I don't drink coffee, can't stand the taste, but I too need my caffeine. My solution? Caffeinated gum. It also has the advantage of solving my need to gnaw on something throughout the day.

I think you will be surprised at how "easy" it can be to quit or reduce caffeine. 1 month ago today, my DH and I decided that we were drinking too much soda (no coffee or tea in our family - coke for DH and diet coke for me). We both would drink about 6-7 cans per day. And now that we were watching what we ate, this was the logical next step.

DH is down to 2 cans per day - he drinks 1 can as soon as he wakes up and another around dinner time.

I on the other hand decided to see how long into my day I could make it without the soda. At first is was 8am (I start work at 6), but this week I am making it past lunch. Now that I am having 1 can in the afternoon, I am not even drinking my second can I allow myself.

I don't drink coffee, tea, juice, etc. So I am strictly on water and 1 can of diet coke. I never thought I could do this considering how much I used to consume. At first I had the headaches from caffeine withdraw, but that passed after about the first week.

Good luck to all you who try!

That's barely 200mg a single cup of strong coffee (like Starbucks.) Hardly an addiction.

Still congrats on kicking the "habit".
