yoga

  • I just discovered that I love yoga. I did a couple beginner routines I found online. I want to buy a video, but not sure what is good. Any recommendations?

I used to be very flexible and found I'm not so much now. Some of it is awkward with my big belly and thighs, but I did my best. I found it very relaxing and invigorating at the same time.
  • Glad you posted this. I am looking for recommendations as well. I hope we get a few.
  • I will post here if I get any recommendations from anywhere else.
  • I've been really thinking about starting yoga! Hopefully someone gives some good suggestions.
  • I am interested, too! Our Y has good yoga, but I'd love something I can do at home.
  • Let me start by saying I don't exercise at all. I tried Jillian Michaels yoga and after 10 minutes she said "OK and that was the warm-up" (or something like that) and I was dying already, couldn't believe it. I'm definately going to give it another go though.
  • I've tried J. J. Gorrmley's Yoga for Every Body in the past and quite liked it. The format isn't for everyone, though, since she shows you how to do the individual poses, but does not really emphasize transitions.
  • I know a yoga instructor. I can ask her for you
  • i've been wanting to look into yoga too! with it getting warmer i want to do it on my back patio. i just think it would be so peaceful and i would feel so good after doing it. i've been looking for beginner's dvd's also. have you found any yet that you like?
  • There's a website called Yogaglo that has tons of online classes for $18/month. I can't recommend it enough - it's been making a huge difference for me recently!
  • You're going to think I'm crazy, but I've been using the wii fit plus system which has yoga exercises and I love it.
