Flower: thank you so much. That is going to help me out A LOT

d-chan: good job taking healthy foods for yourself while on vacation!

Pixie: Sorry your video left you wincing... at least you know its working, lol. Hope the bug makes its rounds quickly.

I have only been to the gym once this week I have slept in nearly every day. I will be glad when school starts so that I can get back on my normal routine. On the bright side my monthly FINALLY showed.. maybe now I will start feeling normal again, lol.
Anyways, I gotta get off here and get the house cleaned up and do some work in the garden. Hope you all have a wonderful day!

Pixie: My DH always laughs at me when I can't sit down after a work out. Usually the one where I'm so proud to have used my new 20 pounders for one legged squats. I just remember something I'd heard once: The exercises you hate the most are usually the ones that do that most good.

JLD: I can't wait for school to start. I've tried all summer to keep an evening workout time so it wouldn't be too big a swing when school starts up again and I don't get back until 5:30 and everyone has to eat. ^_^ This is one routine that can't be bad.

I had an epiphany while looking in the fridge this afternoon. Eating because I'm bored is stupid. I'm still bored even after I'm done eating, 'cause it's not like I spent a lot of time preparing whatever it was I chose to eat. Why on earth do I do that? I thought I was a pretty intelligent human being.

I'm in a bit of depressed funk. Don't know why. This heat and humidity is making me nuts. I retain water like a sponge in this weather and having it ALL summer long this year is making it extremely difficult for me to lose weight. So I'm still weighing in for the BL Challange, but I'm more focused on keeping the everyday habits healthy and making good choices. This week, is a draw exercise has been good, eating could be better. Still have 3 days left though to show a loss.

Tomorrow however is a new day with a clean slate.

Despite my depressed funk of a mood, I had a great NSV today!

Straight from work, I went to the laundromat to do laundry. By the time I got there I had only eaten 900 cals/day. Knowing that dinner was about 2.5hours a way, I needed something! My choices in walking distance were:

1. 2 pizza shops
2. 2 bakeries
3. 2 Chinese restaurents
4. a Wendy's( I haven't touched fast food in nearly 5 years now)
5. an ice cream shop

sugar, sodium and fat...oh my!!! None of it was particularly appitizing. Then I spied my answer. Walgreens!!! I spent $2.88 and got a bottle of water and a Luna bar!

On the way home, I stopped at a grocery store(fridge was pretty bare) and bought a steamer bag of veggies, package of Perdue baked chicken patties and pita chips.

Dinner was green beans, a chicken patty and a tiny bit of Sea Salt Pita chips!

Bad news...my dog was growling for some of what I was eating. So I gave him a pita chip. LOL... he loved it!!!!

Jenn - WTG making a good choice! I have found that the grocery store is just as fast as a restaurant for a quick meal - protein bar, yogurt, an apple, even a deli wrap or sandwich.

DChan - I like what you had to say about eating out of boredom. I consider myself a pretty smart girl as well...why do dumb things, then?

Our oldest son made a cake on his own for his 12th birthday today! I had a piece and it was good. One piece. Gave away the rest.

Only getting some groceries today and hanging out with the 1yo and 3yo in the baby pool out back. My 12yo and 8yo went with my Mom to KC to see my sister. After a week of everyone (but me PTL!) being sick and taking care of 8 kids...only having 2 to care for today feels like a dream come true! Baby Boy is napping, but we will go get some groceries when he gets up. DH works Saturdays...maybe when they bid for shifts again this fall he will have it off.

I have 7 miles planned for my long run tomorrow. I did 6 last Sunday, so I'm sure I can do 7! 8 miles will take me to the end of the paved trail where it goes to gravel...scary!

Have a great weekend.

I've been mostly lurking this week, just one of those things. Although my weight has stayed the same most of the week, I have not been making good choices. Imagine what would happen if I did!

This morning I used my treadmill again: 3 min walk/3 min jog for 21 minutes. It was a good sweat inducing pace. I will do it again this evening. Ever since I started jogging my shoulders have been hurting, any advice? I feel like I have pretty good form. Do I just need to focus on keeping them relaxed?

Tomorrow I leave for 4 days of family vacation, then home for 2 days, then camping with friends for 10. Trying to get it all in before school starts again.

Jenn--congrats on making a good choice yesterday. I would love to be able to say that it has been 5 years since fast food!

MP--enjoy your day with just 2 and 7 miles will be nothing!

Good choices abound today! That's what I like to see!

Today was my official weigh-in...

I'm officially in the 2teens!!!

219.0

I LOVE IT!!!

Now imagine how much I could lose if I had a treadmill in my living room!

Have a great weekend, everybody!

I know... It's great!

Although the exercise part will become easier once my son is back in school... He starts grade 7 on Sept. 2nd, so I can start taking long walks by myself and use my iPod for motivation to keep moving.

Grade 7. Gosh. Where does the time go.

Rycher, Congrats on reaching the 2teens!!! Also, My kids are in grades 4 and 5 this year I don't know where all those years went, LOL.

I had typed a nice long reply to everyone, but my computer crashed and I lost it. I went and set up at a flea market today. I sold a lot of stuff, including my flute but, I think the little boy who bought it will really enjoy it. he also bought my little brother's trumpet. He said he was trying to learn ALL the instruments, and could already play the clarinet, french horn, and trombone. I also moved a little of my avon inventory, and got a couple of good leads for new customers. So all in all it was a good day

Tomorrow I'm going swimming at the wellness center, and Monday I hope to be back on schedule with my exercise. I have got to get back on track.

anyways, I hope you all are having a wonderful weekend!

Hi, everyone! I'm new here and thought I'd add my August update My girls start back to school on August 17th, and I start back on the 24th. It's going to be interesting! This will be my first semester working almost full time and going to school either full time or 3/4 time. I'm a bit nervous, but hopefully once I get in and get started it will go smoothly. One of my fears is that once we get back into the school day routine I will not stay as motivated to continue with the rest of my 30 days doing the 30 Day Shred. I would like to graduate to doing either Power 90 or P90X afterwards, so I need to keep myself on track NOW!! I was proud of myself tonight - the kids wanted their weekly McDonalds run, and instead of giving in I made a second drive through at Zaxby's for a grilled chicken salad. I didn't even steal ONE frency fry, LOL! That's willpower right there

It has been ridiculously hot here in SC. The heat index has gotten up to 115 a few times. I'm ready for cooler weather, although that doesn't usually get here until late October, early November at the earliest. We have beautiful walking trails in my neighborhood, and I miss being able to go for walks. Even in the evenings it is too hot and humid to do it.

Hi Guys,

Still here, very busy with summer things, back-to-school prep for the kids, starting a new job, etc. etc. It is wicked hot and humid in the Midwest! I actually cannot wait until autumn shows here; I miss morning runs in the cool air.

I am also still plugging along, though have had a lack of motivation for healthy eating for some time. I am trying to work on that! Have been exercising faithfully though.....

Have a great week!

Well ladies, I'm happy to report that I seem to have gotten my normal energy back. Thank God! Today is the first time in weeks that I have been able to do my full 45 minute workout. I think this time of year is a big help for me. This time of year is like a re-birth of life to me. The kids are going back to school, I'm going back to school... New classes, new teachers.. just new, lol. Plus Fall is just around the corner and is by far my favorite time of year

anyways sorry for the random thoughts I hope you all are having a good week!
