me. That was one was completely unexpected and it threw me off. She had been holding apparently years and years of resentments against me and only now decided to tell me. *sigh*

And to add to the stress, I have a friend who is going to need surgery for a problem in her breasts and again, more worry there. And there was an engagement celebration for her too...

In other words, it's been a crazy two weeks.

My weight is still up, but I'm back on plan, this time for real. Really. Yes. It's not going to happen overnight, but I had lost the motivation a while back and now, maybe because it's very stressful or maybe because I need to have something I can control in my life again, I'm focused on this diet/weight loss thing AND my focus at work has also improved.

I also went back to spinning class, after canceling for a couple of weeks, and I FEEL SO GREAT.

Laura78 -- that's wonderful weight loss! Amazing! Enjoy it.

SMF -- Glad to hear you also got your swoosh.

Norma -- I hope you don't mind if I call you Norma! I'm glad you finally broke that 50 lb mark. Congratulations to you too!

scout -- hope the craziness has subsided. My own weeks have been crazy themselves. I also decided to solve the food issue this week, not with Amy's food (although it is a good idea) but with a food service that supposed to deliver my food every night this week. I won't have to think twice about dinner, everything is portioned out, calorie counts, including carbs, protein, etc. are included, and the food tastes good. The cost isn't as expensive as I thought, for some reasons dinner costs less than lunch (!?!?!).

Anyway, I'll see how this week goes. I'm still counting my calories, and watching my carbs, although my weight wouldn't indicate that's the case.
